Guest surchage is really over the top. More reasonable would be Baht 700 (not 1200!!) This is the only reason why I wouldn't stay there again. It is a shame as the hotel was really perfect otherwise. Someone should tell them (and inform me if they change their policy).

We would stay at this hotel again if visiting Patong; close to the beach but removed enough from the busy shopping areas. Never a problem getting a taxi, to the extent that they became extremely annoying - very difficult to cross the road in front of the hotel. 7/11 accross the road from the hotel (if you can make it there alive) is a great asset.
- Travel tip : Visitors must remember that pedestrians have NO rights at all - crossings do exist but try to use them at your peril. Traffic NEVER stops for pedestrians.

The check in and check out was outstanding to the point when we arrived at 10.30am we got to check in straight away. The rooms are to die for just like the web site, very clean large and new. I would suggest the pool access rooms or a pool view room so you are not on the main street. We had two pool access rooms and they where wonderful for us and our 15year old daughter who also loved the new gloria jean coffee shop now in the complex.
- Travel tip : A wonderful little restaurant accross the road sitting on the rocks over looking the ocean . Oh so cheap. Although we did dine at the hotel every evening to support them and had lunch accross the road each day.
What a nice pool this is!

This hotel was a great find. We stayed in other hotels which were more expensive,and found the Patong to provde as good a service, with extremely friendly staff with good English. The hotel wasn't so busy that we were bumping into people everywhere we went. We have already told friends to stay here.
- Shopping Tip : Hit the back street that runs parallel to the beach, for shopping, you won't be hassled so much from the stall owners.
