Very nice place and very good services

kamala is a very good place in phuket. they are few tourist and no gogo bar as patong.
taro hotel is positionned in kamala, on the center.
the beach is not far (15 min by walk)
taro hotel is very quietly and the services is very good.
the boss is very friendly.
the room is very clean and modern.
i recommend a lot this place.

the bungalows are very dark only have patio doors and that is how you enter the rooms we upgaded. a very good walk to the beach and you have to cross a very busy road.

Far from the beach, took 20 min to walk, no tuk-tuk´s nearby. No restaurant, but had refrigerator (so we fixed our own simple breakfast). But clean, cool interal, friendly staff, quiet and calm. Free WiFi.

Fresh and Quiet - but a bit off-the-grid

would perhaps be better (and more correct) if they added the term "apartment-hotel" as it is really not like a traditional hotel. pictures on the agoda-site are really nice, but perhaps enhances reality somewhat... taxi-driver had a really hard time finding the place since its in the outskirts of kamala and almost hidden by a 50 meter dirt road from a side-street to a side-street.
when arriving the staff had the day off (it was on a sunday) so no one around to check in. had to walk around the premises and found a nice person in one of the apartments who could point me out to another apartment where i guess the owner lived (very friendly and helpful). despite this small irritating moment i was still happy with the room in the bungalow-like side-buildings which was nice and clean.
if i were staying around patong for a longer period of time i would definitely consider renting an apartment/studio at this place, and if you are ok with a small 10 min walk to reach kamala beach this is a good place to stay at, just don't expect it to be like a regular hotel.

We chose this hotel from the review and the pictures on Agoda but we would have to say that it's over-rated. The hotel looks nice from the lobby but the rest is just so-so. The bed sheet smelled and the room could be quite noisy. If you're looking for a relaxing stay, avoid it. This hotel is good for budget travelers who want to stay in Patong area.

This is a beautiful little hotel that is really more like an apartment building than a hotel. The bed is crazy comfortable, the bathroom is great, and there's a nice kitchen with a full size fridge and so on. We stayed in the rainy season and it did rain most of the time, but since the room was so nice and spacious we didn't really mind. Free wifi. The manager Terry is really friendly and quick with a restaurant tip or to arrange transportation. There isn't really a lobby, room service, or some other things you associate with a hotel though, so think of it more like you are renting a really nice apartment that is cleaned every day.
Nightlife Tip:
Kamala has some nice places for breakfast/lunch but for nightlife and dinner it's best to go into Patong, which is about 10 minutes and $10 away. I suggest renting a motorbike if the weather is nice, as the beach is about a 10 minute walk from the room.

The hotel is a small quiet building just renovated this year. Room is spacey, connected with kitchen equipped with oven, freeze, and cooking utensils, flat screen TV. Guests can relax on the balcony or outside the room on coaches near a jet blue pool with running water. Free Wi-Fi connection is good and fast. Shower is with rain shower head always has hot water. All rooms have a free safe. The owner, Terry, is a very friendly person, always ready to provide any assistance, service or direction to the local attractions, go out his way to give you a ride on his motorbike around. I would certainly recommend this hotel to people looking for no fuss and comfortable stay as convenient as at your own home!
Restaurant Tip:
There are plenty eating places within the walking distance with European and Thai food, a local mini-mal 7-11 and gas station.
The Kamala beach is very nice, quiet and deep enough to swim. If you want to go to Raya island for snorkeling and diving, I recommend Mansuri tour agency on the left from entry into Kamala beach. Their prices were quite low vs. the guy's on the beach.

Taro Hotel is pretty new and it's really nice. The rooms are large, so clean, stylish and excellent features (e.g. aircon and fan, good kitchenette, rainfall shower)
All the staff that I met, including the owner, couldn't do enough to make my stay as comfortable as possible, it was great service.
The Hotel is away from the main tourist part of the village (max ten minutes walk) but still has a shop and services close by, and the area is quiet, local & interesting.
Hotel Feature Tip:
go for a room as they are next to the swimming pool.

Very good hotel in tranquil place. Not a lot of rooms, everythig in new and clean. Big , cozy light rooms and good staff. Super fast internet. We are already coming there back in 1 week
Nightlife Tip:
10 minutes by bike to all night clubs and restaurants in Phuket, for whose who are interested.
