Great Family Location

We found this to be a delightful stay. We have a young child and she loved the pools and play area. There are 3 large pools, 2 of whih are connected, including a swim up bar. The staff were lovely and friendly, but ocassionally needed to clarify things as some staff were not fluent in English. The breakfast was great with a large variety. Being away from town was for us an advantage. If you wanted to go to town you needed to catch the Hotel shuttle bus or get a taxi.

only 3 mins from patong beach away from hussle & bustle and is opposite tri trang beach & has a good shuttle service to & from town

we have stayed at the melrin beach resort on 3 occasions.the facilities will suit most that stay there, 3 pools some rooms with direct access, 1 x pool bar, child minding facility, gymnasium, tennis courts, is on its own beachfront. it has a number of dining options available, buffet & al a carte. is opposite tri trang beach which has a number of very good restaurants & bars within walking distance from the resort. we will be back & hopefully our request of an oceanview room will be granted.

Location to Patong - just a little away from busy town; Good Pools; Nice rooms and comfortable Beds. Plenty of space around the pool.

We had a very enjoyable stay. The rooms were comfortable. The Air-conditioning was good standard, which is important in a hot climate. It was great having a connecting room for our children to have their own space, as well as ourselves. Important to have some downtime. The Pools were excellent, with 3 good settings. The Kids pool was particularly good for doing laps in for Swimming training - it extends about 60 metres. Overall the staff were pleasant and helpfull and it contributed to a very relaxing and enjoyable holiday.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Good deep sea fishing trips nearby.

Perfectly suited us for a week of R&R. Well laid out on it's own secluded beach. Big resort yet not too many people. A taste of local culture without having to go to Patong with massage huts on the beach and a yum local restaurant just a few steps up the hill. We upgraded to a deluxe room which was lovely and apacious. Free buses to & from Patong, but the timetable was a bit weird. It would make sense for one to leave the resort at say 6 or 7pm for dinner in town. For a quiet holiday this place is highly recommended.
Restaurant Tip:
No.6 Restaurant, not far from Bangla Rd. So cheap and so yummy!

Merlin Magic
Three pools, two beaches, shuttle bus to Patong, Phuket Town & return.

Having stayed at the Merlin Beach Resort twice previously we knew what to expect. Great rooms, great service, slightly overpriced in house dining but overall a very pleasant place to stay. Minor gripes include internet usage cost(plus 25b per page printing) when you are already paying reasonably high room rates especially when compared to the free internet usage offered at certain coffee shops included in the price of a cup of coffee & the taxi/tuk tuk mafia charging extortionate prices for a short trip to town (this is a Patong problem, not just the Merlin.
Travel tip:
Hire a motorbike from reception - abit more than most other hire places but you do not have to hand over your passport.

loved our stay bed a little but they fixed that straight away very clean .food at resort a little expensive but very good. needed to have more shuttles to patong and back .we had great time loved the pool and the beach. we would go bach there and time . most people there were repeat visitors. as we are older we found that not many children were there which was good for us

Away from the crowd
Close enough to Patong to enjoy the nightlife, but far enough away to escape the crowd.

Chose this hotel to be slightly away from Patong but knew it was only a 10 minute taxi ride away. The hotel has all the facilities you need and offers great tours at reasonable prices, to nearby islands off Phuket. Good food and bar facilities. Free transport to sister hotel next to Hard Rock Cafe. Beware of the strength of waves on the private beach as they might catch children unawares.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Check out the local tours. We went kayaking in Nga Bay and had a great day out.
