I have been to Kata for 5 day stop over from Europe to NZ. I enjoyed my stay, breakfast was very good, sometime the capacity of the dining area was not enough which is pretty bad considering this was low season. I used the gym couple of times- it is pretty basic but the machines are fairly new. Overall good experience.

this hotel is beautifully decorated in thai style. i wish we stayed longer because there was some fun activities offered at the hotel like thai cooking classes and fruit carving lessons. even though we didn't have a beach view or pool view room it was well worth our money. the grounds were beautifully maintained. the hotel is close to other "distractions" but it is so beautifuly you really don't need to go anywhere else. we enjoyed the breakfast buffet in the mornings and we sampled the boutiful seafood available in thailand at the seafood grill dinner in the main dining room. the staff were wonderful, effecient and professional. we didn't pre-arrange our transfer to ao nang but consulted the onsite travel agent and were pleasantly surprized with the number of options we had. we would definitely stay here again.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Stay for more than a few days and enjoy the pool. You get a wonderful view of the water and all the surfers on off season.

Breakfast is a bit poor, and hotel staffs need to be friendly or smile a bit more.

"Great Atmosphere But Lack Of Smiles"
Nice View, Away From The hustle & bustle.
5
Hotel was strategicly located as it was away form Patpong area. Ideal for family with children. we had nice sew view room which we upgraded upon check-in. However hotels staffs seem to be working too hard or I guess or it just too expensive to smile. They are not fluent in english thus making communication difficult. They had a seafood buffet claiming lobsters but actually serving crayfish, best part staffs don't know the difference between lobsters and crayfish. Lack of information knowledge on amenities. It would be great if they had a 24hr room service as restaurants and bars in Kata area close early. Wouldn't highly recommend to friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Have water and mosquito sprays always.

Lovely hotel with fantastic location
Balcony with view of the beach, great pool area
10
Hotel is nice and big and airy we had good room with a balcony that had a view of the sea. The location is exceptional you are literally right on the beach. The area is good to not as crowed and touristy as Papong Beach. Very luxurious feel. Lovely friendly staff and cocktails in coconuts. Woud suit business people, couples, families, evereyone!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Organise an airport transfer and prepay it. Make life a lots easier

It was my partners birthday while we were over there. We spent the day on Phi Phi island and when we returned to our hotel, management had organized a cake for him. We were very touched.

Location, location.
Very central, reasonable quality.
6.7
The whole place is a little "tired" and in need of a refurb. However, our room was clean and comfortable - it was not poolside - and had a balcony from where you could see the beach, the mountain and the local bus stop. We ate only once in the hotel at a "special" Thai dinner and were unimpressed. Eat out anywhere else is good, and we especially like the italian reataurant Capanina for a changewhen from the local food. The pool is good and a local desk can arrange snorkelling/dive trips. We did a day trip to Raya Isalnd which was well worth the money and a good day. The beach is right at the front and has a handy bar for drinks and cheap eats. Out the other side you are right in the middle of kata where there is an endless array of eateries and massage places. We treated ourselves to the full pedicure/manicure thing - fantatsic. We have stayed at Karon and Patong but give us Kata anyday!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Do a day trip snorkelling or sea kayaking OR just hang at the resort!

Great resort hotel, for a price you cant beat
Location, room, service, restourants nearby the hotel, cheap shopping nearby
8.7
for the price we paid a night, i honestly dont know if you can beat this resort hotel. it's clean, with friendly and helpful staff, and all around it you can find very decent restaurants, shopping and entertainment.
Restaurant Tip:
Eat out, its much much cheaper and just as nice
