Highly recommended for families with young kids

We stayed in Holiday Inn Resort Phuket Mai Khao Beach for 4 nights last week, and it is amazing.
The hotel is located near the airport. As we took a night flight to Phuket from Hong Kong, plus I booked a minivan from the hotel to pick us up, it took only less than 30 minutes to arrive.
We checked in and they drove a golf car to drop us downstair of where our room is, though it's only 200m away from the reception desk.
The room is neat and clean and they have arranged a baby cot with pillow and blanket for my 1.5 year old daughter which I've requested when I booked via Agoda.
They serve buffet breakfast in J's cafe which is right on the left hand side of our building. The staff there are excellent and they keep calling my children's name every morning when we walked in.
My daughters (4 yrs and 1.5 yr old) enjoyed playing in their kids club so much and my older one participated in a class too.
There is a counter where you can pre-book local tour or buying tickets for e.g. Phuket FantaSea.
Mai Khao beach is about 300-400m away from my building and the swimming pool is right next to the beach.
All 4 of us enjoyed our stay very much and highly recommend for families travelling with young kids.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Since the hotel is located far away from the city area e.g. Patong, it costs about THB1000+ for one-way taxi. The staff at conciege once recommended us to book a taxi which charge THB400 per hour and the driver can wait and take us from one place to another.
We booked this on our first day but the driver drove really slow on the road, i.e. his driving speed was 60km/h but normally people drives 80km/h, I had a feeling that he was trying to extend the driving time so he could earn more.
So it's up to you to consider!

my son loved staying at this hotel as the facilities for children his age were really good. the kids club kept him occupied when he was tired of being in the sun. the kids pool along with the bouncy castle and trampoline kept him busy for most of the day. the hotel itself is fairly new and the rooms are spacious and well designed. there is a good selection at breakfast and the food is not bad. i probably wouldn't stay more than 3 nights as there is nothing much to do around mai khao but overall, we enjoyed our stay.

As a family with three children - 5 and 3 years, and 6 months respectively - this hotel seemed to match our needs perfectly, and we were not at all disappointed. The facilities were very good - clean and modern and our kids suite room was great. Our two older children were thrilled to have their own bunk bed, tv and games console, in their own completely separate room! The hotel staff were extremely friendly and helpful, going out of their way to make us feel welcome and assist with anything. Tasty pizzas from the poolside bar/restaurant and a good selection of food from the breakfast buffet. A great multi-level pool, perfect for all ages, including our little 6 month old girl who really enjoyed splashing around in there. They also have a medical centre on-site with a nurse who can give basic treatment and point you towards a doctor if necessary. Really clean beach and a gently lapping ocean right next to the hotel. We will be going again!
