Pacific Club Resort, Phuket

check in and are ready for us, they take us to the room and it is very charming almost Mexican feeling. Feel at home right away. Pool is fantastic with an amazing view, we did notice though that the pool needed a good blasting with a power-scrubber.. quite scummy along the edges. We also noticed mystery meat in our chicken cashew and did earlier on that day remember a young fellow that worked at the hotel shooting some sort of bird out of the tree. The ironic thing is that my fiance asked him if he was shooting tonights dinner. Good stay, great manager by the name of Mickey.

The hotel has fantastic facilities including steam room, spa, gym, lap pool, subathing deck, restaurant and room service (no delivery fee), free internet. It has a very peaceful feel and the staff are all very friendly. This is an absolutely fantstic hotel if you can get past the hill climb. If you intend to hire a car or bike, or mostly get picked up from the hotel for outings, this is not an issue. If you are a walker, you have to walk a good 10-15 minutes to the beach and a bit longer back up the hill. Tuk Tuk drivers charge 100-150 baht to take you up to the top.

My wife and I spend a week at the Pacific Club Resort last week. It is located a half mile or so away from the beach but that is a good thing. After a day at the beach or in Karon city, being removed is great as it is very quite and peaceful. It would be VERY nice if the resort would use their mini van for free transport to and from a designated point in Karon ever thirty minutes or so (HINT HINT). We travel a lot and one of our favorite spots in Bali does this. The Pool sits on top of the resort and is just awesome!! You can see all around and it really is great. We spent two of our days just at the pool as the beach is very crowded and there isn't anyone trying to sell you something every five minutes when you are trying to relax. The food is good, a little more expensive then the city but you know its clean and it is convenient. We did not have breakfast included but it is buffet and It is very good to. We did use the resort spa one day to. It was "OK" and twice the price as downtown Karon. We found a good massage place and just went there instead. We stayed in the one bedroom suite and it was great. The balcony is almost the size of the interior with two lounge chairs and table for four. If you any room, ask for one higher than the third floor if you want to see the ocean. There are condo's directly in front of Pacific Club and that was our view....The Bed was great, in room safe, fully functional kitchen with two seat bar, full size refrigerator, microwave, pots, pans, plates, silver ware, you name it. A/C in the living room and bedroom. Bathroom was full bath and shower, toilet and full sink with mirror. There is tons of closet space in this place two. All in all it is great. We ran the beach daily and found a few other places we thought about moving to. After checking them out and getting on AGODA for reviews and prices, there is NOTHING that even comes close to Pacific Club. My only advice to Pacific Club is USE YOUR MINI VAN
