We most enjoyed the beautiful grounds, well maintained and the three totally different pools, especially the large children's pool that our infant son loved. We took a half day trip to Kho Island that was facilitated by the resort but not part of it, which was disappointing. The tour company was excellent, providing very nice van and speed boat, and safe and capable crew and a friendly and helpful young woman guide. The down side was that the beautiful island is overcrowded withmultintional tourists who more than a few litter the beach and clear waters with trash! Very sad to see this. You may also want to bring your own lunch since the one provided is so/so, consisting of small sandwiches, soggy Po pia (spring rolls), and bananas. Plenty of bottled water and sodas were provided.
- Restaurant Tip : We had a wonderful lunch at a Thai-French restaurant in Phuket Town called Dibuk in the road of the same name.

This is my 3rd stay at the Marriot hotel and I thoroughly enjoyed it. It was great to see improvements on food (especially breakfast) and around the children's pool area and Kids club.

Ask for when to see their elephants swimming in the sea and when the sunset ceremony starts at check in.
- Hotel Feature Tip : Enjoy the sunset while lying at one of the nooks in the south pool!

The best resort in Phuket, a bit expensive, with excellent facilities, and great for children.
- Restaurant Tip : Good restaurants are not easy to find in Phuket. Recomend Siam Supper Club near Laguna, 30 minutes from JW Marriott. Menu has Italian,Thai/European fusion and delicious desserts. Check http://www.siamsupperclub.com/home.htm for the menu.
