Solo travelers United States of America, May 19, 2013	Great place to stay in Phuket Clean, good location, nice pool. 8 From the airport, it's going to cost 800 Baht for a taxi regardless of how much you negotiate and it takes about 45 min to get to Pataong. You can rent scooters right in front of the hotel for $300 baht a day and you just need to bring a copy of your passport and leave a deposit. WE did this everyday and negotiated 500 baht for 2 nice scooters that take you anywhere you want to go. I met a friend here and we had our own rooms. The hotel has WiFi that is sufficient. Each room has a view of the pool from it's balcony or front patio. The staff is attentive and kind, with all the normal Thai Smiles that you'd expect. I will stay here again. It's a good value for the money

One can stay there as solo or one can bring the whole family and kids and friends. I travelled solo and book on the go. I found few other mites staying there so stayed with them few nights. this booking was done through agoda quite earlier as I knew about that other fellas will be there with their families. On leaving the Salathai, Just booked one night for july trip.

The resort environment - I cannot say enough about the staff, outstanding in every way. The location is out of the craziness and steps from the beach. 8 From check-in to check-out it was very relaxing and enjoyable as far as the environment and staff. The only problem I had was with the bed. Two problems: First I was given 2 double beds, I don't like that, not what I requested. and secondary the bed was like sleeping on cement. Other than that the breakfast was great, the place was clean and pleasing. The pool is properly maintained. I particularly enjoy the quiet. It's great to be on the beach or in the entertainment areas and steps away from there you're back at your room.

Room did smell of cigarettes, but staff brought round an air filtration unit that seemed to work well. Excellent location to the beach and room was large and clean. Was surprisingly quiet for noisy Patong. Would recommend the hotel, but wouldn't recommend Patong.

Solo travelers Australia, January 31, 2013	Nice little resort nestled in the heart of Patong Close to the beach, friendly service, nice and quiet, great pool area 9 The staff were really nice from the time I arrived until the time I left. I stayed in one of the deluxe rooms by myself and it was very comfortable. My room faced the pool and I could get up in the morning and walk less than 10 meters and get straight in the pool. The time that I stayed at the Salathai Resort was late January which was great. Being the European winter there were heaps of Europeans there. It was very quiet with them hanging out around the pool during the day and coming back quietly to the motel at night so I had no problems sleeping. The best thing about the Salathai Resort however would have to be the fantastic location - one street up from Bangla Road and only 300 meters from the beach. Restaurant Tip: Be careful what you eat there as I got Thai Tummy on the first day I was there and had explosive diarrhea for the rest of the time I was in Phuket.

Solo travelers Australia, January 15, 2013	Far Away, So Close Location, Staff, Facilities 9.3 This is a quiet little place, 100 metres from the beach, and 200 metres away from the madness of Bang La Street. So it's close to the action but far enough for peace and quiet. The facilities are fine and well-maintained. The staff are excellent, even by the usual very high Thai standards. Popular with middle-aged German tourists when I was there so it is not the sort of place you go to to par-tay. Rather, it is a pleasant little oasis, far enough away from the madness of the beach and Bang La stree, but within easy walking distance and even drunken scooter-driving distance of the action. A nice place to sleep off a bad hangover.

Solo travelers Australia, January 13, 2013	Good location close to beach and noghtlife 8.3 best value hotel in patong, good breakfast,good location to beach ,easy access for taxi's from airport,close to restaurants and shops.pool is clean , rooms are clean and of a good size.overall this is one of the older but classic good value hotels for all vacationers in patong,its not 5 star so dont expect a diamond,but the best value for money in town ,always difficult to book as it is usually full so book early.bed was firm but comfortable and air con worked fine .
