The hotel is in a great position, right in the heart of Patong. If you are after the shopping, nightlife, etc then this is the place to be. The service is really good; the staff are friendly and helpful. There is a wide selection of rooms as there is a new wing and an older wing. I stayed in a superior room in the old wing which was fine except for a poor view. The pools are not big enough to accommodate all the guests and are not conducive to swimming i.e. more like shallow wading pools. The food can be a bit bland at times. I ordered a chicken burger by the pool which was fresh but very tasteless. I also had room service which was quick but once again a bit bland. Overall this is a good hotel with friendly staff in a great position. The food is a bit average but not too expensive and there are countless restaurants of all descriptions just outside your door. Security is good and the facilities generally well kept although I found the two pools fairly crowded most of the time. My room was good, a standard superior that was well maintained. Could have done with a widescreen TV and a DVD player though.... this is pretty standard now yes!!?? I rate this a good hotel, good value right in the heart of the action.
Travel tip : Get to the pool early to secure a good position!

Location great. Friendly, helpful staff. It was our anniversary they sent a cake to my room. Steak restaurant excellent. Like some of the other reviews i read, it's true.
The bed was hard and the pillows were like rocks. I stayed in Bangkok at the Sheraton hotel for three days,then flew to Phuket and stayed at the Holiday Inn. The room at the holiday Inn was larger almost like a suite. I stayed in the Busakorn Wing which is nice because you get a seperate pool and breakfast area, and you can use all the other areas also. The swimming pools are large and some have bars by them. The buffet breakfast was good, dinner buffet just Ok. The Steak house restaurant is excellent, as good as in California. The have happy hour every day which is great, but they let anyone including kids sit at the bar, while people are smoking. They should have a no smoking section.The Hotel is very Kid friendly, so for families this is a good hotel, next to everything. The staff is very friendly and helpful, anything i needed they helped me. My wife wanted to stay up higher on another floor and they accomindated us and moved us to the third floor. The Thai food served was just Ok also, but compared to some of the restaurants on the street it was better. Some of the restaurants on the strip across from the ocean charge way to much, be careful, anything that reads market price- find out the price first. My wife and I ate 2 thai dishes, 2 very small lobsters, 1 beer and 1 wine, came out to $125.00 American dollars. Overall the Holiday Inn is a good resort, as good as the Sheraton, but there beds need to be softer and the pillows.
Hotel Feature Tip : Eat at the Steak house and order the special which gives you free wine.

the location was very good - the staff were very friendly, the hotel was newly renovated and therefore modern and new The location of hte hotel was right across from the beach and in the heart of all the good street shopping which was great. The staff were wonderful and spoke very good enlgish. The buffet breakfast was absolutely beyond belief. The premised being newly renovated were wonderfully clean and modern - extremely good hotel
Restaurant Tip : Great food - Deng and No 6 also Sabai Sabai. Leather wear hard to find but Friendship Leather and massage place - Emotion Spa ask for Pat

The pool, ambience, decor, cleanliness, house keeping and more importantly hospitality and caring attitude of the staff apparently, such modern hotel should have got atleast wireless internet service so that at leisure, somebody can even use the internet on pool side bar or in any restaurant.
another lacuna is that inspite of being the hotel in the beach front, from Busakorn Wing, you can not make out whether you are in the city or on the beach front. this is a perfect holiday stay for spending few nights in Holiday Inn. during holidaying , you need perfect caring staff which Holiday Inn has got in Phuket. They are very helpful during any time of the day. The Breakfast is very good and they make elaborate arrangement. The Pool side bar at Busakorn wing is a great experience. Rooms are elegantly furnished and has got great pool side view. However, in line with the size of the rooms, distribution of air-conditioning duct is inadequate and takes longer time. The Toilet arrangement is a new concept to me, but we did not like the arrangement as it creates lot of inconvenience. anyway, overall, the experience of staying in this hotel was very good and given the opportunity, we would like to get back to this place

The kids Club, the pools, the food Being so big it seemed a little impersonal at times This Hotel was fantastic. We stayed in a standard room with a view of the kids pool. A little noisy during the day - but who sleeps then? I was travelling with a five and an almost two year old - both of whom loved the hotel. We had difficulty prying the five year old out of the kids club - and if it wasnt for the fact that we had to come home eventually - she would probably still be there now. We had breakfast included - and it was a huge selction. By day three of our six night tsay we had to start cutting down on breakfast- we were eating far too much! The nightly buffets start from around 399baht - but dont forget to add on the 10% service fee and 7% VAT. Over all - I was very impressed - and I'm in the travel biz!
Shopping Tip : Across the road - next door to the 7/11 is a small souvenir shop that we found to be the cheapest in town. Barely needed to bargain as the longer you stand there the more they drop the price. Also the tour desk outside the 7/11 is way cheaper than the hotel. Dont forget - you can bargain for tours also!!!

very nice hotel located just beside the beach. Breakfast is good. Staffs are friendly and the best thing about this hotel is walking distance to most attractions ie the infamous Patong beach, bangla soi and shopping mall.

Nice & helpful staff, convenient location, spacious & clean room, great swimming pool, good breakfast. No big sofa in superior twin room. The drying racks located in balcony are very dusty. Very convenient location close to the beach and various choice for eat just next to the hotel. Spacious room and big swimming pool with jacuzzi. All staff are very nice and helpful. The security guard were helped us to stop the cars when we across the street to the beach. It's very nice that we can redeem our welcome drinks in the pool bar. Holiday Inn should be our first choice when we visit phuket next time. Highly recommended the hotel to everyone.
Shopping Tip : Must negotiate for the price. Can cut more than half.

Holiday provided a great location with everything at your door step. Busakorn wing is certainly the wing to stay in. -normal wing is outdated and run down
- service could be improved The normal wing is outdated and certainly in need of a revamp.
Whilst the service is ok, you really are treated just like a number. When we went to discuss our unhappiness with the room in the normal wing they were more than happy to upgrade us but at a cost.
We had stayed at The Chava in Surin Beach where you are literally treated like royalty. The service there was personal and unmatched in regards to attention paid. At Holiday Inn you dont receive the same level of service and you are paying the same money at both resorts.

Beautiful pool; fantastic pool bar (and happy hour!); luxurious rooms. Food at the hotel is slightly on the expensive side (compared to what you can get just outside of the hotel). Great hotel in the middle of Patong. Would recommend staying at the Busakorn wing over the main wing.

Very kid friendly and excellent location Bedding and mattress quality can be improved Spent two nights at this resort in Sep 2009, kids had a great time, thanks to excellent kids club and swimming pools, hotel fronting patong beach and so easy access,good pool bar as well with 50 % discount during happy hours, overall an enjoyable stay.

a kid friendly hotel, good breakfast buffet renovation is needed for rooms in main wing The reason I chose this hotel is because its location and facilities for kids. I am glad it did not fail me. However, If you don't want a lot of kids running around the pool, I suggest you should consider other hotel. There's a 7-Eleven accross the street, you can get stuffs here for a cheaper price than the "convenience store" of hotel.

Right in the heart of Patong Beach, comfortable clean rooms, great pool Constant harrasment walking around the area outide the hotel The Holiday Inn Resort is fantastically located in the heart of Patong Phuket. The Rooms are clean and comfortable with everything you need from a mini mart to numerous bars and restaurants. The staff are friendly and helpful. The breakfast at the hotel is outstanding. The pool area is lovely and this resort woul be fantstic to take a family to with facilities for kids. We really enjoyed our stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you need laundry done, don't pay alot in the hotel. We took ours to one of the tour desks and go it done much more cheaply with no problems.

CLOSE TO THE BEACH SHOPPING Overall this was a very nice hotel with clean and good size rooms. The buffet breakfast was very nice and outlook over the pool was nice. The swimming pool was a good size and very nice with plenty of area to sunbathe. The staff were quite nice and helpful with a good tour desk. Even though it was on the main part of patong beach it was quiet.

it's very near face the sea n the location are very good the internet is very expensive for bath 200 2hrs , i think it should free of charge also most of hotel do so the service very good and the view are so nice , i enjoy to stay there .
