We choose the Phuket Merlin as we stay at the Patong Merlin when in Thailand, it was only for overnight as we went to Phi Phi Don the next morning - over all very disappointed nothing like their sister hotel

lovely mature hotel, wonderful caring service,
location, fairly quiet, free bus to putong beach and return

lovely hotel, it was our 2nd stay, and we were looked after really well,
only one negative comment..... we were there during the Kings birthday week, but there was no information for visitors on that event or local events,
we would loved to have seen so much more
we still visited many local places and venues and we enjoyed ourselves.
we travelled by tuk tuk we stuck with one guy and he would take us and wait for us. cool.
Travel tip:
if you like a cup of tea whenever you want one bring a travel kettle

countryside hotel in the city!

I selected to stay in this hotel because it close to the place which i had business to do with, but i think this hotel is not for the tourist, one thing i really don't like about this hotel is they do not have internet service in the room, but you can use internet by using hotel computer (only 2 computer))

Conveniently located in heart of Phuket town
Friendly staff, small but comfortable rooms, great breakfasts

For attending a wedding in town, the location was excellent. For a longer stay would choose a larger room but otherwise our stay went without a hitch.
Restaurant Tip:
Try La Gaetana for great Italian food...not far from Phuket Merlin Hotel. Hotel staff have good contacts for local cabs.

The Room provided to us was a twin room, the beds are comfortable but the room lacks proper lighting. The toilet needs much more lighting as its dark and gloomy and does not have a ventilation system that is very effective. The reception staff and does not speak English so any sort of communication is just a waste of time. The hotel runs a free shuttle service from the town location to the Patong location which is the happening part of Phuket for night life, this information should be provided to customers. We were charged 500 Bhatt by the hotels taxi driver and the concierge did not tell us that there is a service provided for free.. Breakfast is good but the wait staff keep hovering around the tables and can make your breakfast experience unpleasant... Very average hotel will prefer to pay more next time and stay in Ptaong.
Hotel Feature Tip:
There is a Free Shuttle operated by the hotel from Town to Patong... Where the night life is in Phuket...
