Nice Faciliites, Friendly Staff, Enjoyable Stay
Pool, Quality of Rooms, Secluded but close to action

We stayed at this resort for about 5 days over New Year Holiday. Location is secluded and relatively quiet, but close to restaurants, beach other amenities. Staff was very helpful and pleasant. Breakfast buffet was quite good and varied. Western fare was pretty good. Pool was fantastic. Swimming the the long stretch between rooms and main pool/restaurant was a favorite morning activity of our kids (pre-teen and teens). Walk to restaurants was not bad. Shuttle to front gate and to beach was nice, but walking to/from beach was just as easy (12-15 min at leisurely pace).
We enjoyed the layout of the rooms. Ability to partition sleeping area from bath was nice to control A/C zone. We would go back to this location and have already recommended it to friends.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Would recommend renting scooters to see island, or take one of the day-long snorkel tours of PhiPhi/bay.

Nice rooms -- customer service training needed

The rooms were nice; however, there seems to be a major disconnect between the quality of the rooms and the quality of customer service. It started with the airport shuttle that we booked through the hotel. Despite the fact that we paid over and beyond market rate for the shuttle, we still had to wait 15 minutes when we arrived for the shuttle to arrive. Fortunately, I had an international cell phone and was able to call the hotel directly, otherwise it could have been much longer for them to identify us at the airport. Based on the above-market price we were paying for shuttle pick-up, I expected that they would be outside the airport waiting for us. When we arrived they had already overbooked, so one of our two rooms was "upgraded" -- the problem was that we really wanted a room with pool-side access (rather than a private pool, one of which we already reserved) so that we could more easily enjoy the larger pool. The private pool villa that we were "upgraded" to was okay; however, they didn't bother to even sweep all of the leaves and other debri that had accumulated. We asked them to give us what we had booked, but it took them several days to release an access pool villa. You would think that -- given that we were spending far more that most customers (reserving two villas, one private and one access villa) that they would try to bend over backwards to accommodate us and ensure everything was swept, the airport shuttle was on time and that our general needs were met. On occasions when we asked for recommendations on local restaurants, we were usually met with blank stares. Once when we asked we were given a list of the local tourist traps: high cost, low quality food. I strongly believe that it might behoove general management to spend a little more time providing customer service training to their staff. The amount we spent on renting two villas for a week stay was not commensurate with the service we received.

My mom has a bad knee and the staff upgraded her room from deluxe pool access to a villa cos the villa was just next to the reception which saved her from a lot of walking. The staff is so thoughtful and we all had a lovely time at the hotel

Smaller resort, relaxing and friendly!

My family and I had a fantastic stay at the Metadee. My children are aged 15,13 and 9 and this resort catered well for us all as a family.
We relaxed by the amazing, beautifully clean pool that spans the entire resort. Boys loved swimming up to the end of the pool every day and ordering their fruit smoothies..$3 AUD
The staff were gorgeous, friendly and so helpful. Rooms were relaxing, very clean and smelling of lemongrass!
Originally we wanted to stay right on the Kata beach front but there was very little available.
As it turned out the Metadee was the perfect, relaxing haven from the busy-ness of Kata.
The beach is literally 3 mins walk away so it was perfect. The hotel mini bus left on the hour from 8am till 5pm. It;s only a drop off (one way) but we all loved walking home via the shops/restaurants.
Restaurant Tip:
in kata...mama's and tomato restaurants were fantastic. most nights meals are bhat. cheap and tasty. best green curry at both.

This is a gtate place to stay away from busy Patong. For kids, there is only the pool, no games room, no kids club or activities.This is more of a place for adults than children. The staff loved our kids and made a real effort to learn our names and make us feel welcome. A big thankyou always there for a frienly chat.The pool is one of the best we have seen and very clean. The wind chimes out side the rooms are a nice touch and you can buy one from the resort so you will alway remember your stay.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is easy to chew up your shopping money from this part of Phuket on taxi's.

a very charming and calm resort, well located in kata area. not too big, not too small. great swimming pool, not only for relaxing but also a very long (more than 150 meters) pool dedicated to swimming. it makes this pool quite unique. rooms are big and well equiped. breakfast is also good with all you may expect from a continental and asian style breakfasts.

A treat all round

More than we expected. An absolute delight and family treat. The pool with spas dotted along the way drew us in at every moment whether rain or shine. The villa was divine. My husband and I stayed in the villa while our three teenage girls stayed in the Pool View room. A perfect set-up for our family.
Restaurant Tip:
Lucky Tom's in Thaina Road. $40 for family of 5. About a 10 -15 minute walk with banana pancakes from street stall for dessert.

We had a wonderful week at Metadee Resort. Good buffet breakfast . Rooms cleaned daily and helpful staff.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Definately can reccomend John Grays Hong By Starlight Cave Canoe. Eight of us took this day trip. The staff on the boat were very friendly and helpful and actually looked like they enjoyed being at work. Food was of a very good standard and plenty for second helpings.The bannana muffins were a real treat and the freshly brewed coffee was well great.. I could find not bad points of this tour.

I booked deluxe room with pool access, but they free updated my room to the villa with private pool. The room is really nice. When I went into the room, it smelt so good and music was on. Overall, it is really nice and highly recommand!!

Fantastic pool that runs through whole resort

Overall a lovely hotel with a spa feel. Lots of nice details such as dressing gowns, slippers and bags for the pool. We were upgraded on arrival to the pool villa which had pool access via a decked balcony and a king size four poster. Simply stunning! The only negative I could say is that although a shuttle takes you to the road it's still a good 15/20 mins walk to the beach which in the heat is hard work, and unfortuantely when we were there there was a lot of rubbish on the beach and in the sea. Obviously not their fault but a shame.
