Luxurious hotel with nice beach

On arrival we were given a welcome drink and checking in was completely quick. Our room very new to main lobby.. Hotel location is not near patong area but I am happy with the hotel facilities they have and many activities for adult and kids. Many choice of foods like Italian , Thailand and western food. The breakfast was good. Nice place to stay with kids..
Nightlife Tip:
No night life in my hotel area.

Good hotel, excellent location for what I needed

A good hotel which provided everything I needed for a short stay. The service from staff was not as good as I would have expected, particularly given the premium price for the rooms, but overall a good hotel, good location and rooms well kept and maintained.
My food experience in other cities in Thailand is normally exceptional,unfortunately the standard at Dusit Thani didn't match the quality I have experienced before and it was very expensive. When I ate outside of the hotel, food was much better and a lot cheaper.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Unless it is really important to you, don't bother to pay extra for an ocean front room. The view to the lagoon is just as lovely and peaceful and the rooms are no different in size and dimension. The extra for ocean view was not worth the money.

Great local atmosphere with excellent service

If you are looking for a big nightlife then be prepared to take the half hour trip to Patong Beach where all the action is. However if you have a family or just enjoy good dining or romance then this is a great choice. It enjoys a quiet location beside a beautiful beach and alongside a very large lagoon complex which also has four other top hotels adjoining it. This allows you to enjoy the other hotels restaurants etc which are accessible via canoeing, free boat shuttle or free bus shuttle. The hotel is set amongst large and beautiful gardens and ponds which is great for roaming around and there are plenty of sporting facilities and activities such as golf, riding, canoeing, sailing etc plus the hotel puts together a program of daily activities. My children enjoyed the opportunity to see elephants around the resort complex each day. Although a distance from the markets and shopping at Patong, I particularly like the fact that there is an upmarket shopping complex called Canal Village which is a two minute walk from the hotel. This gives you some good shopping such as Jim Thompson (and a J.T. outlet store!), tailors, gifts, foreign exchange, convenience store and eateries. I've stayed in three different types of rooms at the hotel and they have all been enjoyable and well located . Overall though, it's the service which makes this a really relaxed and happy place to visit - and I've been back three times!
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel is on a large strip of beautiful beach and provides ample sun lounges, so if you get tired of the beautiful pool you can always settle down with a platter of tropical fruit from one of the friendly beach stalls and enjoy a drink overlooking the Andaman Sea. Bliss!

The Dusit is 25 years old now, but still has a charm. You know you are in Thailand and not in an sterile modern box. Nothing too fancy, but relaxed and elegant. Lots of local vendors on the beach for drinks etc.

I was split up with my boyfriend on our trip in Phuket,I was check out from other Hotel in Laguna and first In my mine is Dusit Thani! Check in with staff smiles that take my problem away, wake up in the morning with fantastic view of The sea that some thing could not be wrong. End of my stay with the full of bean and ready to new start!! because of Dusit Staff services make my Holiday. Thank you

Good villa, but staff service to improve

Here are the pros:
- The villa is nice
- the front desk reception is taking good care of the clients for the villa
Here are the cons:
- the club house for the kid is so/so. You need an adult to be with your child if he is not 4 years old, but if an adult is here, the woman in charge of the club house does not do anything..no activity, nothing
- the staff around the pool is not very helpfull. They don't serve food as soon as it is raining and don't help you with towels..etc.. try to do as less as possible.

Great resort - relaxing and with great service

Arrived early morning so could not check in straight away - chilled by pool instead. When we did check-in, even though it was the regular check-in time, to apologise for making us wait they upgraded us to a deluxe suite with another connecting deluxe room. Brilliant.
Resort is a nice manageable size - find huge resorts frustrating sometimes.
Really nice relaxing pool area that is just steps from the beach was great for the whole family; and my son and I also had 2 rounds of golf at the excellent Laguna course with a resort discount, and free play for juniors. Perfect
Restaurant Tip:
Siam Supper Club - just 3 mins drive away, and they will send a car to the resort to collect you. Excellent food, wine and ambiance. Not cheap. Not Thai. But brilliant.

We had a wonderful time. The staff is friendly, the food is good (good variety of restaurants) and our children had a wonderful time swimming and doing crafts in the kids club.
Restaurant Tip:
The canal shopping centre next door has a wonderful little restaurant at the Laguna and has Italian and Thai food. In the shopping centre is a playground and trampoline.

The rooms were good, maybe not what the brochure showed but nevertheless very good value and very clean.
I'd come back in a heartbeat.
Restaurant Tip:
The Thai restaurant in the hotel was brilliant.
The poolside bar was also good for food and its not expensive.
