great location close to everything - would spend the extra a night for the renovated rooms next time - as the old rooms are a bit tired.employees were helpful & friendly - great pools & facilities etc for kids.food great but a bit expensive with fees/tax etc added to menu costs - beware.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
hire a tuk tuk or taxi for the day to do a few touristy things in the one day eg big buddah/elephant rides/go carting/shooting gallery etc. Dont miss the Sat or Sun night markets for great & cheap shopping

Money Hungry Hotel

Second room was not ready till 7pm, were given 2 free meals at the Terrace, was horrible. Wifi only available at reception and was expensive, beer in lobby was 140 baht or 36 from minimart acros the road,. We had to pay for late checkout even after they did not check us in till 7pm. stayed here ten years ago and not much has changed, same old rooms even same old televisions. Used to recommend this hotel to friends, cant anymore as it was one of the worst stays we have had any where in the world, staff are unfriendly, and must be taught that money is everything. Pools are best feature but surly pool attendants should be sacked. Do yourself a favour dont stay here.
Travel tip:
Stay next door same great location, better service and friendlier staff etc..

Found staff pleasant but not over friendly at check in.Rooms were clean, fairly spacious ,air conditioning was icy cold my wife likes it that way although you can adjust to your taste.Found balcony great for relaxing overlooking gardens and pool.Breakfast was ok lacking a little in variety.If you dont like crowds get to breakfast early.All in all had good stay for the price and would come again.
Restaurant Tip:
You and Me about 300 metres from hotel.good food good price no stomach complaints

Horrible Service - Rundown
across from nice beach - 3 pools but safety an issue

On arrival they made us wait until 7pm to checkin and wouldn't extend our checkout later than 12:00. The beds are very old. The 3 pools are big however they do not have handrailing to enter. On trying to enter I slipped and fell brusing my knee and hand badly. One fellow sitting on a chair aided me and told me he witnessed many people taking bad falls and breaking their bones/teeth etc and yet the management has done nothing to fix this issue. They do not speak english at all. I asked the pool attendent to help me with my chair and he flatly said no. In fact the staff are so unhelpful and miserable. Their breakfast buffett is a hodge-podge of whatever they can find - probably on sale - vegtables - chicken nuggets. Very strange - coffee is like mud. They seem to think because they have a good location that people will stay there anyway - no worth per night even with the band that plays every night - who is their only positive attribute. I wouldn't stay there if they paid me.
Hotel Feature Tip:
Pool is unsafe for entering/existing.

Great Value in the centre of Patong.

Visited the hotel in August, 2010 - very much the low season.
Hotel is in an excellent location opposite the beach in Patong.
We were a party of 5, 2 adults, 3 teenage children, and had 2 inteconnecting standard rooms with balconies overlooking one of the pools. Rooms were very comfortable and clean with plenty of room but the decor and furniture, although fine, reflected the fact that they have not been modernised/upgraded for a while. Breakfasts were good (buffet) and there were a variety of restaurants and bars serving everything from snacks to full meals. Nightly buffets were good but could have done with a bit more variety and more local dishes. In keeping with all hotels we saw in Patong, most people eat out in the evening - this meant the hotel outlets were very quiet.
Low season in Thailand means visitors should expect some rain/cloud, usually in the afternoons. This was not a problem for us as it means the temperature is slightly cooler and air is fresher. It can however restrict availability of water based activities/trips.
Overall we had a lovely time and the hotel was great value for money at this time of year.
