cramped resort but good rooms

we stayed over the peak season so budget played a part in the choice of this hotel. for what we paid, it was good value. but if we were to visit during low or shoulder season we would choose somewhere else for these reasons
location - its located up a hill which isnt the bad thing - its the walk passed rubbish dumps, horrible waste land that is the big turn off. once this is more developed in a few years it wont be so much of an issue.
hotel itself - not really a resort, more a hotel with a pool in the middle. its cold too as the surrounding buildings prevent it from being heated by the sun. our room (from the back) overlooked a sewage treatment plant.
service was ok, apart from the reception lady handing us dvd's to borrow in thai, and reception making us wait whilst they "check the room". the lady in the bar doesnt seem too happy about giving you happy hour prices neither - you have to remind her.
rooms - the ground floor are best. spacious and comfortbale with terrace outside. if you dont have the ground floor then you cant really jump from sunbed to pool, and there arent many available sunbeds poolside for anyone to use .
Restaurant Tip:
Ska bar /restaurant at the end of Kata beach . Good food and very cheap.

For comfort & quality you cannot go past the Dewa
family room so that we could all be together, beautiful pool

we had a lovely stay at the dewa karon beach. the family room was large and comfortable with two bathrooms and a small kitchenette. the bedrooms had sliding glass doors so you could walk around the enclosed verandah. staff were fantastic, friendly and very obliging with every request. short walk to the beach which was just beautiful, crystal clear water and warm to swim in. the pool at the resort was also beautiful and spent many hours in it. i really enjoyed my stay there and would highly recommend this resort for a relaxing family stay.

great pool and big rooms but beach a walk away

basically agoda rates are at least 20% more expensive than the internet rates of hotel. paid ringgit malaysia ++ for a junior suite whereas if i booked direct with hotel it was ++. very unhappy but it was no refund cancellation!

Big room, good environment and good food. Only draw back is need about 10 minutes walk to the main road and street. Walk to the beach take about 15 minute. The beach is very beatiful.
Restaurant Tip:
Within 10 minuts walk, there are lots of restaurant and shops. There is no need to take a taxi actualy.

Great hotel with fantastic service

Dewa Karon was a great hotel, away from the hustle and bustle and great for relaxing and could not fault the service. Staff were very friendly and helpful. The kids loved the pool. The rooms were clean and very comfortable. Happy hour by the pool was fantastic. The breakfast was great and the restaurant food really good too. Would recommend the hotel to other families and couple wanting to relax.

We booked a family suite with bf. It was great room 2beds 2 toilets with kitchen area. The pool and jacuzzi were amazing around the island restaurant. Here is the 1st choice for family room in Karon beach

You should rent a car for travelling anywhere on Phuket

excellent hotel. clean, big rooms, helpfull staff. breakfast was simple but good. little bit further from town center, but there is taxi cervise infront of hotel. everyday bus transportation to the beach and back. i recommend this hotel to all kinds of travellers.
