the hotel was in a great location away from all the noise of main Patong.the hotel was very clean and well maintained.Breakfast was a treat with the variety of food been more then sufficient for all.The staff were very helpful with any requests ,with the exception of not providing us with a room with a king size bed because the hotel was fully booked .Overall i would recomend it to anyone

I stayed at the hotel some years ago and had a fantastic holiday here, it is very conveniently located and the grounds are lovely. The room was very shabby and dated and smelt very strongly of mould from the aircon. the hotel is very overpriced for what you get, after staying at Indigo Pearl in Nai yang beach for 8 days at almost the same price it was a total culture shock, an I am no snob!
The hotel was overrun with very loud guests and everything seemed to be catered for them. The breakfast buffet felt like a canteen and the guests were piling so much on their plates it put me off!
The food at dinner was very mediocre and the fanttastic buffet I remembered from my last visit was far from. I felt even worse spending time at the hotel after seeing 3 rats in different places in the hotel ground..eeeeek made my skin crawl. Two nearthe pool bins and the other was running in front of one of the hotel room blocks along the corridor.
I wouldnt stay here again, there are much better places to stay in patong, the hotel is run down and overpriced.

My husband and I got a great time in Patong Merling Hotel, the location of the Hotel is great it is in the middle of everithing, just a few steps to the beach in one side and in the middle of all the action occurs in Patong.
Staff was frendly, room was big enough and had a balcony with pool view, not to mention that the hotel has 3 big pools that make your stay very relaxing.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
It is easy to go from the hotel everywhere, one time you are in patong Merling Hotel you don't need any kind of transportation in Patong, the location is great !!

All the families we spoke too, their children had ear infections from the swimming pool due to the mould around the drain areas of the pool. Although cleaned daily our room smelt musky and the throughout our stay along with others we all had cramping pains and or diahorrea sadly our family would not stay or recommend this hotel.

The hotel is in a very good location beside the beach
with anice view and have many swiming pools in diffrent
locations in the hotel,and all the shopping is near the
hotel no need for taxi ,and thier breakfast is very
nice with differnt choices kind of food . Ithink I will
chose the same hotel in my next visit to phuket.

The Patong Merlin hotel is in my opinion the best place to stay in Patong beach. I have stayed there twice now and have recommended it to many people I know.
It is centrally located - close to all ammenities.
The staff are very welcoming, lovely and very helpful at all times.
The facilities are great. The rooms are well equipped and are always cleaned perfectly and serviced daily.
The Patong offers 3 large swimming pools which are in impecible condition and are cleaned daily.
For the price you pay to stay at the Merlin, you definitely get your money's worth.
I would definitely recommend the Merlin to anyone travelling to Phuket and staying in Patong beach.
Restaurant Tip:
The Patong Merlin offers a wide selection of food and beverage for any pallette. The Merlin is famous for having Patong's best breakfast buffet - and it certainly lives up to its name! The resort offers the Coconut cafe which is open from 6am - midnight and offers a vast variety of cuisines, offering both delicious traditional thai food as well as western and european dishes.
The restaurant on the beach side of the resort offers a buffet dinner - with different offerings of food choices each evening as well as live entertainment for people dining.
The Patong's pool side food and beverage service is great. From the comfort of your sun lounge you can order a wide variety of both alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages, food and snacks. All of the same can be ordered from your room.
The Patong Merlin is definitely the place to stay if you are consious about food choices and food quality.

This was an excellent hotel... the food was great with a big choice for breakfast and service by the pool was good... it is in an excellent location with the beach across the road at one end of the hotel and the markets across the road at the other end... it is a family oriented hotel with the kids pool... price was also very good... the pool was underneath the palm trees which provided good shade from the sun. Overall I would stay at this hotel again and would not hesitate to recommend it to anybody...
