had a pleasant stay at this hotel that had good facilities in the room and a nice big and clean swimming pool. pity there is no gym, but close (2 minutes) from the beach was an ideal location and 10 mins by tuk tuk to Patong. The staff were friendly and the room was cleaned every day, all for a good value too. I would stay here again if I wanted a quiet hotel away from the noise of Patong.

LOCATION - On Patak Road and in July it was pretty quiet but with a few good restaurants and street stalls. A couple of convenience stores and an internet cafe are across the street and it was virtually across the road from the beach. Great if you want a quieter holiday but bad if you'd love the hustle and bustle of Patong (about 10mins but tuk-tuk). ROOM - had the pool view room with balcony. The interior and style of the room was nice. I loved having a bath too. Bed was comfy, clean and king-sized. Aircon was quiet and cold. Loved having a LCD tv and DVD player and the tv channels was good (had most of the cable channels like Discovery). Housekeeping was exceptional and the room was spotless every day. Fridge (mini bar drinks was dirt cheap and pretty much the same as outside) and safety deposit box was handy. RESORT - service was adequate and quite good. Helped us as much as they could despite communication probs. Hiring us cars, bikes and airport transfers wasn't a problem. Breakfast was adequate but still nothing to rave about. Pool was excellent, clean, warm and quiet during low season. Staff (especially housekeeping and maintenance guys) were very friendly. Overall I would return to the resort. I loved the close proximity of the beach and even though I miss the bustle and variety of Patong - I would rather stay here and hire a car for a few days. Not my fave beach but still a good base in Phuket. Loved it.

Hotel is an easy walk to the beach which is really nice although a bit crowded. Nice shopping in Karon.

• Travel tip : Stay in Karon not Patong. It is much quieter with a really nice beach.
