right in front of Kata beach
ideal for families with kids
spacious rooms
cheap in low season
staff is not as friendly as in other hotels
Overall I was satisfied with my stay. The big plus of the hotel is that it's right in front of Kata Beach (most beautiful beach in Phuket). Rooms are big and clean, yet a little out of date (if compared to other 4 star hotels in Thailand). Breakfast is good, but not extraordinary. The Rates are cheap in the low season and worth the money. I would't go and stay there in the high season. Staff is ok, but not as friendly as in other hotels.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Kata Beach

I loved the beach front setting - on the beach but privacy secured. Short walking distance from the shops in Kata.
Buffet breakfast was excellent and relaxed with an optional view (if sat outside)of the Andaman Sea.
Our room was superb - spacious and clean again with a wonderful view of the beach and sea
Very friendly and helpul staff on reception
Our room was quite a long walk from the elevators
Spa was quite expensive
Internet was limited
TV channels not extensive - and poor quality TV set in the room - upgrade to flat screen LCD asap
Room got very hot 8when we were out)and took a while to cool down once the key inserted and the a/c on
We were only given one key for a double occupancy room
On balance - we enjoyed our short stay (4 days) at the hotel and the pros definitely outscore the cons. The hotel is beautifully situated right on the beach and is tastefully designed to blend into the beach setting. Our privacy was secured and we were never bothered by hawkers while enjoying the sunsets over the Andaman Sea. we would recommend the hotel for families - we have teenage daughters who are often difficult to please - but they enjoyed our short family holiday and showed no visible signs of boredom throughout their stay.

pool, access to the beach, breakfast, service
mozzys in the room, pool bar to expensive, on food and drink, and hotel taxi service to expensive
Kata beach resort such a nice place for couples, not good for single people, unless you just want to chill. But can be expensive. Recomend you eat out every time. Beach amazing and water so warm like a bath and very clean and right on doorstep. Still it's nice to have to swim to get yer beer in the pool. Worth going with yer lover. very romantic, me think's.
Hotel Feature Tip : Always get your taxis from outside the hotel. And haggle It will save you a fortune.
And Eat lunch and evening meal out in the town really good food for small money better than hotel

Close to the beach, very clean, nice hotel, friendly staff, quiet atmosphere, no entertainment, close to bars and restaurants in Kata Beach.
Expensive food and drinks in the Hotel itself, you have to pay for sunbeds on the beach (200 Baht/day)but sunbeds at pool are free, we went in low season so the hotel was only about 25% full which made it nice but quite quiet.
Very nice vacation, super relaxing. Kata Beach had nice waves so we could go surfing on the beach during the days. since we went in low season the hotel was pretty empty and so was Kata Beach. There are a few nice restaurants close by as well as pharmacies, 7 eleven, Spas etc. It's probably different in high season. Wouldn't recommend for families with small kids, because of big waves and there is no playground or other activity for kids in the hotel.

I went with a friend, and we had a wonderful time. The location was fantastic and the chairs by the pool were a wonderful place to spend each day.

Conveniently located near all major cities (Patong, Phuket Town, etc.) and is right on the beach. Friendly and helpful staff.
Mosquitos-but they can't help that, they're everywhere.
Kata Beach Resort & Spa is the best place to stay in Phuket. It is conveniently located close to all the major cities if you would like to go sightseeing or if you just want to hang out at your hotel, it's right on the beach. They have the friendliest staff who always go out of their way to make sure you have everything you need. If you are on a budget, just walk across the street from the hotel and there are many inexpensive restaurants and shops to choose from. I will definitely stay here again when I come back to Phuket.

Everything from the warm welcome with free herbal drinks, the bellboys quick and discrete service, the PERFECT twice a day roomcleaning, the variated hotelbreakfast to the friendly assistance when checking out is accompanied by a warm friendly smile
Why does the hotel NEVER remove the red flag that warn the guests from swimming in the sea ?
Kata Beach Resort represents the true Thai spirit. The service is perfect, the food is excellent and the hotel is luxurious. On top of that the hotel is situated at the best part of Kata beach. This was my fourth trip to this hotel, and believe me when I say I´ll be back. The friendly atmosphere is hard to describe in words.
Restaurant Tip : The Pepino Restaurant at the hotel is definately worth a visit

On the Beach, in the middle of all the action
Rude Staff, not enough day beds, depressing Rooms
After staying 6 nights at Ayara Hilltops at Surin Beach, we decided to move to a beach with a little more action but not as much as Patong. The Kata/Karon area fit the bill perfectly. Reading other reviews and checking out the hotel from the outside, it seemed like a idealic place and as such we booked for 4 nights. However, upon arrival we were shocked at the rudness of the staff. We were served by two european students(?) who were quite rude. First of all, they asked for our passports. I provided mine, however, my partner still had hers in the baggage in the car. They refused to allow her to present her passport after we had checked in.. they already had mine! Secondly, they asked for the Agoda Voucher. Unfortunately, I had not printed it out (never had to before). I asked if they had a business center I could use to print it out. They said they had a business center (100baht) but no printer! Eventually, one of the Thai front desk staff offered an email address we could forward it on to (we decided to take our internet business to a nearby merchant to forward email)
Next we were escorted to our room by the porter. To my suprise, he continued to wait at the door until he was given a tip! A first for me in Thailand.
The room was located on the ground floor.. and although clean and larger then average, felt like a cage, dark and claustrophobic. It had a small outdoor area, but was surrounded by walls.
That day, we decided to cancel the remainder of our stay (at a 1 night penalty) and move to another accommodation.. and so glad we did it.
I would really only recommend this resort for the older traveller (seemed like the resorts main clientèle) and only if you manage to get a room with views of the beach/sea or atleast windows to let in fresh air.
Definitely not recommended for couples seeking a romantic location. For the money, can definitely find better accommodation.

Close to the beach, lots of restaurants and shopping
Ants in the room.
Balcony not so big, but we manage to get two extra chairs.
Enjoyed our stying at Kata Beach. Overall good atmotsphere. Personel, aircondition, breakfast and pool ok. Our 6 and 9 years old children also liked the beach. Good snorkeling! Relative short transfer to airport, about 45 min. Close to beach, restaurants and shopping. View from balcony towards mountains and palmtrees is relaxing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Longtail boat to some of the island and beaches south of Kata Beach. Good sand beaches. Adventurus snorkeling direct from the boat!

literally on the beach, as opposed to other hotels that claim they are but are inland, super friendly staff, modern amenities, pool with "swim -up" bar built in.
what a beautiful place. it must be noted that therer isn't much of a party scene, so don't go there looking for that, otherwise a great time, right on the beach. Did I mention the beautiful sunsets?

beach front, big pool, central location
bath room wasn't resortlike,
holding a place for poolside spoiled the mood
We stayed there in this January.
Although it's not so bad resort,
I don't think we could get value for our money.
For example, bath room was like budjet hotel
and the TV reception was poor.
As we paid aroud 250 dollars per night,
we expected more.
But beach front location is unique in Kata area.
Restaurant Tip : Mom tri's the boat house wine and grill is very good.
