The surrounding area is fun to explore on a motorbike- they rent for 200 baht per day. Very nice staff and lovely garden and rooms.

My friend and I traveled to Phuket for a week and wanted a relaxing holiday away from loud tourist areas such as Patong. We chose Rawai, and each had a double villa at the Rawai Boutique Resort. We gave ourselves 10/10 for our choice - Rawai and the resort were perfect! Rawai Boutique Resort is about 400 metres off the main beach road in Rawai and it's nestled privately between local houses with children, pets and chickens running around. It gives you the feel of living with the locals, which is so much fun! It's easy to walk the 400 metres to the main road, although you could use a motorbike if you wanted - we enjoyed the walk. The double villas are extremely clean, so comfortable and have huge beds (I'm thinking super king). Every convenience is available including air conditioning and a ceiling fan if you don't want to use the air con overnight. The rooms are cleaned daily, towels are changed daily, and the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. Their English isn't perfect but we got by. As there are only eight villas, we pretty much had the pool to ourselves most of the time we used it. The pool and sun loungers are perfectly placed to get sunshine all day and there are umbrellas if you prefer shade - so relaxing. The gardens of the resort are immaculate and showcase a lot of local plants, which I thoroughly enjoyed. This is the perfect place to stay if you want a relaxing and private holiday - Rawai itself is not a "loud music, bright lights" place and this resort captures the peace and tranquility of Phuket and the local lifestyle. Note that there are no food/dining options at Rawai Boutique Resort, but as the main Rawai beach road is only 400 metres away with some amazing restaurants, this was not a problem for us.
Hotel Feature Tip:
There are lots of geckos (lizards) in the rooms - I would recommend that you leave them right where they are! Don't kill them or take them out of the room as they are completely harmless to you and do a good job of eating bugs including mosquitoes and spiders.

very spacious quarter, friendly and accessible service, perfect for a week-long get-away. the swimming pool is good for afternoon and night swimming. for one to go around town and to the beach, one has to hire a motorbike -- but there are many good restaurants within walking distance of the hotel.
Hotel Feature Tip:
should call the hotel for directions as the taxi drivers out of the area may not be familiar with the location.
