Right on the beach
Kata town is right on the doorstep
7.3
The hotel was busy during our stay, sunbeds are reserved early in the morning and by 10am they were usually all gone and it is a large pool area. Right on the beach with a few small places to eat and have massage.
Rooms were ok, a bit dated, but large enough with and extra child bed in.
Outside the front of the hotel are restaurants and bars and it is a nice area to walk around in the evening. The only downside, no free wifi. But this is easily solved, don't pay the hotel prices, go to the 7/11. Get a Happy SIM for your phone and top up vouchers. That way you can connect to the Internet for a week for the same price the hotel would charge for a day

Great Location, very friendly and helpful staff
Location, both on beach but close to small shops and bars. Friendly and helpful staff

Perfect for what we wanted.
Hotel clean, food fine, pool great, beach great, area outside hotel safe and relatively quiet.
Also, perfect weather. July is supposedly rainy season, but not a drop of rain in 6 days. I have been to Phuket in March when supposedly dry, and it rained solidly for 4 days. Don't take too much notice of weather guides.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
If you do James Bond Island trip, some trips have a 90-120 minute car trip to get to the boat. I believe there are speedboat trips that leave much closer.

Great pool area, enjoyed the location on Kata Beach

Our service was good, not over the top, but helped us if we needed it. Settled us in and made up the couch for an extra bed very quickly. It was late and our kids were tired.

we stayed at kat beach resort for 11 nights, both myself and my family were really pleased with the accommodation which was large, clean and well designed. the location was right on the beach which my wife loved as she enjoyed going for early morning strolls. all the staff were helpful and friendly. the only negative point was that there was no free wifi other than that we highly recommend the hotel and will definitely be back for another visit.

Had a perfect stay. Location is definitely the best in kata, directly at the beach. Food ist definitely ok, although lacks a little bit of variety, which mean that breakfast gets a little borig after a while, but certainly no big problem. No complaints at all. Room absolutely fine, service ok too. Pool is nice too - had a great stay t this hotel and would book again if i came back to kata beach.

Great location and good sized rooms
Location right on the beach, spacious rooms, good air con
7.7
Great to be right next to beach and able to take pool towels down to the the sun loungers on the beach. The main pool turned green while we were there so swimming in the sea was our preference. The maid service was prompt and the front desk was helpful and polite. A good family hotel.
Restaurant Tip:
Avoid Big Mammas which is one of the many restaurants set back off the main road. The worst food and service in our entire trip to Thailand.

Great location
The location is it's strongest selling point for me. Staff were friendly and worked around a late request as much as possible.

We all enjoyed the stay. The location meant an easy walk to the restaurants. It is a beachfront hotel so we couldn't have got any closer to the surf.

Terrible customer service!
Nice location, right on beach.
4.3
The front desk staff was not only extremely unhelpful, but they were down right mean. When we checked in we had been traveling for many hrs. And our daughter was quite sick. It was already quite late in the evening, about 8pm. There was a discrepancy regarding weither or not the breakfast was included in our room. I told them several times that my daughter was quite ill and that I was to concerned with the breakfast at that time. I asked if I could please get her settled into the room and then I would come right back down and deal with the breakfast. The woman I was mainly dealing with got very angry with me and began yelling in my face refusing me entrance to my room (which I had already paid for in advance or I would have left immediately), an argument ensued where I told her she either had to let me into my room or refund my money. By this point my daughter was crying and very sick and upset stuck sitting in the lobby. They never even offered her a chair or glass of water. Nothing. She handed me my key finally, or rather chucked it at me after one of her colleges said something to her in Thai and pulled her back from leaning across the front desk and yelling at me. I had the room key, my passport, and some other personal effects on the counter when I turned and stepped away from the counter for one second to check on my daughter. The woman literally lept across the desk liked crazy, deranged lunatic and grabbed everything and took off into the back. I was forced to spend the next 20-30 mins practically begging for my things back and wondering what the heck was happening?! Needles to say we avoided the front desk as much as possible, but the next day I had to buy an Internet card so I went back down. Again everyone was very rude. When I got back to my room the card they had given me, that had been already scratched before being handed over, did not work. I went back down to try to explain only to receive a waving of hands in my face and a no we don't believe you.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Avoid this hotel at all costs. There were many other travellers complaining as well in the lobby. Also be prepared to pay a minimum 7$ a day for beach chairs as none are provided.
