We enjoyed our stay here because the facilities were modern and well-maintained. The location was very good as well, just a 2 or 3 minute walk to the beach. The breakfast was also very good and had both Western and Asian foods. The staff was very friendly and we felt safe staying here. We found only one drawback: hard beds. But hard beds are usually the norm in many parts of Asia, especially in Thailand. Overall, we found our stay very enjoyable at Sugar Palm Kata Beach. We would definitely stay there again if we can get back to Phuket in the near future. The easy beach access and clean facilities were a big plus. We chose the delux pool view room which had a king bed and both a tub and shower. The decor was very modern and we found our room very clean.
Restaurant Tip : Kata Beach BBQ restaurant was very good and inexpensive. Go to down the beach and turn left, almost all the way to the end (only about 250 meters).

The hotel room is good and clean. There are free DVD for you to borrow. If you have nothing to do, just enjoy watchin movies in your room. From the hotel, you can walk to Kata beach, and you can bring the hotel's towels to the beach with you too. It's good. The food at MALI restuarnat is not bad. But, the parking lots is very small. If you drive, it's not good for you. And, please be careful about your valuables. Don't leave them in the room or you will lose some items.

* slow internet connection overall, i love every thing about this hotel. i love my spacious room, warm ambience, helpfull staff, clean environment, and sometimes you can easily find a local hawker in front of the hotel.
it's the hotel that absolutely a good choice for family and couple.there's also some small shop offering laundry and ironing for 70Bath/kg. you can rent a motorcycle or take tuk-tuk or luxurious taxi in front of the hotel. everything as you like.
Restaurant Tip : just go nearby, there's a lot of caffe and resto around the hotel.

Priceworthy, friendly staff, clean, fresh, super location, great SPA/ pool environment If anything, the breakfast could contain more items This is my all-time favorite in phuket when you add up what you get for your money. Its always competitive in price, often full, even during low season, super staff, great services (free dvd retal, wifi). If you visit them often you can expect a free upgrade if available. Calm environment, closeness to great restaurants and shops.

Best features: the people (staff) and very nice little guestures like, the pink drink, the wet towel, realy showing the room, very good bed, beautiful swimming pool and reception and very homely room. Bathroom: door to the toilet opens towards the toilet, this makes it difficult to enter. The soaps are in the toilet room, the shower door open towards the toilet, this makes it impossible to get the soaps. The towels are in the shower area, when you turn on the shower, the towels are getting wet.
The television has only 2 English speaking channels.
Excellent homely style hotel, with beautiful decorated rooms, beautiful swimming pool, spa, massage, fitness room and very friendly professional staff. If you change my minor remarks about the television and turn the doors around in the shower / toilet area and place the towels elsewhere, it would be perfect ! But those are only small details, I will come back soon and advise my customers to stay with you aswell.

Nice location, swimming pool and jacuzzi are nice. Not enough Space for sun loungers and not many loungers. Liked my stay at sugar palm , nice clean rooms and short walk to the beach. Some very nice places to eat close by. Kata seems quiet and relaxed for nightlife if thats what you want!
I would come back to Kata after driving round Phuket and visiting other Beaches.

noisy, mediocre breakfast, unfriendly staff The hotel is situated good at one minute from the beach. The rooms have a very modern design but ours was a bit smelly we found. We believe this might be because of the couch. The bedlinnen was clean although we are not fans of the sheet/blanket/sheet system they use. Internet acces was ok. true agoda so value for money was excellent.

breakfast needs more variety For the price this hotel is a very good value. The staff seemed very attentive, especially housekeeping. The location is also excellent; only a few hundred meters to the beach. The pool is a bit small and crowded but with the beach so close who really cares. I would stay here again for sure and recommend this property to other travellers.

4. Value for money 1. Check in staff not well manners I stayed from 24-28 with 4 of my friends at this hotel and we paid for 6 pax for 2 rooms. When we checked in, the check-in staff demanded we pay for 1 extra bed and 1 extra breakfast. After 15min, they upgraded our room to deluxe on the miscommunications. We didnt pay the extra bed as we do need the extra bed. However overall, the hotel is above my expectation as the price is great
Shopping Tip : Ensure you plan well to Patong as 1 taxi trip will cost u 400THB per way.

it has a modern design and very close to the beach, the staff are nice (especially the daytime ones), pool is lovely the shower head, although big, doesnt give out a lot of water and makes showering difficult with the tiny trickling water... also the heater is either too hot or too cold... superior rooms a bit far away from the pool and reception and doesn;t have an elevator connecting to it We liked sugar palm at first sight. it was a sweet modern little building and had a lovely pool. However, we arrived very late and the bell boy that night was clearly expecting some tips when he waited at the door for a very long time expectantly... we didn't have any small change therefore didn't give him anything and the next few days including the day we checked out we found him clearly avoiding us. that wasn't very nice of him. HOWEVER, Mr. SUWIT SRISAWATI was the perfect bellboy... he was very helpful and always smiling, went an extra mile to help us. We found him and the other staff including the receptionist in the morning extremely kind and caring. Made the stay lovely. My mom didn't enjoy walking up all the stairs to our room and it didn't seem fair that just because you paid slightly less you get no elevator access to your room. So that's about it... Sugar Palm is nice, not too bad, but nothing to shout about.
Restaurant Tip : we tried Natalie's in front of the restaurant... their friend rice was good and so was the nam prik pla...

very good location, 150m to kata beach and to other convenience stores and restaurants. we stayed here for 2 nights. staff werent THAT friendly. internet room was full of mosquitoes. free dvd. helpfull information desk with alot ot brochures on day trips. swimming pool wasnt that big but was also okay. clean room, clean bathroom, safety box incld. tv doesnt show too much channels. if you go out of the hotel, there are alot of restaurants, you can just walk 5 minutes to the beach and bring your towel and sun bathe. overall this hotel wasnt so bad as what we payed for.
Shopping Tip : rather shop in patong, too expensive in kata.
