Looked, smelt, and felt like a hospital

You get what you pay for. The only time people want to go to hospitals is when they are sick or injured, not after a fun night in town. Although the Patong Lodge is only a few minutes stroll down the hill to the street food stalls, getting around by foot wont be for everybody. Expect to pay around 50 baht p.p to get to town by tuk tuk.

Shopping Tip : Theres nothing but a run down "mini-mart" outside the hotel. The next best thing to a 7-eleven or a family mart will only be found in town, so make sure you stock up on the supplies before heading back to the hotel each night.

Good massage salon nearby.

View on trash and garbage. Electrical main switch was inoperable and needed repair. Cleanliness of hotel room (especially bathroom) and surrounding should be improved. Breakfast not up to expectation. Smelly location.

We were disappointed by the value for money, compared to other deals we had during our stay. The money would easily buy a room in a decent 4 star hotel in Bangkok. Location was fairly noisy (which might have been a one time issue related to our neighbours which liked partying a lot). Breakfast was included, but offered at a very low level. We especially disliked the poor cleanliness in the room and the companionship of plenty of insects, whether crawling or flying. Not a 4 star hotel in our opinion.

Travel tip : The massage salon around the corner offers over average Thai massage at decent prices (250 baht/h). Laundry service outside the hotel is friendly and fast.

Near the beach

Old and run down and the roof leaks badly

Sadly I have to say I will never book this hotel again, we had really lousy experience. The breakfast was terrible for a so called 4 star hotel. We had to change rooms three times, first one leaks really bad, second air conditioner not working, staff not friendly at check out counter.

Travel tip : Near the beach which is good for snorkeling

Don't join the tour that is provided by the hotel because it costs you double than the ouside tour companies.

Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Go to the Jun Ceylon, it is a nice place to eat seafood and shop. If you go by tuk-tuk, it costs you at least 150 Baht. But if you walk, it takes around 25 minutes.

Overall I thought this was a decent hotel but I was disappointed that on Agoda it had a sauna included in the facilities which was one of the reasons for my booking but there is no sauna at this hotel.

Rent a bike for 300 Baht a day and you can explore more sightseeing places, such as view point, Wat Chalong temple, HUGE Budhha Statue, Bungy Jump and Phuket Town, it's worth to rent it :)

When we first arrived we were a bit shocked with the hotel as we were expecting a four star hotel. I think this would only be a 3 star hotel. Overview we were pretty happy with the hotel especially considering how much we paid. Tuk tuks into town were a bit more than expected.

Recommended if you don't like the noise of the city and want to stay at the beach or by the swimming pool.

Shopping Tip : Try bargainning before you really start buying. In most of the cases you can buy it for less than half of what they ask. Don't be afraid to say no, you can buy it in at least ten other shops or they will offer you a much cheaper deal if you start walking away.

Nice swimming pool and reasonable price.

Far away from the center and any shopping destination. Staff could improve their service as well as their kindness.

I visited this Hotel in September 2006 and I was a bit disappointed about the rooms and especially about the service. The staff was not very friendly and every small service is charged extra like for example the deposit box. The quality of the breakfast is not really high and the choice could be better. If you want to go to the city or shopping you either need to use a Tuk Tuk or you rent a car or a scooter.

Hotel Feature Tip : Big swimming pool with different areas for kids and adults. Nice view from the pool over the beach.

To assign a price, I think a lot of good nature

The situation is a little bit hard and a little bad because there is no means of transportation.

It is quiet off the PATONBICHI, you may feel inconvenient transportation. I'd feel so much natural green, I did not care that many mosquitoes. I need a mosquito-repellent?
