Manathai Hotel Phuket - Review Guest Rating: 3.2

Lovely hotel, with a few smaller points that need attention for it to truly become a 4 star hotel. its really 3 star with a 4 star decor. But thoroughly enjoyed my stay. No problems with internet booking.

rooms at discount price are smaller, and with no decent sized windows. Room door not very secure - A good kick would allow access (no chains or internal locks). Language barrier made it a little difficult to organize taxi (given 4 star rating, I'd expect a little better English). Private beach area needs some revamping to better match the standard of the hotel.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Surin Beach is lovely, but its not a spot for partying - that's not a problem, but make sure you're not after a wild holiday, if you book here.

Good for a short stay Guest Rating: 3.8

It's good value in a great location, but best for short stays. The pools are small and feel crowded by all the surrounding rooms. The beach is a short walk away, through the hotel and across the road. It's good if you're in Phuket for a reason and use the hotel as a place to base yourself, but if you're there to enjoy the facilities, you might want to consider somewhere else.

The whole hotel is nicely done like boutiqe hotel but the old wing need total refurbishment. need to explain in the web.

How disappointing Guest Rating: 3.3

When our group checked out, they charged us for a bathrobe and a pottery container of shampoo. We insisted we never took a bathrobe and never broke a pottery container, however, they did not believe us. So we opened our bags and showed inside. We didn't want to but we had no idea what should be done to prove the fact. Finally they did not charge us but we felt really disappointed since the hotel staff were so nice during our stay, we couldn't believe we would be treated like this.

I liked all the hotel staff's smiles. Very sweet. And room was clean and the tour desk clerk was a a big help! For atmosphere, couples and friends would enjoy staying at this hotel, I think.

The construction noise from near my room, was intolerable. Staff's limited English was problematic at times. For atmosphere, families might want to avoid this hotel, I think.

My stay in Manathai Resort in Phuket Guest Rating: 2.5

Get a taxi or tuk-tuk is not convenient in Surin Beach where is Manathai located. I asked receptionist to help me to call a taxi. But I was told to make a call in my room by myself. He did not tell me the rate of call. Finally, I was charged for a long distance call at 60 bahts, not a local call. I booked a Pool Access Room, but the pool is little bit bigger than a bathtub.

Overall nice place, a little secluded in Surin beach during low season, but def a eye catching building. Room is small, but cosy. Staff were very friendly.

• Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : There are a lot of taxi touts around, when i landed at Phuket airport, got chatting to my metered taxi driver, he then picked me up and dropped me off throughout my stay, very friendly and much less hassle than having to bargin. They give good rates as well.
