Beautiful hotel with a staff that out shines the best hotels in the states.
This hotel is a beautiful gem. The staff is amazing and the rooms are beautiful and clean. The pool and the water feature around the hotel are breathtaking. I would recommend upgrading to the Baray suites, they are huge and have a waterway system that goes around the hotel. The waterways look like Venice. We will be staying there on our next trip and the ones that follow.
Nightlife Tip : a little sleazy near the beach. Still a ways from the hotel.

The hotel is decorated with Arabic influence, location is away from the busy streets on Kata Beach.
Not close to the beach but there is a shuttle bus every hour. Internet although free did not work
We stayed there for three days but at the Villa as there were 3 of us, which was far nicer than the standard rooms which would have been a bit cramped and stuffy for 3 people. Own private pool and separate gated entrance to the Villa. Amazing rooms, with all the mod cons, wireless internet connection , iPod dock, plasma TV and wonderful bathrooms. Beautifully decorated and easy to chill in the villa and use the pool.
Internet although free was not always available and although attempts were made to fix the problem, connection was pretty random.
Restaurant was good and the food was at reasonable prices but we did get bitten alot in there.
For those wanting the beach a shuttle bus is available every hour or its a 10 min walk.
The staff were polite and so very helpful although understanding English was not great when trying to organise a complicated tour to one of the islands and dealing with transfers.

- Amazingly beautiful design of hotel rooms, pool, restaurant and everything else!
- rooms just 2-3 steps from the pool
- wooden decoration rooms
- great breakfast
- 10-15 min walking to the center
- many mosquitos
We stayed in this hotel during our honeymoon in Thailand, and it was the best hotel of our honeymoon ! It is a quiet hotel with beautiful wooden decorated rooms. We had a room near the pool, and was great. At the beginning we were afraid that a room near the pool would be too noisy and lacking privacy. But we found the hotel to be quiet, and the room has a big curtain to keep the privacy. The pool has cute fountains. The breakfast was delicious! (don't skip the pancake desert, it was the best pancake we've ate!). They thought about every detail in the design of the room, with the guest's comfort in mind! At after noon the staff would come in the room and close the mosquito net covering the room. The bed was very comfortable and the room was very clean. The only drawbacks were the distance to the beach and center: it is 10-15 minutes by walk. On the other hand this makes the hotel more quiet and the shops near it less expenssive. Another drawback is the large amount of mosquitos, also in the room. Use repellent mosquito material always! We needed it especially before we went to the rest room...
Shopping Tip : Because the hotel is a bit farther from the beach, you can get lower prices at near shops. They would start at the same price as in the center, but could go lower with the price if you make an insistent bargaining.

The grounds are delightful, the staff incredibly caring and always smiling, the rooms lovely and well kept, the relaxing sounds of water falling, and the feeling of staying in a private little paradise all make Sawasdee Village a thoroughly relaxing and enjoyable stay
Some rooms are larger than others. The larger rooms are more comfortable, though all are quite fine.
Sawasdee Village is tucked away off the beach (about a ten minute walk) in a little green oasis. The design of the hotel is ingenious, giving a wonderful sense of privacy. It also buffers from the hustle and bustle of the beach making for a perfect retreat. The hotel restaurant is among the best in the area and the service throughout the hotel is great. Should we return to Phuket this is where we will stay. We did take the opportunity to tour the Bari Village, an incredibly upscale part of the hotel. Truly spectacular and again ingeniously designed for privacy and pleasure.
Restaurant Tip : Though the service could be better the Jazztaurant on the hillside overlooking Kata Beach offers fine food and a lovely view of the village and sea with some lovely jazz wafting from the second floor of the restaurant. Makes for a romantic evening.

gorgeous grounds and decoration, pool was perfect, nice touches like personalised letters. Food and drinks great as is the breakfast. Free internet in each room, free beach transfer
Mossies can be a problem but the hotel provide spray and coils. Rooms a little dark but cossie.Sun loungers should be free on the beach
Read some great things about this hotel and I would agree with most of them it is gorgeous. The decor and gardens are amazing particularly at night when the gardens are lit up. This hotel really is a little piece of peace and tranquility in a fairly busy area. Mosquitoes were around the first night but we hardly noticed them after that. The hotel light coils outside the rooms and provide spray. The rooms are a little dark because they are surrounded by lush gardens which makes it actually very romantic
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : take taxi to Rawai around 400 baht, then get a long tail fishing boat for 300 baht each person return to coral island the snorkelling is amazing

Staff were fantastic so friendly and helpful. Such a relaxing time in amazing surroundings.
Thought rooms wood be bit bigger but were really nice.
When we arrived outside the resort we were not sure what to expect, but as soon as we walked in we fell in love with the place. It was so peaceful and we could not hear the street or traffic. It was like being in a tropical garden in the middle of nowhere!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Phi phi islands by speedboat were amazing.

If you dont go behind the big doors which leads you to those tucked away exclusive villas, i would never stayed at this hotel. Loved the idea of the villas. Loved the BIG bed (probably the biggest I ever slept in). Enjoyed the split level, loved the indoor pool in the lounge area, loved the foot bath 'hidden' near the bed. Loved the way you could swim out from your villa, feeling like the hidden secret community from the past. Good spa.
Boring breakfast and boring looking restaurant.
However, staying at the villas we had our own private area where one could wine and dine in privacy.
As soon as one walked out from the hotel, one was reminded of the 'MASSSAAAAGE'
A hidden pearl! Lovely designed and thought about villas. Sexy and romantic, comfortable and fun.
As I bring my work, I felt I did not want to leave the villa, had all i needed. Even my own butler. Which the breakfast was more exciting. SPA held high quality.
Travel tip : Take left out from the hotel, cross the road. On the right hand side (think it was a green sign), you find a nice local Thai restaurant.
To the very right from the hotel, another good food stop. Good spa at the hotel with high quailty treatments.

I like everything from the hotel, especially the staff is so helpful and the overall atmosphere in the hotel is so unforgettable. I bought the lemon grass fragrant from the SPA shop and I will do it at home definitely. The breakfast is not very complicated but everything you need is there. The SPA is nice and the special promotion to hotel guest buy 1 get 1 free is highly recommended.
The bed is a little bit hard. All others are perfect.
Our stay is very short just for 3 nights but I will definitely come back to Sawasdee Village Hotel. Before I choose this hotel I review quite a few hotel information from various website. I found that Sawasdee is the most highly recommend hotel by most travelers, then I choose this one. Once I get off the taxi, I knew that I made a great choice. I also get a chance to visit the new village area of Sawasdee, it is like dream place. I will go there next time to choose the new area. I like very much the bar in the swimming pool. Strongly recommend you to stay and share your experience.

Very relaxing atmosphere.
Very quiet and intimate boutique hotel.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
The restaurants are affordable and the food is delicious.
We really enjoyed the quietness and tranquility of the hotel. This hotel is great for couples who want to get away from the large family-oriented hotel complexes. I would not recommend this hotel for families with small children.

Small boutique style, with tropical gardens that made you think you were in paradise.
Meals and drinks were a little expensive
Being picked up at the airport in a car instead of a mini bus was a pleasant surprise and on getting to the hotel at near midnight and dead tired the night guest service officers made check in most pleasant. The room has a lovely ambience and you also got a list of bedding options. harder pillows, softer mattress etc. The gardens and the grounds wre my favourite feature. every time i entered the hotel i felt i was escaping from the hussle and bussle of Phuket. It was easy to relax once you entered Sawasdee.

Our stay here was delightful. From the extremely warm welcome on arrival to the delicious breakfast we really enjoyed our stay. We found the place an oasis of calm- it is very small with only 40ish rooms but I prefer this to large development where you could be anywhere. There is free internet in the room but the TV is through the computer monitor which isn't great but lets face it you're not in Thailand to watch telly. There is a small restaurant a couple of doors up (away from beach) run by a lovely couple which served the best food we have ever had in Thailand. The hotel isn't on the beach but we walked which took a good 25mins. Rooms are large and lovely if a tiny bit dark.

The architecture and gardens are simply stunning.
Nice quiet location. Great price.
The rooms are a little small and aged but expected for the low price. Computer and internet in the room but the TV is on the computer also which is difficult to watch. Away from the beach.
If you are after an inexpensive, unique hideaway with atmosphere then the Sawadee Village is ideal. If you are after luxury and excitment at your doorstep then it is probably not for you. The gardens and ponds in particular exude peace and tranquility. Perfect place for a couple on a budget. Not so good for kids.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire a motorbike from across the street and getting around is easy as long as you stay away from Patong

Nice and calm, best place to relax and get out of the tourism crowds. Friendliest staff we ever met.
Rooms are a bit small, but you get used to it and the pros of the hotel just outweigh any cons...
Already our second stay at the Sawasdee and it was as overwhelming as the first time. The staff is just great, the rooms are clean and nicely decorated and the whole hotel area is created like a rain forest. Excellent breakfast and a very good restaurant in the evening.
We will definitely come again and clearly recommend couples and those who want to relax to book a room at the Sawasdee!

- nice & cosy place to relax
- very friendly staff
- great restaurant
- everybody is focused on customer's satisfaction
didn't notice any (except the family with the two kids next to our room). They seemed pretty misplaced. This is definitely no place for families with kids... We got another nice room without family next to us.
We came to the Sawasdee for the second time in Oct 2009 after Nov 2006 because we already fell in love with it at the first stay. During our South-Thailand tour we stayed 4 nights and it was just as great as at the first time. The only difference was the new built luxury area, which we were allowed to look at. Very high level houses on high level prices. Definitely something for honeymooners! Our 'standard' room was also very nice, though a bit small, but we knew that from our first stay and you get used to it. The Sawasdee is just one of the nicest places on Phuket, with it's rainforest garden and the nice and detailed interior everywhere you just look around you and feel the relaxing atmosphere of this great place.
