Shopping Tip:
Near to shops. Hard Rock Cafe a stone throw away. Beach 15 minutes walk away

Mercure Patong is a very clean hotel with polite staff. The pool is somewhat shaded but still very nice. Service was good, and the staff helpful.

Besides the "moldy" smell of the room, which was located on the first level (pool level) and the leaky air conditioning unit, which was almost impossible to change (temperature setting), the overall noise experienced was unbearable. In addition, the free wifi can only be accessed in the lobby, which is constantly surrounded by masses of people also trying to use the same wifi. On a lighter note the staff were very pleasant and the hotel is as the pictures illustrate. Overall really disenchanted with the Mercure and will never recommended it to fellow family members and friends.

this is an excellent place to stay... location and the property is very good... the rooms are big clean and modern... you are far enough away from all the late night noise but still within short walking distance to all that you want to do... the swimming pool is beautiful.breakfast is good and more than adequate for a buffet breakfast. best part was that it was fresh!
free wifi service in the hotel lobby the staff overall were pleasant and friendly.
overall i highly recommend this hotel.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
I would recommend it for people wanting a relaxing holiday.

Terrible reception service. Requested for early check in but ended up only given the room after 2:30pm. The receptionist was extremely unfriendly n rude n kept on arguing by giving the excuse that the hotel is overly full. The standard check in is 2pm yet we could only check in like an hour later!
Moreover, we have booked the double twin room ended was given the double single room. Checked again n the terrible reception again argued the hotel is overly booked without changing it for us.
Upon check out, we got accused of taking some slippers which we had no idea of. After 15 min of rude attitude towards us only they realized its the wrong room number!!!
For a 4 stars standard, I have never gotten such a terrible service from any other Accor hotel groups. This one is the worst ever! Mercure Pating is not up to that standard. A sad disappointment!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Distance from Patong to other island are pretty far.

Had trouble with room lock on several occasions. Some reception staff could not speak english very well. Rooms were large, clean and tidy and pool was great. Food was also great.
Travel tip:
When shopping always barter, first price quoted is usually double what you can eventually pay.

The quality of the room and furnishings was very good and comfortable. The rooms are modern, spacious and clean and face towards the central pool which has a 'sunken bar'.

Buy Thai souvenirs at Jungceylon Mall near the bridge area
