Royal Paradise Hotel, Phuket

the hotel is located near the Center of Patong so its in walking distance of most of the interessting things in Patong. But I must say I am disappoited about the standard in the rooms and overall standard, and service at the doors. I thought it would be better than it actuall was comparing to the price. Anyway, the hotel is nice and good, but not great value for money in my opinion. The breakfast doesnt have the range I supposed it would have. The think Im most satisfied with is the service at the securityguards as also has the responsibility to find a parking lot for me. they push the cars forward and backword to find a lot for me always :-). By the way I forgot the passport and some other stuff in the securitysafe, but the took care of it in the reception and gave it to me when I came back. the also tried to reach me at the airport, because they thought I was flying, but I had the car. So that was good service of them. Some hotels gives great value and You want to come back at next oppertunity, this is not a hotel I want come back to because the value is not good enough comparing to the nearby small hotels and guesthouses that offer rooms at good standard for 1 third of the price. Of course the not have the big reception and poolarea...

The room was billed as a "superior" it clearly wasnt, the bathroom was a disgrace, dirty, dated and tile grouting as black as the ace of spades with mould !! Also the kettle they provided did not fit the electrical sockets, it took the staff 3 phone calls and 45 mins to produce an adaptor. Also the air con leaked water into the room ans so on the 3rd and last night of my stay I was moved to a "refurbished superior room " which was abit better but on reflection this Hotel DOES NOT deserve its 4 star rating and I would not recommend staying there .

Nice Garden and pool area, good location. the dinner buffet, is OK, but not especial interresting. our room where quite old even though i pay for an room upgrade, we had by accident made a dirty sheet for the bed, the hotel charge us 500 thb, to clean it. much much more than a new cost.
