Look, it's not a four-star hotel. However, the hotel on its own isn't bad. The check in was quick and smooth. The staff was friendly and helpful. The room was clean, so was the bathroom. My room was a few stairs to climb, enough to digest those heavy meals. However, I didn't mind it as I got this hotel pretty cheap. Also, this hotel is in a calm and peaceful place and that's important to me on a vacation. The cons would be: it's far from the Patong beach. I didn't feel the pinch as hard as I had hired a jeep. I think if I didn't have my own conveyance, stay at this hotel would have been very painful. I agree the hotel has a shuttle service but on a holiday, you don't always want to plan for a hotel shuttle!
The climb to this hotel is a steep one. I am a good driver with experience of driving in rugged hills. I can tell you, that climb isn't an easy one.
My recommendation: if you are getting it cheap and you have some mode of transportation, go for it. Otherwise there are plenty of other options.
