I think it's an ok hotel, huge pools, good food.
Dislike-a bit far from everything although they provide shuttle to Patong beach but it's not so convent . The room is small and has a smell to it.

Very nice big quiet hotel outside patong
Amazing swimming pools and it's own beach

We stayed for 3 nights in a sea view room and we all really liked this resort.
The kids loved the swimming pools and you can swim between two of them.
The food was nice, breakfast was good and the cocktails great.
My only moan is a bit quiet in the evenings but the resort was quite empty at the time so not

hotel provide shuttle bus to the downtown. Great location with great view. you can enjoyo your breakfast face to the ocean. it's really awesome. If hotel can provide free wifi, it will be best.

Fantastic Hotel but staff not all up to scratch
Great location out of the hustle and bustle of Patong Beach. Shuttle service was fantastic as was the breakfast. Rooms were lovely and clean.

Hotel room wasn't ready for us when we got there and we were offered a temporary room (which also took an hour to be ready). Actual room for some reason wasn't available until 6pm even though we let Hotel know we were arriving at midday. Heard similar stories from other travellers. Staff were not overly friendly at front desk. Airconditioning was quite loud but rooms were nice and no noise could be heard from outside.
Restaurant Tip:
There is a lovely restaurant across the road from the Hotel.

Great hotel

Or stay here was absolutely perfect, the hotel is great, and the pool is absolutely perfect in nearly every way. We enjoyed multiple cocktails at happy hour, which were very high quality. The staff are very friendly and always helpful, and the rooms are very nice as well. Didn't have any problems or complaints at all with this hotel. Highly recommended.
Nightlife Tip:
The band at the hotel each night is a must see

lovely hotel out of patong

this is my second stay at merlin beach hotel, it is a beautiful resort a few minutes out of patong, which is great if you want to be out of the central area. staff are amazingly helpful and rooms are wonderful and clean.
Restaurant Tip:
there is a lovely little restaurant up the top of the hill on the beach side of the resort - beautiful food at very cheap prices!

Excellent service and gorgeous hotel

A friend and I stayed here for 8 nights and had a wonderful time. It was a very clean, friendly and reasonably priced hotel. The only downside is that to get into Patong central you need to take the shuttle bus (which is free) or take a taxi down - it takes about 7 minutes to get down there. The beach at the back of the hotel isn't for swimming (sharp rocks) but it is pretty to look over when you're having dinner or lying on a sun lounge.
Would stay here again.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
'Changs' tourism just in Patong gave us some great deals (much cheaper than that offered in the hotel) and we ended up saving lots!

Great location, fantastic service!
Private beach and great location - up the hill from Patong means peace and quiet!

loved the merlin beach resort! we were staying somewhere else previously and had to move due to the quality of the resort, but merlin beach provided no complaints! large deluxe room, two king single beds, great bathroom with separate shower and bathtub and clean! fantastic lagoon-style pool, although day beds were scarce.. resort food was an average price. would definitely come back!
