I fell on my feet with the Salathai. You cannot go wrong for the money or effort.
- Shopping Tip : The "touting" is fairly full-on around Patong.
The locals have a knack of knowing your "greeness".
Not much should be over 600 baht ($AU 20).
If you are not interested, politely say "no" and move on. We also found it cheaper and more convenient to hire a motorcycle from the hotel and explore that way. Tuk-tuks are convenient but can add up.

Staff was quite attentive and friendly.
- Restaurant Tip : Eat at the Three Spices at the end of the road near the beach. Food was great, a live band, and a great place to people watch.

More like a boutique hotel therefore service is much more personal and efficient.
- Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Beware of having photo taken with the LadyBoys in the street as they will charge 100 baht for each of them in the photograph. Establish price first.

They have a baby-sitter, I booked one for two hours, but came back after 1.5. Somehow I figured I had to pay for the two hours as I "booked" that, but when I got the bill at departure they only charged the 1.5 hour. It's a small thing, I know, but sure nice, and not what one really is used to at hotels in Thailand.
- Restaurant Tip : Breakfast is of course included, but further more you also get a discount if you dine there. And it's for sure a restaurant in the better end.
