Incredible thai flavor interior. I looked at some expensive hotels to take my girlfriend. The views were better but the feeling in the room was cold and howard johnsons or marriott. Anotherwords- unappealing. For this price how can you go wrong. Lobby water features were so pleasing. The little street was perfect with a great salon and massage and thai restaurant.
A little bit of a walk to the beach.
Phenominal place for the price. I think I would have to spend TEN times the money to get to the next level. Very clean and very local flavor.
Highly recommended. I think those in the know are trying to keep it a secret.
Nightlife Tip : Tiger nightclub was incredible for dancing.

the rooms are big, clean and comfortable, the breakfast is nice. and the staf is very friandly.
the hotel is close to the main street (2 min walking)
to get to the main street you pass a street that is fladed in the rain time.(we were there on 28/8 and we couldnt get to the main street.
the water go half way to the knee and you dont have any other option to cross this street. so wear shoes you can get wet... if its not raining its a great hotel to spend a day or two in it, but... if it is raining you better find something alse..
one more point is the pool, it is tiny! if you just want to get wet its O.K to much swimming you wont do in it.
the hotel is quite and central but not too much, and the bed is comfi.. you have also internet (50 BHT for 50 min) and an option to get DVD player for a day for 200 BHT, there's a nice restorant a cross the street to drink or eat something and a big PUB around the corner. i think that KATA beach is nicer than the area of PATONG.
Restaurant Tip : just across the street very nice homy place..

Nice, airy and spacious.
clean, good sized rooms
good king size bed
good bathroom construction noise was a bit annoying, but then when you are always out it is not that bad spent a couple of nights there on recommendation from a friend. The Hotel is great value, staff is very polite and helpful and the rooms are good size. Breakfast is alright and adequate with fresh fruit, local treats and your omelet or fried eggs. opposite is a nice little restaurant and massage place, so it's very conveniently located in a back street. Good value!
Nightlife Tip : just 8 minutes walk round the corner - enjoy

Very helpful stuff and the hotel is near for everything They are building more in this area, so at 10 -17 a little bit noisy, but it doesn`t matter, because we were on the beach or somewhere... Balcons are very small. We were 7 days at this hotel and we really like it. Location is wonderful, everything is near, the hotel is clean and quiet. Just opposite of the hotel is very good massage place.
Travel tip : Nothing very special, but everything was near; beach, shoppings,bangla road, clinic, massage, beauty salon...and we used all this!

some building work going on at moment second time iv'e stayed here, god i love this place the rooms are nice, the staff are so friendly it's just a really nice place.There was this time however some building noise but i think in a month or two it should be mostly complete and so back to being peaceful again.

The staff here are the friendliest staff ever.also so helpfull & happy.i have stayed here a couple of times now & will probably stay again in the future some time.
the rooms are excellent & the breakfast good.
the location is excellent for walking to al shops,restaurants, beach ect.
my only critism this time which is no fault of the hotel that there was lots of building work going on on all sides of the hotel which through the day made it impossible to stay at the hotels pool because of the noise & dust. there was heavy building work going on in the local vicinity... unable to fully enjoy all the hotels facilities. The poppa palace is a great hotel in a great location with the friendliest staff i have ever come across in a hotel.there also very helpfull.
the rooms are excellent & you dont need a car or taxi to go anywhere as everything is just on the doorstep including the beach. could have pre warned of all the building work going on around the hotel as through the day you could not stay at the hotel pool as of the high noise levels & dust from the builders.
all round though this hotel is great when theres no builders there.
ps. please get the pool re tiled soon.

Nice hotel for the budget minded. Close to Bangla Road. Small pool with few sun beds. The restaurant needs to expand hours to cover the dinner hours. Although on a side street, Poppa Palace is still located close to Bangla Road and the heart of the action. The modern room was large and nicely furnished. The wi-fi signal was very good and available at a reasonable price.
The restaurant in the hotel was only available for breakfast and lunches. The pool at the hotel is small and good only for a quick dip.

Over all still a great palce to stay. But lack of up keep during the low season could cost more in the long run. If your going to charge well them spend some of it on on goping maintence.

Location is excellent - 5 minutes walk to beach - 5 mins walk to bangla road, but nestled in a lovely, quiet back street. pool is a little on the small side, but for these prices you would not expect a pool at all. Had another fantastic 2 week stay in february 2008 - my third stay in the last year. The hotel has a perfect location and is in excellent decorative order. The rooms are spacious with everything you need and are immaculately clean. The hotel reception is an absolute plus of this hotel. The staff are the most welcome of any staff I have encountered in Thailand and are genuinely happy to see you and are extremely helpful. The breakfast is excellent, all fresh food, hot and cold, Thai and Western and always clean. I would recommend this hotel to either singles, couples or families and I am sure your stay in Phuket will be all the better thanks to Poppa Palace.

The rooms are spacious and relatively clean. Overlap with the tour in India, had been occupied by India or the cafeteria for breakfast. Because it's in a bit from the street, is also recommended for clean and quiet room. However, the rainy season it will have a heavy rain and river roads.
