This hotel overall was good. The rooms were a good size and the bathroom was very nice. The staff were great and you have about 4 pools to choose from. The beach in front of the hotel was very good with some great waves if you like surfing. The breakfast was also very good.

Near Kata Noi Beach

Room condition is totally contrast with the picture you may see from the internet. TV set is quite small with bad reception. Air-conditioner is warm especially daytime when you need a cool room after out from the sun.

Staying here at Katathani Beach resort is not worth at all the the money you spend. The place is far from it all if you need to dinning or nightlife you will be rip off by local taxi every of you travel.

Great location, really in front of sea, the resort offered exactly what we came for. Sunny weather, nice seaview, good water quality. Hotel facilties were not used cause we did not need them.

English speakers are few, outside reception of course.

We came to have a restfull holiday in order to built up again our batterie, we just found the place right to our aim. The resort is just offering nice environment for family, the sea water was clear blue and safe for kids. The hotel team was eager to entertain residents from all over the place, evenhough it is a quite large resort.

Excellent service, beautiful, quiet location and nicely appointed rooms made this a great place for a relaxing beach vacation.

After a cold and hectic Christmas vacation home to Canada, we were looking for a quiet place to warm up for awhile and found it at Katathani. The resort has all the facilities you would expect for the cost, but the real highlights were the service and location. All staff, from the front desk to the breakfast crew to the room and maintenance people were friendly, courteous, helpful and professional. This resort is also in a prime location for those, like us, who are looking for a quiet, relaxing beach experience without a noisy strip adjacent. There is a small strip of restaurants and shops behind the resort (no nightclubs!), but it's only a short walk over the hill to Kata beach where there is a wide selection of shopping, eating and nightlife. Best of both worlds!

Restaurant Tip : The resort has in-house eating, but explore the nearby restaurants for inexpensive, genuine Thai food.

Location- water front views. Swimming pools - great for kids. Close to external restaurants so you are not restricted to hotel food and drink.

We didn't have any major issues or concerns during our stay. Individuals getting up early and "booking" sun lounges that they never sit on is a minor annoyance.

After a hectic Christmas and New Year we were after a relaxing holiday. As we have a 1.5 year old this can be a challenge. However at Katathani we were able to sit by the pool in beautiful surroundings while our daughter had a great time in the water. Poolside Manicures/massages etc are available at very reasonable prices and even the hotel drinks weren't too expensive. Proximity to restaurants and some shops meant we weren't restricted to expensive meals in the hotel restuarant and gave us a wide choice for meals. The beach is great with clear water and white sand. We thoroughly enjoyed our time here.

Open setting, and great breakfast

Expensive taxis

This hotel was one of three that i stayed in while on holiday in Phuket. It is about 15-25min from patong. Kata is a lot quiter to patong but still has plenty of places to eat and little markets around it. I stayed in a superior room in the buri wing and thought it was lovely. I suggest asking the hotel for a pool view room as this is what i asked for and it was really nice to be able to step out the room and walk a couple of metres to the pool

Hotel Feature Tip : Ask for pool view room

Location. Level of service. Manicured gardens. Unreal rooms.

Pricey restaurants. Tuk Tuks and Taxi's are very expensive from here, try and order a taxi meter.

The best thing about Katathani is it's location. Away from Patong and it's annoying store owners and crowds. The beach is on your doorstep, quiet and the water is calm. The perfect place to relax. The level of service is amazing and the rooms - well they speak for themselves. There are daily events planned, some free, some at a cost, and you can get a massage on the lawn for a good price. Most other places charge a fortune. Breakfast is great with so much to choose from, although eating and drinking in the restaurants here at night is very pricey. There are cheap restaurants across the road if you're on a budget, or take a walk over the hill to Kata Beach where there's heaps to choose from. In all Katathani gets a high rating from us.

Restaurant Tip : Head over to Kata Beach for a huge selection of restaurants and order drinks / lunch from the beach for much cheaper prices.

Beautiful beach and sunbathing lawn with lounge chairs. Very good food at the resort's several restaurants.

Sometimes a bit noisy with children about, but not at all intolerable.

I would recommend this hotel for families and couples. The private grounds and environs are extremely well kept and comfortable. The staff members are wonderful, friendly and courteous. Daytime activities are available such as petonque, aerobics, fruit and vegetable carving instruction and even frog races for the children. The resort compound is quiet and private. It is a wonderful place to unwind in overall peace and quiet. Not much in terms of "nightlife," but it does offer music entertainment on a low-keyed basis. Dinner at Le Scala Restaurant was excellent and a talented pianist provided music. I recommend the Chocolate Souffle for dessert. This was my first visit to Phuket. I may try Patong next time for a bit of nightlife and shopping, but I will return to Katathani for its peace and quiet.

The best resort you will ever stay at, do yourself a favor and get to know the staff, they are magnificent especially at the coconut bar (Narong) and (Napporn). This resort is what we like to call our home away from home. The best place on earth.

Sensational location - quiet, basically the only people on this part of the beach are from Katathani and an adjacent hotel. The water at the beach is beautiful and clear. The hotel restaurants were sensational. Staff very friendly.

Huge resort. Rooms were high quality, and our view was of the pool and beach. Breakfast was top quality with good selection. Staff service was brilliant and they were very friendly. Ants crawling around bathroom but that is probably the only negative comment I can make. Can take shuttles into the Phuket centre.

Hotel Feature Tip : Get a poolside massage earlier in the day when they are not as tired. And in high season if you want a poolside sunbed they are all reserved with towels early in the morning.

Disappointed - overpriced, old. Guest Rating: 5.3

Beach. Breakfast.

Price. Tiny rooms. Bad pillows. Old furniture. Old hotel amenities.

After staying 8 nights at Indigo Pearl me and my b/f went on 4 nights at Katathani for New Year celebration actually hoping that hotel would be better. We were so disappointed. We were staying in Bhuri wing. We were offered a tiny room smelling with an old air conditioning (mold like smell), bad furniture and terrible view, which we demanded to be changed and offered a little bit better but still a super-tiny room with a little better design and renovation. But the walls were uneven, corridors to room looked terrible, I was actually shocked and so frustrated. Room would barely suit for a 4 star hotel. The hotel amenities are old, furniture and decor is old. Lobby is small and looks again as a 3 or max 4 star hotel. To me hotels bathrooms tell a lot - well their WCs looked poor and somewhat like airport WCs. I was so desperate we left Indigo. Pictures on the site don't tell the truth, they are maybe 10 years old. The hotel itself is 25 years old, actually Bhuri wing is newer so I don't know how much worse could rooms in Thani wing look. Thani lobby looked better though - well at least they have to provide something that looks like a 5 star hotels. Pools are good only in Thani wing, restaurant with a buffet in Thani wing was not good, I got the impression i'm in a public dining room. Service is OK. Beach was nice but sea was always raunchy. Good place for those who like surfing or swimming with kites, otherwise it's very hard to get in the sea - waves are too big. We were told that sea is always raunchy there. Beach is NOT private, you have to pay for beds and umbrellas, but you can stay at the hotel's pool area, it's very close. Wireless internet in room is not free. NY party was disco 70's hits, so no dancing for me (im 28). Mouling Rouge show was nice but not great. Mainly there are living families with children and people in their forties and up. To get to Patong you would have to pay 500 baht one way for taxi or tuk-tuk and 15-20 minutes ride.

My family and I enjoyed the facilities of the resort - the swimming pools, the kids club, and beach front access. There were a number of restaurants serving different types of food. But the resort was also conveniently surrounded by other alternatives.

For couples, it wouldn't have been a problem. But we were with our 2 year old son and his nanny. This was a problem for us because the bathroom was quite "open." 1.) There was no door to the bathroom, 2.) You could see through the toilet "enclosure" as it was just separated from the sink area by wide slats, 3.) You could see the shower from the bedroom. Definitely not a comfortable bathroom to use. The beds were also very hard. Security would have been a good thing as there were guards/personnel all around the resort, particularly in the public beach area to keep out non-hotel guests. However, we had a horrible experience with one of the security personnel by the Beach Bar. This guard was enthusiastically greeting Caucasian guests throughout the day with a salute and cheerful greetings. And when my husband, an Asian, walked by he changed his attitude and asked if he was a guest in the hotel. My husband said yes and gave him our room number. A few minutes later, he was approached by someone who identified himself as the "head of security" and asked my husband a million questions about what he was doing there, if he was indeed a hotel guest, who he was with, where he was from... My husband was so upset. 1.) he already gave our room number - would it have been difficult to verify this with their front desk before sending out the "head of security?" 2.) why should he be treated any differently from the Caucasians who were there? The security personnel never questioned the presence of any Caucasian walking past him.

The hotel facilities were great. We liked the location of the beach (away from the hustle and bustle of Patong) and how it was much cleaner than Patong. While there were a number of dining options in the hotel, it was also great that there were options right outside that were more affordable. My son enjoyed the Kids Club and swimming pools. The facilities are well-maintained and the staff are very friendly. However, we were not comfortable in the rooms because of the very "open" bathroom and hard beds. We were also very upset with the security problem my husband faced while at the resort.

Restaurant Tip : Try the local seafood restaurants outside the hotel. They serve great local food at very affordable prices.

It was a long drive to Katathani beach resort from the airport but was worth it. The cold towels and welcome drink was refreshing. The place is serene and peaceful. Most relaxing. Hotel staffs are kind and very friendly esp those serving breakfast. The landscaping is superb.Take a walk on the white sandy beach, jump into the sea for a swim. Water is crystal clear. Love it.

Bit far from town. The TV could be bigger. Movies are limited.

I would recommend this hotel to anyone on a honeymoon if they can afford it. Rent a car at the airport and drive around the island. Have a sun-tan, relax at he pools or go for a massage and watch the sunset. At night, drive to Patong and just let your hair down. Savor all the good delicious Thai food and take home with you all the good memories. Cheers.

Restaurant Tip : Around Kata beach town there are many really good Thai restaurant and quite reasonably priced.

Lots of options for pool and grassy areas for R and R. Great gyms.

People getting massaged everywhere on the grass in the open was kind of weird.

Great weekend getaway, not many spots to have a reasonably priced dinner on site except the Cinnamon restaurant at the far end of the resort which had great food and live entertainment at night. The whole beach is just for this resort so it was super.
