sleepover only...
location, well known franchise,
7.7
this was mainly to house a family member who had to come in at a different time from our main contingent... hotel staff from Holiday Inn Phi Phi were very helpful in connecting us a couple of times when we were experiencing some issues with our mobile lines...
all in too short (just overnight) a stay to leave any significant impression on other areas...

great location for holiday
staff service is great, well mannered. food buffet is super and lots of fresh fruits daily.

the room is clean but not so quiet at night time. maybe people party too much.
the only downside is that I experienced mosquito bites every night inside the room.
Hotel Feature Tip:
there are two wings inside Holiday Inn.
the older wing is cheaper in price and can only use the old pool which is right next the big noisy street.
the newer wing is a bit more expensive, the pool is much nicer.
however the buffet breakfast in both wings are similar.

It was an unexpected pleasant stay. It was a last minute booking and other hotels were fully booked xcept this one so I just gathered that it probably was because it wasn't a popular one hence my low expectations. Anyway, it was overall a pleassant stay with an above average room and great breakfast buffet.

Great location, great rooms, great pool area.
Pool was nice, service was great.
8.3
Hotel adds 10% on every bill. Pool drink service, room service, laundry etc. I found this underhanded as I would prefer to tip the service person myself. I'm not sure if the service person actually gets the 10% service charge.
The pool closes at 8 so if your like me and enjoy a nighttime swim before bed, your out of luck. also the business center keeps the same hours, so finish what you need by 8.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Street venders can be annoying. to combat this wear earphones. this way you can ignore the venders politely. (they think you can't hear them).
There is a very nice mall a 10 minute walk away from the hotel. the mall is modern and has movies all kinds of stores, and in the basement a siam shopping experience for local stuff. This mall also has many coffee shops and restaurants.

Good, solid 4-star property.
Location, friendly staff, spacious rooms.
7.3
this hotel has been a feature of the patong beach scene for many years. fortunately, there seems to be an emphasis on maintenance by the owners and this results in a hotel that never really shows its age.
the staff with whom i interacted were delightful and the location - just far enough away from the beach and other crowds, yet only 10 minutes walk to soi bangla - makes it the ideal destination.
two points that are particularly worthy of note:-
1. this is a family-friendly hotel so if you have a room overlooking the pool, you will be woken early - the fact that there are gaping gaps at the bottom of the bedroom doors does nothing towards sound-proofing.
2. if you are going for a short trip across a week-end and enjoy drinks and dinners out with bottles of wine, make sure that you will note be staying across an election. last sunday, 26th august was election day, as is the coming sunday, 3rd september and all bars and restaurants in phuket province, including room service in hotels, stop serving alcohol from 18:00 on saturday until 00:01 on monday. as i was there from friday till sunday, i found the fact that there was no mention of this on the hotel website at the time of booking both irritating and somewhat deceptive.
Restaurant Tip:
There are all sorts of dining opportunities in Phuket.
My favourite places of all are:-
Boathouse, Kata Beach - http://www.boathousephuket.com/boathouse_wine_grill/
Ka Jok See, Phuket Town
Baan Rim Pa, Patong Beach - http://www.baanrimpa.com/
Joe's Downstairs, Patong Beach - http://www.baanrimpa.com/
Savoey - http://www.savoeyseafood.com/ (The only place open selling alcohol during election time. To quote the maitre d', "My boss bigger than police." Have to love that!!

thanks for the great time. i loved everything about the hotel especially the pool bars and quick wifi. i would go back there to stay in a heart beat.
Hotel Feature Tip:
keep your door locked cause the room service personnel just like to walk in without notice or they dont wait for you to answer the door if they do knock...

Great hotel and freindly service
first class service, excellent facilities, good food, good location.
9.7
I have stayed at the Holiday Inn Resort, Phuket on 4 different occasions and each time have received the same friendly, helpful service.I hadn't been there for 5 years ,but the staff were aware of the fact that I had been there previously. they greeted me as if I had been there last month.Everyone at the hotel is helpful and friendly..even the man cleaning the pool in the morning helped me an umbrella.
I had forgotten my phone charger and when I wen to ask at the desk if they had one I could borrow they said no but offered to charge my phone at the desk.
The rooms are always very clean and well appointed. there wasn't a single thing that I felt was missing. Both pools are always clean and staff are available for poolside service of food/drinks.
There seem to be lots of activities for children and some for adults as well.
The food at the various restaurants is good.
The beachfront location is excellent and though it is sandwiched between two major thoroughfares the hotel itself is a comfortable oasis.
My reservation, made through Agoda, had no problems and when I contacted the hotel itself afterword the reply was prompt and my questions answered.
I constantly recommend The Holiday Inn Resort Phuket to friends and travelers
Excellent value for money.
