Key card hell
1) Great cleaning staff - really! 2) Brillant breakfast with good staff. 3) Nice pool-area and 4) fine faclities for fitness.

A room in Thailand without a balcony is torture: No fresh air in the room, only aircon. I asked many times to change rooms, but it was not possible. Then I heard from the reception, that I was just unfortunate to stay at the Lakeside, because at the Beachside twin-hotel, the rooms at the same price had a balcony. Bad luck - and irritating! I stayed for almost 3 weeks with a combination of work and a bit of holiday, and most things went very smoothly and comfortable.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Contact the cleaning staff first and then reception secondly, if you have problemes with your keycard, like I did almost every day.

Patong. The rooms were tastefully furnished at it had great amenities. The pool areas are very nice and you could comfortably cool down after a good morning in the sun on the nearby beach.
Nightlife Tip:
The nightlife near the hotel is great for nights, the nearby beach is great for mornings till early afternoon, the hotels pool is good for late afternoons till evening.. your one stop hotel.

There is shopping centre next to the hotel, very convenient for food and shopping. The room is very nice and spacious. 2 swimming pools available. However, the hotel does not offer free internet connection. It charges 600 Baht per day, quite expensive. It takes 5-8 mins walk to beach.

Little noisy as the hotl is located adjacent to the Jungcelyon shopping complex
But overall, I am definitely recommending this hotel for anyone who worries about their holiday to be happy and enjoyable without stressing about the money and services etc..

Stayed in this hotel (superior room in the ocean wing) in middle of January 2009 and the overall experience was satisfying.
Needless to say, the hotel was very conveniently located, right next to the mall equipped with supermarket, department store, sportswear shops etc. The room was nicely decorated and spacious. It had a modernistic atmosphere. While other travellers thought it was strange not to have a bath tub but only a shower place, I found it ok as this was not an important aspect to me so long the bathroom was neat.
Service wise, the hotel staff were friendly and provided ambient service to guests. Any queries were promptly addressed and I could see that they were willing to assist in whatever you needed. A nice touch was to provide beach towels (this hotel was about 10 mins from the Patong Beach).
One issue that I would address was noise level. At night, I could hear music from the mall.
Restaurant Tip:
great Japanese food at the Fuji restaurant in the mall

The hotel is of pretty high quality. Service is good. The Cabana room that we stayed was really nice, although there was no privacy by the pool... Pool water was too cold. Location is perfect especially if you want to do shopping in Phuket. Hotel lacks some personal touch... Overall I enjoyed my stay.

OVerall it is not a bad hotel to stay. Rooms are clean, staffs are ok and best of all it is near the Jungecylone shopping mall. But this hotel is a little bit too far from the beach. The front desk person tried to charged me 50 dollar more per day for the same room I booked by saying there is no room left. After I asked her why and argued a little bit she gave me a room on the beach site of the hotel. Breakfast is so so and passable. If I go to phuket again and if I am going to spend ~150 to 200 dollar per day on hotel I think I will chosse a different one than this one.
