Overall an enjoyable experience but let down by poor restaurant service. Even allowing for the peak Easter week the restaurant service management was awful, long waiting times, incomplete orders and many short tempered customers. The local staff were trying very hard but hampered by poor organization.

Although one could argue that the rooms look a bit tired relative to newer resorts, the quality of service, overall facilities and the bang-on-beach location makes it a winner. We would happily go there again.
Restaurant Tip:
Tawai restaurant outside Laguna Gate and Saffron at the Banyan Tree were the best Thai restaurants that we went to. Casuarina beach bar at the hotel was our favorite at the hotel. The happy hour with all drinks at 50% off during sunset was great value.

Lovely hotel and service with a smile, We really enjoyed our stay. Staff were very helpful and friendly. Best beach to stay at in Phuket. Try the Italian restaurant near the entrance to Laguna for a great pizza.

If you are looking for a big nightlife then be prepared to take the half hour trip to Patong Beach where all the action is. However if you have a family or just enjoy good dining or romance then this is a great choice. It enjoys a quiet location beside a beautiful beach and alongside a very large lagoon complex which also has four other top hotels adjoining it. This allows you to enjoy the other hotels restaurants etc which are accessible via canoeing, free boat shuttle or free bus shuttle. The hotel is set amongst large and beautiful gardens and ponds which is great for roaming around and there are plenty of sporting facilities and activities such as golf, riding, canoeing, sailing etc plus the hotel puts together a program of daily activities. My children enjoyed the opportunity to see elephants around the resort complex each day. Although a distance from the markets and shopping at Patong, I particularly like the fact that there is an upmarket shopping complex called Canal Village which is a two minute walk from the hotel. This gives you some good shopping such as Jim Thompson (and a J.T. outlet store!), tailors, gifts, foreign exchange, convenience store and eateries. I've stayed in three different types of rooms at the hotel and they have all been enjoyable and well located . Overall though, it's the service which makes this a really relaxed and happy place to visit - and I've been back three times!
Hotel Feature Tip:
The hotel is on a large strip of beautiful beach and provides ample sun lounges, so if you get tired of the beautiful pool you can always settle down with a platter of tropical fruit from one of the friendly beach stalls and enjoy a drink overlooking the Andaman Sea. Bliss!

Great resort - relaxing and with great service

Arrived early morning so could not check in straight away - chilled by pool instead. When we did check-in, even though it was the regular check-in time, to apologise for making us wait they upgraded us to a deluxe suite with another connecting deluxe room. Brilliant.
Resort is a nice manageable size - find huge resorts frustrating sometimes.
Really nice relaxing pool area that is just steps from the beach was great for the whole family; and my son and I also had 2 rounds of golf at the excellent Laguna course with a resort discount, and free play for juniors. Perfect
Restaurant Tip:
Siam Supper Club - just 3 mins drive away, and they will send a car to the resort to collect you. Excellent food, wine and ambiance. Not cheap. Not Thai. But brilliant.

Great Hotel

Really enjoyed our stay and our two teenage children managed to keep themselves busy. The only disappointment was that the Casurina Restaurant on the beach was closed which limited the casual dining experience.

Unbelievable service

We stayed at the Dusit Thani for three nights and it was definitely not enough time. The resort is located about forty five minutes from the busy city of Patong on Phuket. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to the laguna Villas and they were exquisite. The rooftop pool and outdoor showers were wonderful and the villas were open, bright, beautifully decorated and spacious. The beds were comfortable and luxurious and wonderfully clean. I can't say enough about the service at the hotel. I felt like visiting royalty.
The public pool was not as spacious as I would have liked and the beach area although beautiful was could use some updating. In a pool villa , this wasn't an issue since we always used our rooftop pool. Some of the best pool food I have ever had.
Would definitely return.
Travel tip:
It is a bit far from the nightlife in patong but taxis are easily accessible and if you don't mind the long ride, about $21.00 each way.

Generally enjoyed our stay but certain areas of the hotel are tired and need a facelift.The bars and restaurants are very expensive and the quality of the food does not match the price, hence the restaurants were very quiet.Also a shame the very useful shuttle bus won`t go into the nearby village and stops at Laguna Waters.The beach could also do with cleaning on a regular basis. The hotel generally is ok, but does not warrant a 5 star rating.
Restaurant Tip:
Avoid the restaurants as they are expensive and not good value. Better value for money can be found in the nearby village.

I reserved a Club room and they upgraded it to a Suite! From the room I can see the beach and the sea clearly. What I liked the most however is the great service from all the staff. I also recommend a trip on the ferry and see the scenery around the lake, great view.
