Stay at hotel was pleasant with good views however the bed was uncomfortable. Rooms are spacious but design and furnishings are poor comparative to how much potential the hotel offers. Overall a great stay away from the hustle and bustle but easily accessible to the action in a moment.

Enormous rooms with great views
The staff treated me very well. The room was enormous and impeccably clean. The was a rain shower and a bath with views of the bay. The food in the restaurant was good and convenient.

The location isn't within easy walking distance of shops or the beach, but the staff can organise a tuktuk for 100 Baht. Coming back in the evening it cost 200 Baht. It's not far, but all up hill. The solitude of being up the hill, surrounded by lush gardens and with panoramic views made it worthwhile for me. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay here.

Grand New Hotel overseeing the Karon Beach....

New Hotel was opened on January,2011, comfortable and enjoyable spacious room area. All the rooms can see the Karon Beach as its location situated on the lower hillside. Fantastic swimming pool give the travellers a relaxing and enjoyable moment. Within 10 minutes walking can meet the need of shopping and dinning along the main road. Nice staff speaking well English gave an impression of sincerity and helpfulness.
Shopping Tip:
There is a night market opening in the Temple (Yellow Grand New one, But the name is unknown) every Tuesday and Saturday nearby the hotel . Great variety of T-shirt, shoes, daily necessity, fruits and Thai food can be choosen.

Terrible location, ingratiating staff

I regret deeply choosing the Karon Phunaka Hotel. From the momeent I arrived being faced with mountainous walkways and insurmountable staircases (I was on the second lowest level!) to the scandalous costs of in-house taxis which you HAVE to use as their is NO alternative. The so-called inclusive breakfast was as basic as it can get leaving one craving for the first visit of the day to find a cafe/restaurant.
The so-called 'pool'is nothing more than a concrete cathment pit for the waterfall down the mountain which the hotel is situated on with NO access or egress point.
Travel tip:
there are hundreds of hotels in Phuket which I would gladly visit but this is not one of them.

Un trés bel hôtel, legerement en dehors de la ville. L'hôtel est en hauteur sur la colline et permet d'avoir une trés belle vue sur la plage de Karon et de profiter d'un beau coucher de soleil. Le petit dejeuner est varié et copieux.
Une navette permet de rejoindre la plage. Le retour de la plage se fait à pied en 30 minutes.
