The food was not very good. After reading many good reviews, we expected the food to be much better.
I don't think this hotel is a good value for the money. In the past year, there has been numerous hotels in Kata that have been built that appear to be very nice and cheaper. We had dinner only one night in the restaurant and were disappointed. After leaving this hotel, we continued on our travels to the Radisson Cape Pawna and was very impressed with this 5 month old hotel. Nice restaurants and in walking distance to the Aquirium and little town where there are other simple restaurants. I would recommend the Sheraton Hotel in Cape Pawna. This side of the island is much quieter (less vendors and tourist shops) which was great. I felt like we experienced the actual country rather than the tourist beaches.

Location, right on the beach and at the end of Kata Yai.
Very close to the road. You can hear street noise and does not feel private.
We stayed at the Boathouse for one night before we stayed at the Villa Royale. When we first arrived at the Boathouse, I thought the view from the dining room was outstanding and very impressive. The service was impecable and the location was decent. Our room overlooked the pool, which did not provide enough privacy. The room itself was very comfortable, spacious and clean. The restaurant was delightful, as is the wine selection (but be prepared to pay for it!).
Restaurant Tip : The wine selection is the hotel is the best in Thailand!

Great location on the beach, stuff service, delicius food
We stayed there during our honeymoon and we had great time over there. First of all this hotel is located on the beach! the hotel has private beach. In the hotels private beach you will get water fruits and snacks during your stay. Inour opinion kata beach is the most beatifull beach in phuket island and has the best resturants in phuket (including the boathouse wine and grill)
the hotel has beatifull rooms and graet deasign. This hotel has the best breakfast! imported cheese, great pancacs, exsspreso end other stuff that are not so common in thailnd. The stuff in the hotel is very firendly and provides great service!
We are just hoping that we will have another chance to visit there!
Restaurant Tip : Visit the two cheffs resturant across the street it has great food!

Right on the Beach. Good view of the sea from the room. Excellent food. Good service. Didn't see any sign of management in the hotel.
Trading too much on the restaurant and wine cellar. Bedrooms whilst 'shabby-chique'BUT bathrooms out of date / not very adequate. Poor shower, manky shower curtain, poor hair dryer. People expect better bathrooms than this; room A/C not great, no ceiling fan. Small balcony.
We were there in low season, but still a busy time for many from Oz.
Beautiful sandy beach, quite a bit of plastic / crap on the beach. Red flags flew the whole time but still many people were deep into the sea. Lifeguards playing over-safe, not really amending to a yellow flag when the conditions improved.
We enjoyed our time here but would think carefully about returning. Not much to do in easy walking distance, but there were cafes, bars and basics.
Restaurant Tip : Two Chefs restaurant opposite

The hotel was set in a wonderful location, right on the beach front, but away from the busy area of the beach. The beach was clean, well kept with private sunbeds for hotel guests.
Staff were very helpful, courtious and considerate of our needs.
The room was very comfortable, spacious, overlooked the sea and had a private veranda where we could enjoy sitting in peace and quiet.
We also visited Mom Tri's Oasis and enjoyed a great evening with live Jazz music and delicious food. Our most special evening was spent at Mom Tri's Kitchen where the drinks and food were truely amazing - a great menu selection, excellent presentation and flavours and the most amazing setting. We sat overlooking the sea watching waves crashing on the rugged, floodlight rocks below.
This is a wonderful hotel, built right on the beach-front on Kata Beach. The staff are very helpful, friendly and customer focused, without being too intrusive. The views overlooking the sea and the bay are spectacular. The hotel has two pools, one for swimming and one as a jacuzzi. There are two other excellent Mom Tri restaurants nearby, Mom Tri's Oasis and Mom Tri's Kitchen. Both serve excellent food, have different menus and each has a different ambience. Live music in each of the three locations was excellent. We found the best cocktail on the menu was 'Puket Kiss' - well worth trying, but you will find that one is not enough!!!

Beautiful Location.
Friendly service.
Rooms are typical of,say, a 3 star hotel.
One of my favourite hotels. Its lovely location on Kata beach, with its beautiful terrance, where you can dine to the sound of the waves, and very friendly service, still make the boat house a special place.
However the rooms are a little bit poor - uncomfortable beds, over-stuffed foam pillows, all a bit old and shabby for the price (with free internet which was too slow to bother with during my stay), and the dining quality vs price is mediocre rather than the world class experience to which it aspires.
But still agreat place.

You cannot get closer to the beach. From breakfast to the beach it's no more than 10 steps - perfect. Breakfast was excellent here, fresh smoked salmon and cheeses, eggs cooked fresh to your liking, fresh fruits, breads and juices – delicious! Staff were friendly and very very attentive, refilling your water glass on the beach as you lazed in the sun. A dream hotel. Huge bed in our room was amazing. Did not want to leave. Kata beach is beautiful, not overly busy, lots of great surf and soft sand. I have read a few things that say Mom Tri's was stuffy and uptight - not at all for us - very relaxed and friendly.
Kata is quite a quiet town with only a few late opening bars, but Karon is close by for more bar selection, as is Patong if that's your thing (after the beauty of Mom Tri's Patong was not somewhere I wanted to visit). The sea is strong here so kids may find it had to swim. Nothing wrong with the hotel though, can't fault it at all.
A dream location right on the beach, no roads to cross, you are right there. Sun loungers, beach towels and umbrellas are all provided for you and you can order food from your sun lounger and eat on the beach. The pools are small but plenty big enough for a dip and small swim, with the sea at your fingertips wo needs a pool. Rooms were lovely, beds were solid but comfy and air con worked like a charm, large and spacious with everything you need. With a discount booking from this site, this was the prefect beginning to our holiday. Well worth visiting for a few nights, in fact we booked extra. Jet ski and surf board hire right on your doorstep and massages close by, plus cheaper eatery’s at the end of the beach, perfect.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Easy to get transfers t othe islands from here an cheap too. Close to Karon and Patong and travel service staff in Kata are very helpful.

Just a few down stairs to beautiful Kata beach.
I hope Japanese TV news program or newspaper provided someday. Weak water pressure from shower head.
It was our 2nd time to stay here. We have stayed several 4-5 stars hotels in Phuket and found here was the vest. We will continue to chose this hotel. The reason is as follows;
Beach-front location, many shops, Thai restaurant and massage around, very nice hotel breakfast.Prompt room making. Frendly staff.

Great location on the beach
Pool a bit small,Rooms while comfortable ara abit tired. Fridge not cold.
Service excellent.Food excellent but expensive ,however we were aware oft the restuarant prices before booking and did have a very enjoyable meal . If ordering wine and intend having more than 1 glass (half glass) its more economical to order buy the bottle. (1300.00 Bht for a good Italian wine. You have access to many cheaper eateries down the beach and in the streets around Mon Tri's
Nightlife Tip : not a good place for nightlife however kata beach is more to lay back and relax.

beach front, location, Kata beach is great
expensive food, I ate outside except for breakfast
This is a beautiful place, but you get the sense that it is aging. They need to replace carpets and bedding. Staff is friendly and courteous and overall I enjoyed my stay. I recommend Kata Beach to anyone going to Thailand.
Restaurant Tip : Two Chefs across the road is great and reasonably priced!

The customer service was exceptional. The provision of iced water and towels as we sat on the lounges on the beach was a great touch ( at the pool too). The food was delicious and beautifully presented.Sitting outside on the terrace watching the world go by was great.Eating breakfast watching the surfers etc delightful. The hotel service in all respects was excellent. Mum cat and her kittens were entertaining. One of the best hotels i have been to for location and service.
The lunch menu was limited and there was not a lot of privacy in our particular room.
We booked this hotel for one night and ended up staying for 4 fantastic nights...could have stayed longer!Everything about the hotel was great. they went out of their way to provide for your every need. The beach out the front of the hotel was really good with clean white sand and nice gentle surf. The pool was well maintained and both areas had comfortable cushioned lounges and the staff were at hand to provide towels, water and snacks. The restaurant was delicious and the Oasis bar and grill next door) which is owned by the same people was excellent as well. If I was going to return to Phuket I would not hesitate booking there again.

Fabulous location with excellent dining and fantastic staff.
One of the rooms we stayed in lacked a little privacy. They don't provide much in the way of concierge services.
Mom Tri's was a fantasic small hotel on some of the best beach in Phuket. The staff went out of their way to help like providing iced water, cold towels and snacks while we were lounging on the beach sun lounges. The restaurant was excellent as was Oasis a more casual eatery beside the hotel they also own. We liked it so much we stayed again for a few days at the end of our holiday. Terrific!

Need to be honest on their website about hotel, rooms, facilities etc
Hotel management need to stop trading off the reputation of the dining awards at their restaurant. We arrived at the hotel at 2 am in the morning. Transport was 1400 baht, double of most comprable hotels in the same area. This is our 6 visit to Kata and Katathani beach hotels. The room was very disappointing and we chacked out for the next 11 days to the Katatani Beach Resort and Spa. Absolotely amazing, rooms 100% better. Disappointment that the manager did not try resolve our disappointments directly.
Restaurant Tip : I suppose dining if you do not stay in the hotel
