M's Guesthouse no longer exists
2
I hired a taxi from the airport to take m to M's Guesthouse and we drove around for a hour trying to find it only to discover that it had closed down months ago and nobody had emailed me to tell me. Apparently the owner of M's also owned The Baramee so we went there. The attendant behind the counter thought it was very amusing that I was trying to stay at M's Guesthouse. I had an appointment the next morning and tried to contact them by email but the server would not connect me. I asked for my money back and an argument then developed between the hotel staff and myself. (I had to pay for the use of the internet)I asked to use their phone but could not get through on the phone either. But again I had to pay.On leaving, the same attendant found my situation funny when I arrived became aggressive and raised his voice when I was 0.25 Baht short of the correct money to pay for a bottle of water I had used from the fridge in my room. It was the worst and most unfriendly stay I have had in any hotel. Because they did not email me and tell me the guesthouse had closed down. By the way M's Guesthouse is still listed on the net. It would be wise to remove it don't you think.
Hotel Feature Tip:
M's Guesthouse has closed down.

Very mixed emotion. I had a room with balcony and sigth to the hills. In the night it was a very nice stay at balcony, having a drink and watching the lights at the from vehicles and other hotels.
But.
The Hotel is not very safe. The main doors are not locked at all. And there is no receptionist at any time. Anyone can come and leave unnoticed. The safetyboxes are located at reception and are a joke. If you go to sleep and forget to lock your door from inside, anyone can "visit" your room, apply some k.o. fluid and examine your belongings.
According to the hotel owner, this hotel will be closed 03.07.2012 for public guest and will be used for the staff of his new hotel.

Simple hotel, not bad for price
5.3
The rooms were simple but clean. The location is about 10 minutes walk into the centre, but the area is a little grimey. Only problem is that the hotel was hard to find and most taxi drivers didn't know where it was.

tired up late at night in puket town and no one knew where it was... thats because its kind of in the middle of nowhere! (really if you don't mind walking like us then its not to bad)
When at the hotel a nice man at the counter was very helpful showed us to our room and told us we have a free water for the 1st night!lol The room was dark but clean, apart from the towels they were really dirty so went and got some new ones from the cleaner.
bed was big sheets not to clean but would do. a/c was the hi light of my stay....
if your on a budget and not that bothered about exterior then doit! otherwise don't bother.

Pleasant room, slightly dated building, good value
Large room and nice little balcony
5.7
Basic but pleasant, 10min walk from main areas, but nice quiet sleep, decent sized room, sheets weren't very new (but clean) and towel had a few rips in it. Slightly disconcerted by the fact that bar checking in, we never saw a member of staff again! Not even when we checked out, we just had to abandon the key on the desk!
There were however a stream of ants crossing our floor when we first arrived, we were on the fourth floor, however once we were in the room they seemed to disappear and we did not see them again.

Average hotel, bad location.
Clean room, friendly staff.
5.3
average hotel. cheap room that was okey. pretty big tv, clean room, not much extra. balcony was a big plus. location is the negative part, 20 min walk to the center of patong and same to the beach. i thought it was a bit too much to walk every day if you live here long. downstairs you could buy beer and water. staff was friendly and helpful, motorbike rent as well downstairs. motorbike taxi in front of hotel, some restaurants close to the hotel. 7-eleven 5-10 min walk away. calm place to live, not much happen here at nights. ok stay

nice room & lovely staff
away from noise and crowd but still walking distance from beach and night life

We very much enjoyed the AC room and the nice big bed even though the mattress had some weird patterns on it that you could feel on some parts. The staff was very nice and easy going. We had to walk about 15min to go to the beach or reach bangla road but it was quiet where we stayed and cheaper restaurants.
