Had a good time in Phuket and i must say that Mam Hostel is a strategic location for accomodation. Very clean rooms. Equipped with free wifi, LCD 32"TV and a comfortable mattress.
If you are looking for a budget and nice place to stay,Mam hostel is a good choice. A must try in this hostel - Try their Pad Thai (Best in Phuket so far )

- Communication could be a problem ( They are not good with English)

We booked this hotel for one night only on our final night in phuket. We paid so did not expect much but was quite surprised. Rooms have been newly renovated are nice and clean with new beds, tv and fridge. Tiny bathroom but for that price you are luck to not be sharing one. Be warned the hotel is hard to find though. Its down a side lane way not on the main street as its address suggests

The stay at mam hostel was very good. Initially, we were given the wrong room, but it was all good once we switched to another room. There is no safety deposit in the room itself, but the reception. The receptionist initially do not speak English, but we tried to speak a lil bit of thai (go try and borrow thai-english translate book, it'll come in handy). Fortunately, there is one guy who knows how to speak English. The good thing abt Mam hostel is that, they do sell affordable, cheap food, beers and fruit drinks, which tastes all goooooood. It feels homey, and is very near to almost everything, the night club/pubs/bars and also the patong beach especially. It is about an hour drive to the airport, unless there's a massive traffic jam, so if you need to catch a flight, be sure to get out 2 or 3 hours earlier. :) Other than that, the Thai people are very friendly and they will make a pleasant stay and you won't feel like going home after all! :) I love mam hostel.

we stayed here for 4 night and were very pleased with the experience. the rooms are large and spotlessly clean. bathroom was decent and clean also. for the price we were very suprised with what we got here. some of our friend were staying at a hotel near hardrock and paying triple the price, but after seeing the standard they decided to come here as well. the staff were very helpful and it is only a 10 min walk to the beach. i cannot recommend this place enough. i would stay again for sure

We picked this hostel because during other hotel were inflating the rate over xmas holidays, Mam hostel kept its reasonable price and the fact it was just renovated were the good enough reason to decide.
Over all, although I was a bit concerned about security -unliable door key and building structure is allowing anyone to come in without passying the reception, it was ok.
Staff were nice and friendly, English communication wasn't soomth but managiable. Room was very clean and wifi connection was ok.
I wouln't say excellent, but it was a good stay and I am satisfied :)

this new hostel is quite clean with blue and white color room. we are satisfy with this price, with flat screen tv and a small fridge. mam hostel is little far from the main shopping area,around 15min walking distance. This hostel is close to the beach
