stayed in kamala beach inn for 4 nights. although the staff were very welcoming and helpful, the hotel is in desperate need of renovating. the room was simple and clean, but there was a strong smell of mildew and it was dark with no view from the tiny balcony. breakfast was v.simple with no variety. location is ok as the beach is only a short walk away, but if you are elderly or physically challenged in anyway it would be advisable to avoid this hotel and choose one of the many hotels along the beach front.
Nightlife Tip:
Nice resort for couples who want a quiet holiday or anyone with young children, but not advisable for young, single travellers. Nightlife consists of a selection of decent mid- range restaurants and a couple of small bars - not for party goers.

Problem list was long.
Missing smoke detector, only mount, no detector
First room strong mildew smell, got another room
No room safe, small safety deposit box at the desk
No hot water in 2nd room, first call no response, talk to desk, send guy, cannot fix, to send another person,but never did
Limited breakfast no heater on food, all cold
Wi-Fi in room terrible 1 bar then fails
150 baht/24 wifi access
finally move to another room after repeated calls

Tried to put us in a lower standard room than the one booked, they did change over when we raised it, the kamala suite do not have any windows and the air conditioning not efficient
Very limited breakfast just around corner to Kamala town, if you need a suit this is the town to go to, feels like tailors every 3rd shop!
