Fab swimming pools and nice rooms

i've stayed in lots of hotels during my travels in thailand over many years, and my prefernce is for 'boutique' rather than 'corporate'. the sea breeze definitley falls into the latter!
it's not so much a case of the hotel being the issue, more the management. let me elaborate: there are signs everywhere telling you to "not sit here", "don't touch this or that", don't feed the fish", don't eat food here (or be fined, yes fined!!, no entry - cctv (lots of those), staff only - yep cctv!...and on and on the signs go. what really, really put a tin lid on it all, given that i booked and paid in full online, was the absolute insistence, no, demand for 3000 baht on check in as a deposit for the room. and when you get to the room there is a list of the cost of everything from an ashtray to the tv to a glass, should you damage or break anything. and what's more, a massive premium is built into these prices. a glass for example, costing no more that 25 baht is priced at four times that figure. it is an insult and not at all in keeping with a welcoming, customer focussed hotel. and talking of customer focus - there isn't any - to the majority of the staff, customers are an irritation to the smooth running of their day!!!
finally, the place is mainly geared for the russian package holiday market they may well accept this high handed, overbearing and dictatorial management style. and if you too welcome this then you'll get on fine - i don't and as a result didn't. there are many, many, many more fabulous hotels available that are run by owners and managers who genuinley welcome you, want your business and charge far less into the bargain!!

Good Value and okay pools. Service with smiles.
7.7
The value was excellent, however not up to other more expensive hotel standards re the room, bathroom and breakfast.
Also the website falsely represents that there are room safes, which there are not and that wifi is included, however you have to pay for this. The girls were lovely on reception however struggled with English. When trying to negotiate for extra nights I was given 4 different prices (all expensive) until the manager gave me the room for the Agoda special price of the first three nights. All in all good value if paying the reduced price. Breakfast was okay but not up to other accommodation standards, but again this is in keeping with the lower price. The gym was upstairs on a roof and not airconditioned with very basic equipment. The girls in the day spa were lovely and massages good value. If travelling on a budget, I would stay there again, however next time will be in somewhere nicer like Sawasdee or Mom Tris. Regards all and happy and safe travels.

Restaurant Tip:
Gastone in Kata for the best Italian Pizza and Pasta outside of Italy and Sawasdee for the best atmosphere and great Thai food.

Great Value
clean large rooms, balcony, free breakfast, great value for the price
7.7
Stayed only 2 nights, it was low season so they were doing a bit of maintenance (which is good), rooms were large and clean, balcony overlooking pool was nice, air con worked well, hot water. We were very pleased with the room and the price of the hotel. It was a walk to the beach and not much else directly around the hotel but plenty of things in 5 minutes walking distance. The hotel breakfast was great, with plenty of options, and well done for the price we paid for the hotel. We were very satisfied with our stay. Didn't use the pool at all or the spa.
Restaurant Tip:
The Reggae Bar on Kata Beach has great atmosphere and cold drinks. The restaurant next door has excellent Thai food with a great view of the beach. Have dinner and drinks and watch the sunset over Kata beach. A great way to end the day.

I stayed with 2 friends. It was cheaper to book online than to go directly as I got breakfast included.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a place to have lunch on the beach for 99B and with rice add extra 20B

Good size for the room but just that getting taxi maybe a problem as they quote rather high price.
Overall, very pleasant stay.

Value for money on Kata beach
Closae to beach, large rooms, 2 pools, free parking
7.7
Kata Sea Breeze has an excellent location on Kata beach, one of the nicest sandy beaches in Phuket and the hotel is excellent value for its 3 stars, close to beach and with many good restaurants within 5 minutes walking distance. The large well equipped rooms leave you plenty of space to unpack your suitcases.

Kata Seabreeze
The hotel had a very resort-y feel to it. I especially loved the pools. One was around olympic length so I could do my laps and there was another smaller pool with a jacuzzi and bar attached. Very cool.
Service was good. The staff were pretty willing to help out with any requests and they were smiling all the time.
The rooms are huge! I was pretty impressed when I entered the door There was a day bed in the room and a king sized bed and there was still enough space to put another king sized bed in and still have space to walk. That's how big the rooms are. The balcony was a tad small but wads the use of staying in the balcony when you can lounge around on the comfy deck chairs surrounding the pool.
7.7
Overall a nice hotel to stay in if you want to relax. Pretty quiet area. Seabreeze was not near the 'happening' area which will be at the end of the stretch but it is around a 15-20 minutes walking distance. The beach is around 5-10 mins walk.
Shopping Tip:
Take the public bus. Terminal is located at the entrance of the beach. Its only 30 baht and along the route is Central Festival which is a huge shopping mall.
