Awesome pool.
Very clean and tidy rooms.
Well-decorated rooms!
Locatino - just 2 mins to the beach.
Massage for 200baht nextdoor, or 300baht for oil.
150baht manicures/pedicures too.
Can hire motorbikes for 200baht a day.
Big 1 supermarket two streets away. Got woken up both nights.
Expensive breakfast.
The staff were very rude to us when we didn't bring our passport, as we actually live in Bangkok. The hotel was awesome - new rooms, with awesome bathrooms! A shower and a bathtub! And awesome flat screen TV, bathrooms, sandals...
The pool was great - the full length of the hotel, so never seemed crowded, and plenty of deck chairs, or massage by the pool.
Right by the big round about in Karon, so only a 2 minute walk to the beach.
Restaurant Tip : Try "The Little Mermaid" for breakfast, to the left of the hotel (across the road). A big breakfast is only 100baht, compared to the 150baht at the hotel. Or you can order a-la-carte. The restaurant is Lonely Planet recommended.
There are several cheap thai food places in the soi's of patak road too.

I love this hotel. It is in karon beach, about 10-15 minutes away from patong. If you want more privacy and quiet, karon beach is better than patong.i took the deluxe room facing the pool, which is quite spacious.each room has a flat screen lcd tv and you can borrow dvd's for free at the counter. There are some nice restaurants within walking distance from the hotel. I am definitely coming back...
Nightlife Tip : A small bar has a trio playing good music 70-90's.
Happy hour prices for drinks are very reasonable

Great location at Karon Beach, large comfortable room, and the bathroom was great. Excellent hotel... excellent value for money. The location is perfect - very close to the beach and direct access to plenty of restaurants and everything else you might need. The room was very big and very comfortable, and the bathrooms with the large rain shower was excellent.
Hotel Feature Tip : Try a direct pool access room - the balconies are very small on the upstairs rooms.

Really liked the standard of the hotel, its very new and bright. Nice bathroom. Pool is good. Free Internet. Big TV and DVD player in the room. DVD outlet in reception. Good breakfast. Great location near the beach :) Expensive laundry facilities. Some of the staff speak very bad English. I really enjoyed my stay at this hotel, i have never been here before but would definitely stay here again. The location of the hotel is very good, near the beach, restaurants and shops, and the standard is great. Nice staff, clean rooms, and i really valued the free Internet. I would recommend it for others.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : The Phi Phi Island is gorgeous and its only a boat ride away! The tours are a bit touristy but its worth a look. I recommend maybe renting a private boat, it would make the trip even better!

Good location, value for money. Staffs are not trained for hospitality industry. There are total 3 Sugar Palm Hotels in Phuket. The one I stayed is called Sugar Palm Karon located at the Karon Beach (tell the taxi driver to slow down when it passes by the roundabout at Karon town, the hotel is just 5 meters away from the roundabout) The hotel is only opened last year so it is still consider a very clean property. Love the swimming pool, very inviting. The Karon Beach is not the best in Phuket (I love Kata beach more) but Karon Beach is still far better than Padong. In Karon there are lots to offer, including the mouth watering restaurant RED ONION which is 800 meters on the left side of the hotel. In the hotel, they do provide DVD movies at no cost. The room has a DVD player with a 37 inch Samsung LCD. Bathroom has shower and bath tub. Overall it is a good hotel although the staffs are not friendly at all. Breakfast are ok, they do serve good american breakfast at 150 baht per person.

- no taxis in area We throughly enjoyed our stay at sugar palm. The hotel was brand new inside, and the rooms were furnished to a high standard- big tv, big beds nice balcony and the bathroom was very luxourious!
It was in a good location very near the beach and restaurants, the pool was really nice.
It was good value for money and very quiet and peaceful.
The only downside was that it was quite difficult to get a taxi and the hotel were not very competent at ordering one but it was a small price to pay for such a nice hotel.
I will definitely be returning.

Good location, nice decorated (modern) type of rooms with a very nice bathtub (somewhat small for 2 people ;) Staff not so friendly at all times... they could certainly do better! Sugar Palm Karon Resort is a new hotel with a modern design with the pool located alongside with the building, giving direct pool access to the bottom floor residents... cool feature I think!
The staff at this hotel could perform better, and 150 Baht for this breakfast??? Walk 70 metres to the other side of the street and get a better brakfast for 100 baht!
Shopping Tip : Do never pay more then 50% of the sellers initial proposal! ;)

-hotel staffs aren't that friendly First hotel we stayed in Phuket and the reason we picked it is because of the cheap price and convenient location. The inside and outside of the hotel is pretty much the same as they posted on the site except the place is getting old and lack of maintanence. However for such price I think Sugar Palm is a good choice to stay especially for people who wouldn't spend much time inside the hotel. We didn't swim in their pool but we see quite many people playing around there.

Big clean room, bathroom, nice TV and dvd player, great bed, close to the beach no clothes hooks in bathroom very pleased with our stay which was relaxing and made even better with the room facilities. The room was spotless and odourless. Bathroom was a fair size with a big bathtub and a separate shower. Overall services were good and prompt and the receptionists helpful. you can even borrow 2 dvds per day from a decent collection w/o any charges. only abt 15 mins to patong. pubs, pharmacy, restaurants and mini market just outside the hotel.
Restaurant Tip : every sat and tues there is a night market in a thai temple just up the road from the hotel offering excellent and cheap local thai delicacies. seafood is reasonably priced. there is a good pub in front of the hotel's entrance run by a friendly owner.

so high..little tired to go up to the room.. there was a problem upon check in with the room but we got helpful from the receptions..we got nice room,beautiful but little bit tired to go up to the room because the golf car didn't run all the time..we need to call someone when we want.
Restaurant Tip : near restaurant and about 5-10 minutes to the beach by walk.

Lovely clean room. Nice Plasma TV and bed. Friendly staff. Location. Nice pool. Very cheap mini bar. Karon Beach - lovely clean beach. I loved staying at this hotel. If your going to Phuket and want to stay somewhere quite but not too far from the nightlife then I would definetly recommend this Hotel. I can't believe I only paid about £18 a night for my stay here. You will definetly pay more for similar elsewhere. I would stay here again. If you have any problems then ask to speak to "Daa." She know's her stuff, speaks English and sets standards for her colleagues to follow.
Nightlife Tip : Check out the family run bar just outside the Hotel complex. A lovely place to have your "firt" drink before moving on for the night... The best dark rum and coke and cocktails we had in Thailand!! Try the coconut milkshake.
I stayed in Karon because of the beach. However, if your planning to go into Patong (Bangla Road)often then it will cost you 200-250 bhat each way which is a rip off considering it is not that far. It will be cheaper booking accommodation in Patong and putting up with the dirty beach and noise there.
