My parents and I have stayed here a number of times over the last 8 years and have never been disappointed. I have stayed here with my daughter as a baby up to five years old, she loves the pool and the staff are great with her.
I can happily recommend this hotel to anyone in this medium budget range. The staff are friendly, the breakfast fine, and rooms are comfortable.

kata Poolside is very well located near Kata beach, the hotel is average , the rooms in first floor have a balcony view to a ugly cement wall 1.5 mtr away.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Ask for you room be sprayed before entering ,otherwise mosquitos will festinate on you.
Internet wifi is useless and you have to pay by the hour for use it (and very pricy) , there are many locals with free wifi in the area where you can get connected while having some food ,drink or cofee.

Room was comfortable and adequate. Staff in the lobby made it easy to book tours. It is only a short five minute walk to the beach. It was quiet because it is set off the main road a half block.
Wished the staff spoke better English.

We stayed here for 4nights in August,but wish it had only been 2,We found the room okay,although they only provided tea and coffee on the first day,Not everyday as other resorts of this value do.The room was spacious and clean but the resort itself felt very cramped.We we're on the top floor,so the only access
was 3 flights of stairs or a ramp.So if you are elderly or have heavy suitcases it can be draining when you may do it several times a day.The pool is small and has limited chairs which are usually "reserved" with a towel early in the morning.
There is a restaurant which where your breakfast is served,but it has a grubby feel about it and quite a few flies around.
All in all,I would suggest you research for specials where I am sure you could get better value for money.After we left here
we went to a nearby resort which was fantastic and cost us less money.

The hotel was a pass-thru hotel for us. There slogan is "no view but good taste"- it definitely has absolutely no view, so if that is what you are looking for this is not the hotel for you. It is on the main beach road surrounded by lots of shopping, restaurants and bars and it is across the street from the beach, so it is very convenient. The rooms were very clean and spacious. It kind of had a musty smell, but once the air was on for a little bit the smell went away. The air worked well. The bed is kind-of hard, but that is a norm for Thailand. We only saw the pool at night so I can not say very much about that, but it did look like it needed to be cleaned. The hotel staff is very nice and speak English. We did not eat breakfast so I do not know what it is like. For the price though, it is good.
Hotel Feature Tip:
If you want chairs/umbrellas on the beach, you need to stay at a hotel that has some reserved because all of the chairs belong to hotels. I am sure for the right price you can buy your way into a chair.

We enjoyed Kata Poolside for the second time in 3 years. Close to the beach, friendly staff, clean pool and decent rooms. I would recommend including an air mattress in your suitcase as the beds are very hard. Overall I would recommend this hotel. It is far from luxurious but we're there for the beach, sun and great food. We paid $330 CAD for 8 nights to stay in our favourite destination. I say..perfect for the money.

A little out of the way but good sized rooms, only thing on the down side about the room was the view form the terrace, we backed straight onto a wall so not the best. Cleanliness of the room good and bed very comfy. Pool a good size, there is a pool bar but this wasnt open when we stayed.
Good value for money, reasonable selection of restaurants nearby.
