A long way from anywhere. . and its expensive for transport 700 baht for a Taxi!

we paid 700 baht for a 'taxi' take us to Karon beach - he had to ring once for directions - then still got lost twice, when we pointed out that for 700 he should be able to find his way around - the Driver just about started to cry. 700 baht we could have had a taxi all day in Bangkok, and one that knew his way around, Phuket is ripping off the tourists
Restaurant Tip : head down to the beach- there are some really great sea food places either left or right, and they all have great happy hours for cocktails on the beach

It was relaxing and clean. Not very crowaded which I like. Good Spa facility and I like the fact they clean the room twice a day. The food/drink price was a bit pricey. No one to greet as when we arrive at the door. Nothing much around the area. It was my first time in Phuket and I chose it Dusit Thani based on Agoda reviews. The surrounding area at Dusit Thani is nice and quiet and it wasn't crowded in the resort. The rooms were cleaned twice a day and included complimentary fruits and water. We used the spa facility twice which was good value because they had promotions and the staff was very professional. Ther are some resturants along the beach and I would recommend going to Lotus with free pickup and return service. The dislikes would be the food/drink were quite pricey but that would be understandable as there isn't much around the area. The Thai resturant in the hotel wasn't as good as I would expect. Shuttle bus to town was reasonable but more depart/return time would be ideal. Overall I'm happy with this hotel and would go back again.
Restaurant Tip : Going to Lotus is a must if you like seafood.

taxi mafia operating with permission of hotel, no metered taxis allowed. Treble the real cost. Slightly run down hotel in a poor location. You are discouraged from leaving the complex of hotels.

good price and pleasaed that I had an upgrade shower in the room was very poor
I had a pizza by the pool which really wasn't very nice I checked into the hotel on line which was easy and got a good price.
Not the fault of the hotel but the weather was not good - very windy and raining so the sea was rough.
This restricited the options in the hotel an meant that other activities had to be found.
I did travel into Patong and found the journey OK but once out - you really had to do it for the day.

Nice location. staff are friendly too expensive for everything. everything is over priced with 10 % service charge and 7 % tax. the other problem is that the surrounding town is also over priced. their seems to be a manopoly. to trap tourists. The stay is nice but you must have money in your pockets or in your bank. you can get the same service at a cheaper rate in other places. I found that it was a trap for 1st time tourists to thailand. Trapping the people that don't realise that you can get the same service for cheaper in Kata or else where. my stay was enjoyable becuase it was at the commpanies expense but i would not dip into my own pockets to stay there

nice and very friendly staff. very clean expensive breakfast. Part of a big resort. expensive restaurants. rooms look old, need renovation. Hotel is part of the Laguna project (together with 5 more Hotels). It is difficult to get out of this area... next to banyan tree ist the "Lotus". Very good Thai restarant.

Good food and service, Great location, many fun activities for the kids! The DVD in the room did not work well. The rooms are convinient with all kind of small things like flowers on the bed and fresh fruits every day that makes you feel spoilt with special attention. The hotel location is 50m from the sea so we could enjoyed walks on the beach. Our teens had great options of water sport activities in the safe closed lake and the young kid was all day playing in the swiming pool, play station and playground. We could relax and enjoy wonderful time!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There is a diving club next to the hotel where you could take a diving course.

Nice lobby and good use of wireless internet, nice garden area, friendly staff, good Italian restaurant, nice view to Laguna, rooms ok and spacious bathroom elevators too old and not well maintained, not able to have own dvd player, pay movies was no option as those were old movies My daughter and I had a great stay and we took use of the shuttle bus quite often and thus could explore the whole Laguan area. We booked room only and would have had to pay over 400 Baht for one breakfast per person, which actually is quite overpriced and not worth it at all :) We however used the Italian restaurant which was very good, but they closed for outside (but offered us to sit there... with no one sitting there, we decided to stay indoors. We could not use our DVD player as they had movies to pay - we knew all the movies which is mostly the case in hotels!
Travel tip : some more activities would be great, such as cooking class, real flower arrangements

Location - right on the beach and the laguna, friendly staff, good food. Far from Patong beach if you are looking for "action", the pool is not big enough. We stayed at the Dusit Thani Laguna Hotel out of season so the hotel was not in full capacity. Got an upgraded room (Ocean View). The rooms are nice, have all needed amenities and clean. Public areas are nicely decorated. Tasty breakfast. Good sized gym. Staff was very friendly and helpful.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Take the boat sail to James Bond Island! Use the local bus shuttle to visit the other hotel in the Laguna area. Try some of the restaurants in the village (they usually send a taxi to pick you up from the hotel)

very friendly staff, beautiful beach and sunsets. It is a great value fr the money. Enjoyed our stay very much, and the staff made it very welcoming. I think the buffet breakfast could be worked on a little, but that is not really a problem. The beach is great, and there are other nice spots right on the beach to eat. All the people and staff we met seemed to genuinely care that you ahd a good time, and did ther best for us. i do recommend the laguna tour to the islands.

The staff were great, plenty of smiles, nothing a problem. Room was great, view terrific, good value. Swimming pool clean and quiet. Restaurant food was expensive, and quality average. Breakfast choices didnt change much from day to day. The checkin was typical Thailand, very friendly and efficient. They upgraded our room to Club so this was very nice. The room had access out to the lawn and the low season quietness was perfect. Beach was very clean, so was water and beach vendors were minimal and non pushy, can very much recommend.
Only low light was the restaurant experience, the food was at least twice that compared to eating at the nearby beach restaurants, and the quality perhaps on a par, or less. They also advertized an early bird discount on the in-room TV channel that no one knew about, and we didnt get despite asking.
But I would certainly go again,
