Very friendly staff.

Met expectations. Although the airport transfer was not good. First we were told to contact the hotel ourselves to arrange it. it took several exchanges of emails to get a contact number. i eventually found it on the hotel web site. then we were told it would cost Bt 1,500 each way. very expensive given how much we were paying for two rooms. We were not met at the exit as promised. and the driver did not have a sign with our name on it. so it was difficult to locate him when he eventually turned up. And having to pay for wifi is 20th century. The pool bar was disgusting. It was tired, poorly stocked and looked filthy. It had old machines and cartons scattered across the shelves. It was just not reflecting a very high standard.

Good hotel for family with kids
good gym and good access to the pools, beach and shopping

This is a good hotel for families with young kids with close access to the beach. Some of the equipment was not in good working condition eg air con and doors. The food could have been a bit more creative however it was very good for kids. Overall this was a good hotel for the price and would recommend this hotel to others

"amazing hotel with an amazing view"

What you would think of when one thinks of a Tropical Paradise or Resort. Hidden in the hills in the jungle about 1 hour from Phuket's airport. The resort is complete with beautifully landscapping everywhere, glorous pool and surroundings, waterfall into the pool, view of the beach and mountains close by. A place I will definately return to some day soon.
Hotel Feature Tip:
One of the great things about this hotel is that it has a sister hotel in the close by city and they provide a shuttle bus back and forth on a regular basis so you can get into town and back to enjoy the wonderful bars, restaurants and shopping without any hassles.

Restaurant served good food, but there was no bar to relax in and have a couple of drinks, had to use the mini bar in the room.

we usually spend our winter holidays in europe but this year decided to visit thailand. trip advisor site was of a great help in choosing where to go and stay and we decided on horizon in karon beach. we loved the hotel, relaxed atmosphere and ever smiling and helpful staff members. our room had a pool view and some limited sea view. some people complained about tv in room was not an lcd but we never had a chance to turn it on. also some complained that the bed is to hard but we never had any troubles falling asleep and having a good night rest. food, breakfast and dinner was fabulous , there is something for everyone, even for very fussy eaters, the only thing i noticed was absences of cheese for breakfast buffet but one day there was a roast duck for breakfast so no complaints. drinks can be purchased in restaurant and are very reasonably priced apart for wine, again we had a french red and price was 1000 baht, expensive for thailand but last year in greece similar bottle of wine we paid 60 euro's. hotel location is perfect, not far from anything, on the hill and every evening after dinner we went for a stroll around karon or kata beach, again some people complained that hill is too hard to walk but no problems at all and if you do not want to walk there is tuk-tuk to take you up or down. hotel pools are great the only complaint s that last two days some unruly kiwi tourist decided to start jumping in the pool from waterfall creating great havoc. to conclude we were very happy with everything and are going back to horizon in december.

Lovely Thai-style hotel on a hill slope at the far end of Karon beach, with a very nice multi-level swimming pool and a smaller pool for young children. We were very surprise and delighted to be upgraded to superior sea view room on checking in. The room is spacious with romantic ambience and a view overlooking the Karon beach. There was heavy rain during our second and third day of stay. Our sleep were disturbed by the noise created by strong wind blow against the sliding door at the balcony. It was lucky for us to have dinner included as bad weather make travelling out of hotel difficult. The food was good. Dinner was served with a different theme every night, e.g Japanese on Monday, Thai style on Tuesday (with thai cultural dance and music), Brazilian on Wednesday etc. There was live performance during dinner every night. Complementary shuttle service to Patong is available 4 times a day but the earlist is at 1300 hour. The staff are pleasant, friendly and helpful. It's a good and nice hotel but older people with mobility problems will have difficulty moving from one place to another in the hotel, e.g restaurant on top floor. Wifi is free only for clients staying at club wing. (They have their own private pool as well)

Our hotel stay was ok, but the food was not so great. Breakfast was ok, but dinner so-so only. Have to climb up the hotel stairs many times, not advisable for older couples. The beds were hard.

What a nice place and such a good deal

We arrived at 3am in the morning and the staff still welcomed us with a smile, refreshing face towel, juicy punch and they help us to carry our bags! We got the deal with the breakfast buffet and dinner included. Breakfast was very good, so was dinner but one of the nights we stayed the theme was “International/Italian” which was OK but we just wanted to eat yummy Thai food all the time.
There’s a shuttle that will take you from and to Phuket at different times, we took it and found it very useful (saved some $$ as well). There’s also a little tuk-tuk that takes you to the hotel beach, you don’t really need as it’s just 2 blocks away. Beach was perfect, we believe it’s due to low season.. there were no big crowds like in Phuket. Also there are nice Thai restaurants to have lunch Thai massages places everywhere (make sure you try them!)
Restaurant Tip:
Take the hotel dinner option if you're shot for time. Nice buffet, note they didn't have Thai Food every night we were there. May be because it was low season?
