Would go back in a flash and wish we had more time here. The staff were genuinely friendly, all staff, even the cleaners or ground staff greeted you as you walked past, regardless of what they were doing, thoroughly loved the people.
Shopping Tip : Oriental Massage Centre just up the road, great clean respectable low budget spa for massage, facials, full body mud masks, manicure, hair braids etc.

Only a couple of computers available so could be difficult to access at times This is a lovely hotel, within walking distance of beach and restaurants. The pool is lovely set within the gardens. The rooms overlook the pool with balcony so outlook is good. The bathroom was spacious with separate walkin shower. Our bedroom was huge. I would certainly return to Kata Palm.

Mosquitoes can be a problem but you can buy an efficient spray for your room.
Travel tip : Ma´s is the best restaurant we´ve come across. It´s on the paralell road.

Hotel taxi (transfer) has child seat upon request. Right now (February 2008) construction sites on both sides of hotel makes noise.
Nightlife Tip : If you're looking for a nice hotel for you and your family, Kata Palm Resort in Kata is a wise choise. If you're looking for nightlife, stay at a hotel in Patong instead.

L'hotel è ottimamente posizionato a Kata Beach. Non è sulla spiaggia, che si trova a circa 200 metri, ma nella zona dei locali e dei negozi.
Il complesso è immerso in una vera e propria oasi verde ricca di piante tropicali e orchidee.
Le spaziosissime stanze(noi pernottavamo in una deluxe) sono arredate con bellissimi mobili etnici in stile thai e nel bagno troverete sia la vasca che un ampio box doccia.
La piscina, situata al centro del resort, si dirama in due parti che costeggiano le camere situate al piano terra, dando così a queste l'accesso diretto dal balcone.
La colazione all'americana è ottima così come il servizio spa.
VIVAMENTE CONSIGLIATO A TUTTI!

Our Kata resort experience began way before arrived at the resort. Our inquiry over the phone was promptly and courteously responded to by the resort staff. The quoted price for airport/resort transfer was so reasonable that you would think that the payment was only for the cost of fuel. Amenities provided by the hotel included fitness, wellness and relaxation. The hotel tried to compensate for the distance between the resort and the beach by providing free shuttle service to the beach. All the rooms had verandas that provided a panoramic view of beautiful grounds. Rooms were spacious and interior reflected indigenous Thai culture. The hotel also provided free wireless internet connection. Check-out time could be as late a 3:00 pm. Accommodation rates included free buffet breakfast. The resort also provided guided tours for a reasonable fee.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : A good time to visit Phuket is during the Loy Krathong festivities (usually taking place on the third weekend of November). For a satisfying meal that's affordable, be sure to look for Kata Mama restaurant.

The staff should have a little bit more language formation, sometimes was very difficult to make them to understand what we needed but they were always very friendly and willing to make our stay very confortable.

Purchase the 6litre mineral water from the mini bar. It's only 90 baht. This will save you the hassle of lugging mineral water from 7 Eleven i.e. about 10 mins leisure walk from the hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Try the pedicure and manicure from this shop which is opposite the pub, 'The Tavern'. Can't remember the shop name but the staff wears pink T-shirts. It is about 5 mins walk from the hotel.

This hotel would suit families or couples looking for a break from the world. You can either be busy each day or lounge around the pool drinking cocktails! The location was about three-minute walk from all the shops and five minutes to the beach.
Restaurant Tip : There are approximately 30 restaurants that are within five minutes from the hotel. Experiment and live a little. Keep an eye out for the pancake man on the main strip--banana and chocolate was my favourite!

There are plenty of restaurants on the road outside the hotel on the way to the beach, I would recommend a seafood restaurant as it is cheap and fresh here.
Restaurant Tip : Restaurant called Oyster had great food and service and never failed to disappoint us. We ate there every day.
