The location of the hotel at Kata beach, the colourful design of the room, the price of hotel room

We really like the location of the hotel at Kata beach. We did a day trip around the areas ie Big Buddha, Chalong Temple, Elephant trekking, Monkey show, Cashew Nut factory, Promthep Cape and Kata View Point.
However, the breakfast included with the hotel room is average. Didnt like the birds and flies flying around the restaurant and landed on the cutleries left of tables.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
We did a day trip around the areas ie Big Buddha, Chalong Temple, Elephant trekking, Monkey show, Cashew Nut factory, Promthep Cape and Kata View Point.
We hired a car with driver to bring us to all these places, from 10am to 4pm.
On the way back, we asked the taxi driver to stop us at nearby massage, Oriental Massage for a good foot reflexology that cost THB300 for 1 hour foot massage. It was so good after a long walk.

Overall its a very cheap hotel with nice features. The layout is nice but it was very apparent the rooms were a bit worn. The door to the closet was hanging off its hinges and the ceiling had mold spots on it. Don't spend the extra money for the breakfast buffet as it is very basic. Save and go to one of the many places to eat right next door.

we stayed from 24-31 august 2012..... the bedroom is spacious, the bathroom has shower and bathtub...free minibar (2 bottle mineral water, 1 can coke, 1 can beer and 1 box tipco) every day
breakfast is good......but it's non hallal food, so for muslim visitor please beware. but they charged breakfast for kids above 3years for 175bath.... but is not worthed..my daughter can not eat the breakfast because it's too spicy for her. but thanks god, there's banana pancake or satay in front of hotel and my daughter love banana pancake and sausage satay. she ate it almost everyday :d
the beach just across the street... only 2-3 minute walking...near 7/11, money changer etc...
overall we enjoyed the hotel so much

this hotel has small signage, so it's a little bit hard to find. you better search kata beach resort. because this hotel has a big signage and a lot of elephant statue so it easy to find, and sugar palm located in front of kata beach resort

One of the best hotels in Phuket I have stayed at. The room was nice, great pool, fantastic staffs. The hotel had a very nice design and the area was quiet. Only a few minute walk to the main roads for tourists & Kata Beach. Love It.

MUST try MALI restaurant which in front of the hotel.

There had been a few hiccups with the Internet service.
Note: you will have to book a taxi a day before you leave or find one for yourself.
Room service: great food, qood quality but takes a few tries to reach them finally. Extreme fast food delivery.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
The area is extremely expensive and the prices vary within an unimaginable range for the same shopping items.
For women traveling alone: always watch your back. I was followed by a man on a motorbike HALF my height and TWICE my age. Snap a picture of them with the license plate in the pic, and grab your phone saying you'll call the police. Speak loudly so that people will notice you're being stalked and you're not chatting to a friend casually. Just be careful, some sickos look at you as a potential prey. Watch your back and you'll be fine. Show strength because they sniff out weakness and it can end sadly.
