Friendly staff. Excellent food. Beautiful grounds.
Room was small, too crowded (the bed was HUGE - totally unnecessary. Bathroom smelled horrible.
New Year's Eve banquet was mandatory. $120USD each. No drinks, not even soft drinks, included. Terrible waste of money. Value was, at most, $50.
Very old. Upkeep is disappointing for these lovely buildings. Would not recommend this hotel unless very basic room suits you. Prices during holidays were very high compared to low season. If we are going to spend this kind of $$ we would expect something much nicer.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 10 minute walk to Kata beach. Also shuttle runs every hour. Convenient.

Tropical Water garden surrounds.
Prompt, friendly service.
Very clean and cool.
Small, quiet, pretty, private hotel
Thai Decor.
Good Bathroom.
Private outdoor seating (best with garden rooms)
Great breakfast.
Best for couples or business people.
Free high speed internet.
Room has a safe.
Rooms (4m x 3m approx, plus 2m x 3m bathroom) are dominated by a massive canopied king bed which leaves insufficient room to comfortably use the computer, or to get past a person using the computer. Twin rooms have two canopied mattressess using the same bed base, thus no space between the two "beds". Rooms cannot accomodate three people. It appears that (almost ?) all of the rooms are the same size and configuration, so deluxe is probably "better" rather than bigger. The standard rooms with breakfast are good value. I'm not convinced the pricier rooms would be good value for money.
Very limited selection of inhouse movies. Only a few available in English.
A DVD player should be added to all rooms, and a wide choice of DVD's made available
This is a Thai syle hotel. If you need the tennis courts, gyms etc, then go with the standard western resorts. We didn't want those and really liked Sawasdee. The staff are lovely, welcoming and caring. There are about 50 rooms and the small common areas are connected by tropical garden paths with water features, creating a quiet, cool oasis off a Phuket side street. While there is adequate room storage, it will not suit those looking for large spaces or having multiple large bags. The emphasis is on cool shade, and the lovely pool is shady. It is deep enough and long enough to swim or play. About 4'6" deep. The restaurant has very good food, great service, ambience and an excellent breakfast to suit any tastes. However, there are also many less expensive restaurants nearby for choice. The beach shuttle is efficient and runs every hour between 9am and 6pm, or you could walk through the heat (10-15 mins) to the beach. A nice place to use as a base for exploring Phuket. Most guests were couples in late 20's through to mid 50's. Very few child guests, and apart from the toddler pool, no facilities targeted for children.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : 1. Try the country club restaurant. Variety, very clean, well priced. Nice ice-cream sundaes. But the staff do have trouble if you order anything non-standard. Service can be disjointed, especially when they are busy. Turn right out of the hotel and then left at the end of the street and walk on about 100m.
2. Visit the night market and bargain hard. Prices initially asked are twice the going rate.
3. Go SNUBA diving at Rachi Is.
4. Parasail or hire a Jet Ski at the beach.

Beautiful gardens, AAA+ service, great food, good room features,
location, room size, bad odor in our bathroom (came from outside)
Besides the fact that the garden view deluxe rooms are small, this resort was perfect for us. Its a 10-15 min walk to the beach from the Sawasdee Village but they have shuttles leaving on the hour so its all good. About the odor, I never reported it to house keeping because we were only there for three days, but it kinda bothered me. I think it came through the window and probably only affected the room we stayed in. Regardless of anything I mentioned here, if we ever go back to Phuket, Thailand, we'll definitely be staying there again. Without a doubt, this place is ideal for any couple.

everything, the staffs, the villa, the environment, the spa, the services...etc
We've stayed in several hotels in phuket during this trip, Sawadees is the BEST!!! EVERY single staffs are friendly and helpful, and the villa is just awesome, the design is extraordinary, you couldn't find it in any 5 stars hotel. THIS IS the BEST i've ever experienced in the past 30 years. The services is excellent!!! more than you expect. They run to your room and ring your doorbell in 2 seconds right after you hang up. They treat you as a family!!! I love Sawadees!!
Travel tip : 1) many restaurant and road-street snack available just 5 mintues walk from the hotel, you have many choices.
2) the Spa inside the hotel is excellent, you've gotta try it out!

The archetecture of this place and the setting around the pool is stunning and intimate. Staff
is fabulous, helpful and friendly.
Small rooms, no space to put clothes away.
Little area to walk around. Seatting around pool limited.
Even the Deluxe rooms which we had were so small
you could hardly walk in them. No storage space to put clothes away.
The transfer fee they offered was even higher than
the one I could get from the airport myself.
Breakfast was good.
I've traveled extensively throughout asia for many years, and I think this place is lovely but
overrated for the price you pay. Quite a walk to the beach, about 20 minutes and minimal shuttle service provided by the hotel. That definely should be improved. We had to pay about 150 BHT
each way, which is $6 US.

good thai restaurant in the hotel, there is computer with free internet in the room and free wifi as well. free shuttle bus to the beach every hour and quite nearby to many restaurants and entertainments
room is a bit too small but the unique decoration easily make up for that. the tap water is a bit yellowish but it might be normal in this area as other hotels also have the same problem. breakfast can be improved with more selection of food. maybe like phad thai noddle etc
the hotel is located about 45 min from the airport. taxi cost about 800 baht. if you have 8-10 people traveling together, ask for a van which costs around 1000 baht. the taxi driver from the airport will usually take you to a travel agency. there are lots of tour or attraction to chose from. the elephant ride at the safari was quite fun. the ride to the snorkling site might be too rough for some people especially traveling with small children. there is a thai boxing match on every Monday and Friday in Karon. overall we enjoyed staying at sawasdee village hotel. ve find it very relaxing. if you can afford it, try the villa. it has a private pool and bar and very big nice room.

free internet in the room. 10-15 mins walk to the beach or you can take a free shuttle bus provided by the hotel. good food in the hotel and there are many restaurants and bars near the hotel
room is a bit too small but has a unique touch on the design
we enjoyed every single thing about this hotel. friendly and helpful staffs. the staffs will keep your room clean and spotless every day. make sure you try the restaurant in the hotel. it was the best food we had in phuket at a very reasonable price. you need to bargain hard on the taxi (it is usually a big van). depend on where you go but you might want to try half price from what the driver is asking for. a ride from the airport is about 45 min and cost 800 baht. most taxi driver usually ask for 800 baht for a destination that takes around 15-20 mins.

free breakfast, free wifi and internet in the room, good thai food in the restaurant
we had a good time in this hotel. plenty of space for children to run around. lots of garden and fish pond. very relaxing. although the room is a bit small but it was well designed and very unique. there are plenty of bars across the street and restaurants along the beach but one must try the food in the hotel's restaurant as it is just simply delicious at a very reasonable price. the beach is just 15-20 mins walk away but they do provide free shuttle bus every hour. make sure you bargain hard for taxi. there is supposed to be a very good phad thai noodle at patak road near Baan Karon resort but we couldnt find it. there are plenty of things to do and see in phuket like snorkling, elephant ride, phuket aquarium etc.

Amazing hotel, great pool, nice food
The street outside/location
This is one of the nicest hotels I have ever stayed in, full of character and charm. As soon as you walk you will be amazed. The pool is really nice and the staff very friendly. You won't want to leave the hotel as the surrounding area does not do it justice. The restaurant is really nice and not too pricey.
Restaurant Tip : The pool bar is quality

The friendly check-in staff. A beautiful garden setting that felt like a tranquil oasis set in the trauma of 'urban' Kata village. The free internet in the room and descent breakfast were both very big plusses.
Although the hotel does it's best to market itself as an intimate retreat, our "garden deluxe" room was simply small and dated. Nothing cozey about squeezing past the bed or stepping over suitcases. The beach is atleast a ten minute walk away that requires some skill in avoiding traffic and sunburn as there is no shade along the route. There is a pc in the room which doubles as the television, too bad the screen is only 14inches!
As soon as we arrived at the entrance, we knew we had made a mistake. Although the hotel itself has imacculate grounds, the entrance is from a fairly busy and chaotic little street. Although the checkin host did his best in explaining all the features of the room, including the on/off switch of the lights, there was nothing "deluxe" to be seen. The room was dark and dominated by the very comfortable bed. There was probably only one meter space to get by the foot of the bed and the sides allowed only a little more room. The bathroom had only a basic shower with a concrete floor and again, nothing to deserve "deluxe" in the title. The accomodation felt like an old military barrack that had been converted into a hotel. Outside there were plants everywhere and despite the clever use of space, there is no hiding the compactness of the grounds and the feeling that too much has been squeezed into too little area. Especially considering the price tag per night, we were very disappointed with the value for money and wanted to check out early the next day. In hindsight, we were glad we didn't stay the full 4 days and gladly lost cancellation fee. I have to say that the staff were even very friendly and good natured in helping us cancel the remainder of our stay. Taken together with the lovely grounds, it is the sweet and service orientated nature of the staff that should appeal to most travellers. Unfortunately, the size of the miniscule room and the lack of amenities would be much better reflected by a lower price when compared to other nearby hotels or resorts.

professional and helpful staff. (with the exception of the guy on morning shift, 25th Nov, who provided below par services.)
good landscaping
very small rooms
air-con in the room are individual units and its not cold most of the time.
in my opinion this hotel is most suitable for authors or music composers looking for a spark of inspiration. The quiet and tranquil atmosphere provides a condusive environment for ideas generation. On the flip side, this hotel is relatively small in terms of property and room size. Together with the significant landscaping,it invokes a somewhat 'claustraphobic' feeling, something akin to being in a very cramped up space and one have difficulty 'breathing'. Air-conditioning in the rooms are individual units and its not cold most of the time. (we had experienced that with 3 rooms!)

outstanding service! I am from New York where service is key and I don't like waiting long for anything. Even though everything else is slow on the island, not the service at sawasdee. This makes your stay even more relaxing.
the bathroom had a smell of rotten eggs which I think is the odor of the sulfur in the island water but I just kept the bathroom door closed.
We were looking for a nice quiet getaway being from busy New York City and Sawasdee was just the place. It was secluded but the moment you step out there is Kata beach with all its hustle and bustle. I found the location excellent because we also wanted to go visit southern Phuket and there was an excellent Pad thai shop that the locals eat at for only $1 US dollar! Much cheaper than the tourist traps that they have at the large commercial restaurants not to mention you get a taste of the local living.

The location is fabulous, close to the action with still a feeling of seclusion. It is not on the beach, but about a 5-10 walk or use the free hotel shuttle during the day. Sawasdee's employees, including the front desk, restaurant wait staff, porter, housekeeping, and spa staff are all incredibly friendly. The pool is on the smaller side, but like the hotel grounds, is absolutely beautiful and immaculate. The room even has a PC with internet connectivity and the whole hotel is a wireless hotspot. For the money, I felt this was an exceptional bargain.
Hot water in the bathroom was somewhat spotty, but seemed to work best in early morning. No other complaints at all.
From check in to check out, we felt incredibly pampered during our stay. Our room, 121, is an end unit, a little small, but very efficient and suitable to our needs. A small refrigerator doubles as a minibar but can also be used to stock up on sodas and beer from the nearby 7-11 which also has 2 ATM's. The room is only a few steps to the pool and swim up bar. The pool is smallish, but sized well for the number of rooms and has a nice swim up bar. The spa is top class; and the complimentary breakfast was a high point of our stay and is a great way to start the day. When we return to Phuket - and we will - we'll definitely book another stay at the Sawasdee Resort.
Restaurant Tip : Buy your snacks and beer or sodas at the nearby 7-11. The pizza/German restaurant at the end of the road has very good pizzas and will box them to go for a late night, pool side meal.

Awesome pool and surroundings
The rooms were quite small with not much natural lightm, however were really luxuorious
Really enjoyed our stayed here, there were so many nice touches like a freee basket of fruit on arrival, the beds being pulled down at night and the surroundigns were amazing. We had a 3 hour spa treatment which was awesome. Viewed the pool villa rooms that were amazing, would def pay the extra if on a special occasion like a honeymoon.

The hotel is quiet, in a beautiful tropical garden with a completely relaxing zen atmosphere.
The staff are also extremely friendly, helpful and courteous.
The restaurant is stunningly beautiful with excellent food.I travel extensively all over the world, and this is one of the best resorts I have ever stayed in.
As hard as I have tried, I cannot find anything to fault this resort with. The only thing i can say is that for a sevn night stay, I would have appreciated more closet space.
This resort was like a dream come true. The rooms were spread out in a tropical garden with stunning use of fish ponds, fountains and other water features. The swimming pool was a mixture of Thai meets Bollywood meets Morocco and was breathtaking. The staff there, especially the welcome service right on the front door by the security staff, would put world class hotel chains to shame. The amenities and service provided were courteous and friendly at all times. I think I took over 100 photos of this resort as I wanted to capture it on film.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The beach near the hotel is fine, but if you rent a motorbike or take a quick taxi ride at THB200 the beach at Kata Noi is much more relaxed and less crowded. It is easier to find Thai food on the beach there than at the main Kata beach. As the hotel provides beach towels and a beach bag, it avoids having to pack them in your luggage.
