Spent part of my honeymoon at the Sugar Palm Resort and absolutely enjoyed my stay there. Spent most of our time outdoors but on being driven in by the rains, it was fun to know that we could also rent DVD's. The girls at the Reception were very friendly and helpful and they even offered to pack our breakfast since we had to leave early to the airport. That did make our day. Would also like to mention the breakfast spread, was pretty sumptuous with variations every morning. Would certainly recommend this hotel for a warm cozy stay at a very reasonable cost.

Loved the aesthetics of the entire hotel. Spot on efficiency in check in and handling requests. Perfect location.

The Spa is way too overpriced. And the honey bee's around the Juice Dispenser sometimes can give you the creeps..one actually dropped into my glass of orange juice.

Overall I liked this facility. The rooms were nice, and they were complimented by free internet and a quiet pool area. It is in the same location as many higher priced resorts, but about 600-900 baht less per night.

Nice rooms and well-designed facility and free internet. Usually quiet.

Staff occasionally noisy at night (signing songs). The soi leading to this resort is filled with shops and restaurants that bug you to come in and sit down (well, they all are in Phuket).

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Right across the street from the beach. Go to the travel stand around the corner to book a seat on the mini-bus (250 baht) as the staff did not seem to know how to get back to the airport except by taxi or charter van (1200 baht).

I travelled from Bangalore, India to Thailand. I stayed there only for 4 days (since after that I had planned to stay in Patong for two days and then move to bangkok). Once I moved to Patong Beach, I realize how great this place was, for the price you pay - its really great. Great service, good pool with a water massager section. The beach - well phuket has better. Tips: If you need to relax in thailand, this is a great place, but if you need to travel more or you are more interested in night life, then patong is the place. There is a pier (Chalong Pier) pretty close to this place. Otherwise its great. There is a money exchange right opp the gate, there is a bus stand too and a tuk tuk stand too. There are Italian and Indian food joints there too. Really great on the whole.

Very friendly staff. They have a good setup for the breakfast included in the price you pay for the room. The location is also not bad, lots of eateries around. Travelling to other places around phuket might be a little bit expensive though.

Nothin much to add as cons.

  • Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : If you are staying here then use the Chalong Pier to head to islands.

We were so glad we stayed in a nice hotel like Sugar Palm because it was rainning in Phuket for the whole weekend..so we could relax at the hotel and watch movies (you can borrow them for free at the reception).

Nice decoration, great swimming pool and very good price for the value!

Spa is expensive and the treatments not that great

It's my first time to come to Phuket, i really like to stay in Sugar Palm Resort, they gave you the best price with the best location, its only 5 minutes away from the beach, and 2 minutes from bus station. I loved the room so much, most thing is i booked for superior room and they upgrated upto Deluxe one, with pool view. Nice for those who wants to spend their hunnymoon. The services so great and the staffs really friendly to the costumer. i gives my two tumbs up for them. I'll be back...

So how to write a review in only 50 words. The hotel offers all you need for a great vacation. It's a spa, pool, gymnasium. Outside you can find enough shops for your desire and there is enough of different tours you can take. All can be ordered at the hotel. It's important for me that the staff works and here they were excellent. I'm impressed when one of them even spoke norweigan. Of course only a few words but impressive yes. Feels almost like home.

I liked this hotel, we had a room with a view to the pool and if we had been lucky enough to be at the ground floor we just had to change and enter the pool via the balcony. We were in the second floor. The staff has been great and value for money has been great although this is a low season. We paid abouth 1500 in local currency per night. This was from 27 Uuly till the 2 of August. The room we had, had both shower and bathtub separately. That is also good. DVD player and free movies at the front desk. Free Internet. The hotel offers babysitting at a low price which we also used. Love to come back here.

What I missed the most was actually bacon at the breakfast. That is actually the biggest thing. Else than that a little hard bed but then again I have yet to find a soft bed in this country so far. Slept well anyway and a vacation shouldn't be in the bed should it?

The first thing you notice is the pool. We never did get to play in it but it looks great, very modern. The restaurant was nice and the room was clean and had what we needed. Free WiFi made checking email a snap. It is a very short walk to the beach. Basically just a across the road and then a short block to the beach.

Good location and very nice hotel. Very cool pool too.

Not on the water's edge. (not a big deal)

I liked the Sugar Palm. Last year we stayed across the street on the beach for twice the price. The Sugar Palm is not on the beach but it was just as nice. It has a very interesting pool as well. Breakfast was also nice with fresh eggs cooked to order and of course other options from the buffet as well. I would stay there again any time.

Good price and free WiFi

This hotel is very near the beach. It is in Kata which is alot quieter than Patong, but I prefer this. A few nearby resturant and hotels where you can eat. Kata is not ideal if you are looking for pubs and clubs, I would suggest Patong!!

  • Restaurant Tip : Mali resturant very good, Thai and international food!!
