good hotel
beatiful swimming pools
good breakfast buffet
8.3
we spent two nights in Thara Patong.it near the Patong beach and the bazzar, very convenient.
Everything in the hotel is nice, the only unhappy experience about the hotel was we were disturbed by continuous door bell rings at 5am in the morning. We didn't know who was ringing the bell in such early morning,it's really annoying.

Reasonable and Reliable
Location, spa, comfortable bed, staff
8
I moved to Thara Patong from another hotel my first full day in Phuket. I chose it for location and price. I found the hotel to be a reliable choice. The rooms were comfortable and the location of the hotel is quite attractive. When I was escorted to my hotel from reception, it seemed like it took forever to get there. The layout of the hotel could be a lot better. The breakfast location was all the way in the back of the hotel, which was not good. Breakfast was OK, but not great. Also, I think Internet access should be provided free of charge. This habit that hotels have of charging extra for Internet is not a good practice. Thara Patong is very well setup with wireless internet, and the hotel should consider not charging for this service.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
For Phi Phi Island trip, I chose Firsa tours. It was a good choice as the boat was not too big (and therefore not so crowded) and the guide was quite nice.

Enjoy the hotel prefare stay on the beach
the garden and pools
the place- very close to the beach and to the main street.
the size of the room

This hotel is a very nice hotel. They put a lot of attention to the gardens and pools and it looks very nice. The location of the hotel is very good because its very close to the beach and to the restaurants shops and all you need.
We first took the delux room and the bath and toilet were very small, after upgrading to the luxury rooms we enjoyed the place very much.
Sightseeing/Attractions Tip:
Rent an open jeep (not at the office of the hotel) at tyhe street near by an drive throuth the beaches and beautiful views.

Nice Place to Stay
Hotel Spa and separate outdoor massage area, pool, nice rooms, good breakfast
6.7
You get AC, free breakfast, there are 2 pools, a spa, and separate poolside massage area. Only problem I had was checking in was a bit of a hassle. But only because we didn't book far in advance, had booked online via laptop, so did not have a printout of our confirmation upon arrival. I asked to use a computer, and they made me pay 300 baht for 30 minutes on the internet just to print out my reservation. The password they gave me didn't even work, so one of the bellmen logged in and let me use his account. And then they never gave me a new internet pass. Not a biggie, but I spent another 30 minutes the next day trying to print out another reservation confirmation. Other than the power going out 5 times in 2 days, it was a pretty good place to stay, if you must stay in Patong. Not my cup of tea...

A very good hotel
LOcated across the road from the beach. Beautiful pools.
8
This is a beautiful hotel with fabulous pools. Unfortunately the pools only open till 7pm. Stayed in non-smoking room which had king size bed, TV, room safe, gowns, etc. Room was large and very clean, well serviced. Location is great, just across road from beach and easy walking distance to Walking Street and JeungCeylon shopping centre. Breakfast is good and changes every day. Staff in dining area are very friendly. Plenty of bars and restaurants nearby. Happy hour at the cocktail bar from 5 to 7 pm when drinks are 50%. All in all a very pleasant experience.
Shopping Tip:
If buying DVD's make sure you get them played before you buy even if vendor guarantees them as 100%.

Hotel is getting old. Desk staff were very clumsy in handling a complaint from a customer infront of me. Clearly the management had given complete wrong in structions to handle cases like this.
The pool was the only good thing about the hotel. Never again, plenty of better choises around in Patong

Firstly the staff at Thara Patong were excellent and nothing was to much trouble. The pool and surroundings were a great place to spend time in the sun and the area and staff where the Thai massages were done was great. The standard of our room was of a high standard and servicing of our room was undertaken very quickly.
