It was a friendly enviroment.
Easy access to Kata beach & resturants. It is located away from the busy street - Patong , Bangla road & addidas mall .
I asked the receptionist to inofrm the cab driver for pick up and i was charged for the call!!??!!
(Which i didn't make the request to transfer the call to me).
Minimum knowledge of English, hence, misunderstanding.
This can be avoid by asking the guest their request and paraphrase & understand it.
If unsure, ask. Overall, stay was pleasant.
A warm welcome when i arrived with a cup of rose drink and towel.It is like 5 stars hotel!! Good job!!
Housekeeping was prompt- every early afternoon,with all towels & amenities replenished.
Most of all, i was surprised with b'day cake &
fruits on my b'day when i ordered the room service.
PS: Lobster Bisque was delicious!!
A generous portion
It was a special touch!

clean, comfortable, reasonable price, great location, friendly staff, sugar palms is a great boutique hotel in kata beach. the rooms are spacious, i like the balcony. the staff are friendly and helpful. it is walking distance to the beach. prices are very reasonable compared with similar type of hotel elsewhere. it has wifi in the room. beers in mini bar are reasonalby prices. i would go back there next time i visit phuket.the only drawback is that this hotel is not on the beach and has no sea view.
Travel tip : get the contact number from the meter taxi driver. taxi from the hotel costs twice as much compared with meter taxi

Good breakfast bed linen is a little rought but good enough for its price. Very convenient, 1 min walk to the beach. Many mini marts, coffee shops and restaurants right at the front.

clean hotel with a nice pool. Located around plenty of restaurants and shops and only a short walk from the beach. Hotel staff was not very helpful in giving trasnportation options to other destinations on Phuket. Sugar Palm Resort was a very clean and modern hotel with a great pool and even more intriguing pool shower. The facilities were more than we expected and we enjoyed out time there. The walk to the beach was very short and Kata Beach is quiet and fun. The nearby restaurants and bars make it easy to find something to do at night but the hotel itself is set back and quiet.
Nightlife Tip : if you can find your way to Ska Bar it is a nice, cheap place overlooking the beach. We enjoyed a beer and a view there in the evenings.

Really good value for money. Clean rooms, decent place. Had free wireless internet which was useful. They also give you beach bags and towels which you can bring when you go for tours (eg to Phi Phi Island) and can request for more beach towels. Staff were helpful. Some staff were very helpful and nice, while some were not so friendly. I made 2 separate room bookings and had to explain myself many times to different staff before I could get the keys to my second room. They couldn't understand that I made 2 room bookings under the same name. Poor communication between staff. One would tell me that the 2nd room was ready, but another would not let me check in. Kata beach is really beautiful and Sugar Palm is a nice hotel. Good to stay, clean rooms, the Pool Access Rooms are the best, although the Superior rooms are very spacious too. Good location if all you want to do is to relax by the beach. Slightly further from Patong (always need to take taxi) and less of a nightlife. But there are many good restaurants around, and cheap and good massage places. Shopping is just slightly more expensive than Patong but less crowded. Kata is more lively than Karon.
Would highly recommend this hotel. Good value for money in a location where there are many big name hotels around eg Club Med.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Book your tours in Patong area where you can haggle for cheaper prices if you book multiple tours together. More tour vendors there, so with higher competition you can get a better price. Usually the tour taxis will pick you up from your hotel.
If you are willing to spend a little more money, I highly recommend John Gray's "Hong by Starlight" tour. Definitely a must do!! Do this instead of the James Bond Island tour.

Very clean and roomy considering it looked small. Great location, walking distant to everything. Free Wifi and cute pool. Beach is just across the street. A bit old, basic and simple, not crazy about the shower. My husband and I stayed 2 nights in the pool view room. It's prefect if you're on a budget but want a clean room, it's close to everything! Best part it's across street from the beach. We love that there's free wifi and cheap Thai massages next to hotel. Didn't try the breakfast. great budget place, good value for the money.
Travel tip : Great Thai massages next to hotel. Buy anything you need at nearby 7/eleven. Tailor made suits nearby, give at least 4 days for fitting.

very friendly staff, good location (just 3 minutes to Kata Beach) bathroom could have been cleaner Stayed there for 2 nights in October 09. Everything was great and it was good value for the money spent there. We didn't have bkfst included and had to pay 270 Baht extra, which was a waste as the bkfst selection was not very good and there are many nice restaurants nearby. Can really recommend Natalie's Restaurant opposite the bkfst room. Great Thai food at good rates. Would definitely book this hotel again, but probably go for Deluxe Room next time.

Friendly staff, beautiful rooms. Love the bathroom which can be opened to look out into the room and balcony. Receptionist was confused by our booking. Clearly indicated that we needed 3 rooms, all twin beds. Mixed up our bookings and gave us a double bed for one room which a male and female colleague are sharing, which created a little issue. Staff compensated for their mixed up by their service by personally escorting us to the rooms, are friendly and helpful. Internet access was down sometimes, which made looking for another colleague staying in another hotel during an emergency a hassle. Rooms are clean, comfortable and beautiful.

Nice environment. Convenient as near to many amenities like massage centre, shopping area and restaurants. swimming pool is slightly small When we reached the resort, the hotel staff greeted us warmly and they were very friendly and helpful. We were led to our room and the environment was very relax. Location was right in the heart of many interesting things to do like massage centre, pubs and restaurants. It was also pretty near to the beach. The swimming pool may be a bit small for serious swimming but enough for a dip in the water and to relax. The steam and sauna room were just beside the pool, so you can have a dip and head over to the steam room to relax further. Overall experience, great.

Free coffee and water in the room as well as hair dryer. They even supply a towel for the beach or pool. Very close to beach There are restaurants, massage parlors, banks, Seven Eleven convenient store right in front of the resort. Lunch in Mali restaurant is expensive and really not good. The restaurant opposite to Mali, in front of the resort is cheaper and better. Free Renting of DVD is a wonderful gesture. You could rent movies only during day 14.00-19.00
Restaurant Tip : Natalies resto a couple of streets up. Very friendly staff and good food.

The boy stand by the front desk who help us to lift the bags was very rude!!! We did not have breakfast here. But it is the best hotel of five we live in Phuket this holiday.
Althoug it was raining for days, we borrowed DVD to spend our time.For the cheap price, many details of this hotel make us satisfy!
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Very near to the beach.

pool access rooms are excellent! very pretty and comfy boutique hotel in Kata beach. 5 min walking distance to the pretty Kata beach. breakfast is poor, not many choice.
A little noisy when they have drunken customers at poolside during late hours till morning. I had a awesome trip with my friends in a group of 6 of us. I had 3 pool access rooms, swimming pool is just in between our rooms. A very plus point is they have FREE internet access for customers in this hotel at the internet area. Also my friend & I went for their spa, it was AWESOME~! one of the best ever spa! great service, and friendly hotel staffs.

The swimming pool is really good. The position is very close to the beach! Everything is really good! The resort is perfect for me. This is my first time to live in kata. There is no many peoples in kata. Sugar palm resort lives in the beach of kata, 2 minites walking to the beach. The price is really competitive and good service. If i go to kata again, i would like to live in the sugar palm resort again.thank you veyr much.

Best location in kata beach. The location of this hotel is very good. You can walk just a few minute to the beach so if you don't have car or motocycle you should consider this hotel but on the other hand if you have a car, if will be one of the worst experience in high season because with limited car park, hotel service will take your car to car park so you have to wait or walk a bit far to get your car.
Be careful when you buy your room. Superior Room is in the old wing of hotel so the room is old and have to walk without elevator.
Finally, make sure you buy room with breakfast if you need it because when you buy it later it is far more expensive.

Had everything we needed in a great location near to shops and resturants and beautiful Kata beach. Will definatly return when I go back to Phuket Swimming pool only had minimal sunbathing space which I expect would be crowded in peak season We stayed in dulux pool view room. Rooms were spacious and clean with modern (but not particularly Thai) decor. Bathroom also spacious with bath, shower and sink. Balcony gave nice view of the pool and great for drying clothes or smokers! Location perfect; 7/11 round the corner, Natalies resturant next door with cheap food, drink and friendly staff, 3 min walk to Kata beach.
Hotel staff really helpful and friendly. Free internet was great.
Didn't eat in hotel as loads of other, cheaper places close by.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Natalies resturant (next door)has good food and friendly staff. Massages are fixed prices in the area but barter for everything else as even fixed price tours get a discount if you ask. Pums cooking class really enjoyable (Patong). Fantasea very commercial but like a Thai west end show-thoroughly enjoyed the evening. I think Kata beach is the best out of Patong, Karon and Kata.
