swimming pools and activities
presentation of the beach and the neighbourhood, evening entertainment
Excellent for families with children - that is what you pay for while staying in this hotel. If you are young couple request room on the sports side of the hotel (at least in low season, hotel is less than half occupied) unless you like young kids around you. In high season Dec-Mar the beach will be possibly nice, as we stayed twice in low season Sep and Oct the waves always bring some sort of garbage to the beach. In addition, although this is the longest beach in Phuket the appearance is not so nice, all hotels and their managemant should push local autorities to solve the problem of all abandoned wooden shelters. Evening entertainment in Sunwing - among of all the Thai kickboxing or flamed stick show - in my opinion not good for young children as they will follow it. Overal - for families it is a nice place to stay, for couples - it is possible to pay less for simmilar standard on Kata beach or Kamala or add a bit more and stay in Sheraton... just you will not possibly find 4-5 swimming pools in one resort somewhere else. Buffet breakfast good enough with eastern and western choices
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : On Monday and Thursday evening - local market is on, just 15 min walking to the main road. Cloths etc. as well as local cooked food are available. If you plan to take a speed boad trip to Phi Phi - try to find the one which offer Bamboo island on the schedule - if the weather and tide will be ok you will do snoorkeling on open sea - much better than by the beach. Talk to Wevi at the reception - she will arrange things for you

Very nice and hospitable staff, clean and big rooms, near beautiful beach.
extremely expensive internet connection, loud, running children, thin walls, not that good food!
This hotel is situated right at a beautiful 8 km sand beach. If you have kids its perfect for u, if not u have to like kids a lot, because they r everywhere. Mostly Scandinavians and Russians staying at the hotel when i were there. Best are the rooms, big rooms with balcony all in the direction to the five swimming pools. Clean, and good service. Restaurant, expensive and the food is one day ok, one day bad...its a lottery, and its expensive to eat there. The hotel is a little bit to far away if u wanna go out and party in Patong.

Kid friendly, great massage, buffet lists food allergy info, great beach, night time family entertainment.
Too many Mosquitoes in the room, baby pool surface really rough.
The beach was the highlight of our trip. Our son was 18 months at the time and too young to really benefit from the kids activities. He loves the pool but enjoyed the sand, an endless sandbox. The buffet was decent. Family night activities with shows and dinner specials. The only complaint was no net in the maids room and supplies door was open all the time. Therefore so many mosquitoes in our room. The traps wall plug in replant did not help much. Told staff they need netting.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Big Buddha, waterfalls, southern tip lighthouse at sunset. Abalone restaurant on small eastern island near Phuket town.

Great service, helpful staff, near the beach, pools were great, perfect place for a family, close to lotus and other main shopping areas; food was good;
breakfast was not included for me; no bathtub
I live in Thailand with friends. I needed a little getaway. For me it was refreshing to be around fun families. Families that were a lot like my own in America. It gave me a little taste of home with families everywhere. The service was great and everyone was so nice. The pools are outstanding and it is right near the beach. You don't have to leave the hotel for anything. They had a variety of good food choices. If my family was coming to visit me I would bring them here.

Plenty to keep children occupied - eg. sandpit with all the toys, playhouse and slide, see-saw, children's pool, free buffet for children with paying adults.
Hotel caters mainly for Scandinavian crowd so childrens' activities and shows are all in that language.
No lifts!
Nearest shopping area about 15-20 mins walk away although there's a mini market in the hotel.
Transportation to anywhere outside is expensive by Thai standards.
Every time I showered, the water would slide down the side of the bathtub and onto the bathroom floor. The wooden flooring in the room was quite slippery when wet and my children slipped a few times.
I picked this hotel as I wanted to keep my boys aged 2 and 4 occupied as my husband was busy preparing for the Phuket triathlon. The first day, I took them to the sandpit area and they absolutely loved it. There was a big box full of rakes, shovels, trucks, sieves, etc for the children to use. There was also a little slide and playhouse plus quite a few see-saws. There are paid activities as well which we didn't take part in. I also took the boys to the children's pool which they really enjoyed. For lunch, I took them to La Tasca and the staff told me that the children's buffet was free if I was also ordering a meal. This was a great idea because it meant that the children could start their meal immediately while I took time ordering mine and managed to enjoy my meal while they were busy eating theirs.
The resort being owned by a Swedish company meant that it was very geared towards the Scandinavian crowd. The children's activities and shows were all conducted in Swedish. We didn't pay to take part in the children's activities as my boys are quite shy anyway.
The nearest local supermarket is about a 15-20 minute walk away. There is a mini-market in the hotel but of course it's a bit more pricey. Transport to go anywhere even a 10 minute drive is expensive. The taxi driver said to me when I said the fare was expensive, that we could afford to pay if we were staying at Sunwing. There are several restaurants on the beach, and also little shops selling souvenirs, beach toys, etc.

Great Position on awesome beach with watersports, cheap restaurants on beach, nice pools, good facilities and programs for kids, has 7/11 & laundry in hotel.
Hotel is in a Great Position on awesome beach on Phuket island with good watersports, cheap restaurants on beach, nice pools, good facilities and programs for kids, has 7/11 & laundry in hotel. Rooms are very large good for family of 4+ & have full fridge, microwave, sink, all utensils for cooking and eating in room, nice balcony overlooking pools with dining table. Very Good Value for money for family with kids.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip : Hire cheap motorcycle or 4 wheel drive suzuki jeep to explore island rather than paying taxi's. There is a nice supermarket just 10 to 15 min walk (1.5km) and night market next to it a few time a week.

Lots of Scandinavian families were staying at the hotel and I believe the kids club staff were able to communicate in their own language (Swedish?).
A great hotel for families. No worries about your kids being loud, everybody understands and they will have lots of entertainment, their own shows to make etc.

Good hotel with friendly staff and wonderful location on the beach.
uneven cleaning of the rooms.
A good mid range hotel with friendly staff, good location near the beach and very good food. Hotel rooms are large but simple interior and a small kitchen corner in the hall. During my stay, which lasted two weeks each of the quality of cleanliness very much from a very careful cleaning with change of handukar that only legend became beds. In the hotel reception you could be helped the most from hiring mopped to order a taxi.
