Lovely hotel at the beach front with a great atmos
Love the pool and the fact that the beach is literally a stone throw away and away from the bustling crowd of patong!

Dun know what you fa-rangs here expect but i had a lovely experience at this hotel. Service was good too. Only once i had an issue was when i had to ask for the outdoor pool jacuzzi to be switch on 3x, seems there was a maintenance issue and none of the 3 different staffs i spoke to got back to me. But other then that, had no problems with the service issue. Room service was also prompt to make up and tidy the room and a nice clean room was always ready when i'm back from the pool/beach in the morning. Also requested some items from house keeping which came in 5mins. Can't say much for the food cos never tried the restaurant. Overall its a nice hotel to get away from the madding bustling crowd, only thing is once night falls it gets a little boring cos Karon is really more geared towards a family beach and you not going to find much action in the night if you're into that.
Nightlife Tip:
Not a party animal location to stay if u ask me, but if you like me, want a nice peaceful quaint place to chill, relax and just to unwind, go tan by the beach and basically do whatever you want at your own time and pace... this is the place for you!!

There aren't alot of hotels in Karon Beach that are actually on the beach so that's why we picked this hotel. It's a good location but wasn't what I was expecting. We've been to Phuket twice now and don't care for it. The pool was very nice and had a swim up bar however it wasn't stocked very well and seemed to always be out of one thing or another. We were put in a dated room, which was ok, but I did see some rooms that were newer. We paid more than I thought the rooms were worth. Overall I wasn't impressed.
Restaurant Tip:
There are a few nice restaurants down the road at Kama Beach.

Multiple Issues
Location in Karon. Quiet yet pleasant ambiance at the pool. For the most part pleasant staff.

Rating this 4 stars is an insult to all 4 star hotels. While the location is great as it is close to town and across from the beach, the hotel has far too many issues to be in a 4 star category. The room is okay but you had to hold down the lever to get the toilet to properly flush. I was in 2 rooms; the same. The internet works on 1 side of the hotel only. When I stayed in the side closest to town I had to exit the room to use it. The also expired a 3 hour card only 1 hour ten minutes after use though after a debate, I was given additional access. The TV had very few channels; about 7.

We had only booked for one night but prolonged our stay for an additional 5 nights. Upon arrival one gets positive vibes, very inviting lobby and smiley staff, always willing to help. They always answered all our requests in a timely and professional manner from making photocopies for us to telling us how much different means of transport should cost, helping out with phone calls, late check out although we had to pay a fee. Fresh beach towels are provided on a daily basis which is helpful. Only meal we ate at hotel was breakfast so cannot comment on food in general, breakfast was fine. I would return to this hotel and would recommend it.
Travel tip:
expresso coffee definitely too expensive at hotel best coffee fix at Adaman coffee shop 1 minute away expressos were less than 1/2 price and much better

South Sea Karon Phuket
Nicely renovated with the sort of resort style atmosphere we were looking for. Spacious room with balcony and wonderful location for beach lovers. Just across the road and you are there at the Karon beach. Near to restaurants, minimart and coffee house.

This is a nice resort facing the Karon beach. A short walking distance to the beach gives much credit to the hotel. The hotel is clean, and staffs are polite. The restaurant serves very nice thai and international food. A must stay for Karon beach tourists! We'll definitely go back to South Sea Karon for our next trip to Phuket.

It is a very nice hotel at beautiful Karon beach.
Staffs are very helpful, room is comfortable, swimming pool is nice. It was a pleasant stay at South Sea Karon. The restaurant in front give a very good view of sunset.

We where very happy with the hotel and will return next year. The hotel was design was pleasing to the eye and the rooms where nice and clean and the view to the pool was good.
Everyone was courteous and ready to help. The only grip I have about the place was that the internet cafe was open but with no employee inside the first evening to help us and the cost of internet was high.. we found a smaller cafe 5 blocks inland that was 1/3 the price.
Nightlife Tip:
Leaving the hotel turn to your right (north) walk to the roundabout and turn right on that street. You will find a little street cafe across the street with life music and good natured people.

karon beach - south sea hotel/resort
location of hotel in karon beach is not bad. opposite of nice side of beach. hotel has small gym - 5 pcs equipment, in airco-ed room.
hotel has a nice swimming pool inside building, but still outdoor.
rooms in new section of hotel - most expensive rooms - are very well decorated and very modern.

if you want to live the beachlife than karon south sea is a good choice as basis. surrounded by big chain formula hotels it is a smaller resort, better called hotel. the pool is nice, as are the rooms in the new section of the hotel. food though in the hotel and its restaurant are relatively expensive and of modest quality. outdoor food is much better. staff is not very friendly. but if you know what you want or dont want it is ok. one real dissatisfaction is the charge for internet connection in your room. but if you are fine to go to internet cafe around corner or just dont want internet at all, you will not experience it as such. karon beach is nice. the hotel is literally at the doorstep. just cross the road and enjoy the blue water and white sand.
