Spent two fantastic weeks here, came with a friend so we booked two rooms still cheaper than one room at the merlin. Fantastic staff most couldn't speak English very well but made up for it with enthusiasm and a honest desire to please. This hotel is not even a year old so no musty smells like many of the older hotels. The location is perfect close to everything but far enough from the insanity of bangla road to relax, though! there's some great bars just around the corner ( try tikis New Zealand bar ). The rooms are clean well thought out i especially like the window into the bathroom, my only criticism was that the mattress was very hard but I'm guessing that's because it's still new, anyway got used to it pretty quickly. Loved the rooftop pool spent many middays there sipping cocktails and looking over patong whilst cooling off in the refreshing water. Would I go back, in a heart beat there might be bigger rooms, better breakfasts and better trained staff at other hotels but my stay at Meir Jarr was exceptional . Thank you to all the staff.

Hotel is good located, price is correct, room was clean and new, nice pool on the top. But...Staff never reply to your mail, do not speak english, do not try to help or advise you, breakfast is medium.
